Tang Ye placed the items in the farm, closed the door, then walked over to the survivors and registered their information one by one in a queue.

With a single scan of the wristwatch, the registration was complete. The survivors all found it novel, their attention completely drawn to it.

“After all of them are registered, you take them to choose their rooms. Have them press on the door to register their fingerprints, then they’ll be able to open their own room doors in the future,” Tang Ye said while scanning, speaking to Jiang Qing and Jiang Hong beside her.Full novel: Building an Underground Shelter in the Apocalypse — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Got it, don’t worry, Administrator. We’ll make sure everyone is properly arranged.”

The two of them were now not only managing the new survivors, but had also assigned themselves the task of monitoring the surveillance room, ensuring that no ill-intentioned survivors intruded into the area.

Otherwise, holding onto such a large amount of energy points made them feel somewhat undeserving.

“I can’t possibly register every batch of survivors one by one like this, can I? Is there any other way?” Tang Ye asked the System in her mind. She had recruited Jiang Qing and Jiang Hong precisely to avoid spending too much time on this, but it seemed there had not been much improvement.

“The host can spend one hundred thousand energy points to exchange for a scanning device to be installed inside the main gate. Every survivor who enters can be automatically scanned. It is connected to the host’s wristwatch system,” the System replied. “It can also manually distinguish between temporary visitors and permanent residents.”

“One hundred thousand…” Tang Ye frowned slightly, calculating her current energy points in her mind. She should have a little over 380,000. It seemed she would have to spend another 100,000.

“Exchange it.” Tang Ye did not hesitate long. Some energy points had to be spent when necessary.

The scanning device would still require some time to be installed, so Tang Ye could only continue registering them manually for now.

Halfway through the registration, the remaining survivors all arrived. Seeing the scene, they were momentarily confused, but after an explanation, they understood that information was being recorded.

After everyone had arrived, Tang Ye counted the number of people. There were a total of 328.

Fortunately, the eighteen-person dormitories on B3 had already been completed. Otherwise, the previous thirty rooms would not have been able to accommodate so many people.

“Alright, everything has been recorded. Take them inside. Don’t go to the left side of B3, it’s still under renovation,” Tang Ye said.

The survivors nodded and followed Jiang Qing and Jiang Hong, while Tang Ye continued with what she had been about to do.

Seeing the farming tools in Tang Ye’s hands, the survivors were full of curiosity. “Administrator, are you planning to farm?”

Jiang Qing and Jiang Hong nodded. “This is something unique to our place. Land that has been handled by the Administrator can already grow crops. You’ll understand once you live here. Our Administrator is amazing, the shelter has everything.”

The survivors were full of amazement. Being able to grow vegetables truly seemed like something unique in the entire world.

Xiao Qing supported her younger sister Xiao Yun as they walked at the back of the group, listening to everyone discussing the shelter.

“What? There’s an antidote?” Xiao Qing asked in surprise when she heard one of the survivors mention it.

“Yes, that girl Jiang Qing said it just now. Besides the antidote, there’s also a radiation neutralizer. These are all extremely rare items after the apocalypse.”

“Then I need to buy one for Xiao Yun. Jiang Qing, is there still antidote available? Can I purchase one?” Upon hearing the confirmed information, Xiao Qing hurriedly squeezed to the front of the crowd and asked.

“You’ll have to ask the Administrator about that. Later, you can check the bulletin board next to the Administrator’s room. If it’s listed there, it means it’s available. If not, it’s temporarily out of stock.”

As Jiang Qing spoke, she led them toward the elevator down to B1.

“This is the bulletin board.” Jiang Qing pointed to the wall next to Tang Ye’s room, which was covered with notices. “If there’s anything important, the Administrator will post it here. Everyone can check it often when they have time.”

Xiao Qing’s gaze landed on it as she nervously scanned through. Before long, she found what she was looking for, the antidote, priced at one Level 4 mutated crystal core per dose.

The price surprised her somewhat, but she felt more relief than anything else.

“Once you’ve settled in, you can go upstairs to find the Administrator. She should be at the farm at this time,” Jiang Hong said.

Xiao Qing nodded and waited with everyone else to be assigned rooms.

“Wow, this room is incredible,” the survivors ahead kept exclaiming in amazement, making those behind even more curious.

Because Xiao Qing and Xiao Yun were further back in line, they were assigned to B3. It was newly built and not very crowded, making it relatively quiet, but all the necessary facilities were present.

They chose a bunk bed. After entering the room, Xiao Qing finally understood why everyone had been so amazed. This was indeed the best room she had seen since the apocalypse began.

After settling Xiao Yun, Xiao Qing went up to the ground level and, as expected, saw Tang Ye planting seeds.

After explaining her purpose, Tang Ye washed the dirt from her hands and brought her to B1.

Tang Ye asked her to wait in the corridor, then went into the laboratory’s cold storage to retrieve a dose of antidote.

“This can only be stored at room temperature for one week. It should be used as soon as possible,” Tang Ye reminded her.

“Alright, thank you.” Xiao Qing handed over one Level 4 crystal core and then took the elevator downstairs.

Jiang Qing and Jiang Hong had already settled everyone. Since they did not have Tang Ye’s wristwatch, they could not use face recognition for payment, so they collected mutated crystal cores instead. At this moment, 328 Level 2 mutated crystal cores filled two large sacks to the brim.

After Tang Ye took them, she realized how heavy they were. She brought them back to her room and immediately converted them into energy points.

328 Level 2 mutated crystal cores equaled 32,800 energy points.

With more than three hundred new people, the shelter now had a total of 573 residents. It seemed that the population was steadily increasing, and the scale was growing larger and larger.

The shelter became more lively, no longer carrying the cold emptiness it once had.

Two more days passed. The large supermarket that had been under construction was finally completed. After receiving the notification, Tang Ye got up and dressed immediately, even though it was still dark outside.

It was still early, and the corridor was relatively quiet. Only a few people were outside. When they saw Tang Ye, they greeted her softly.

Tang Ye nodded in response to each of them and took the elevator down to B3.

To the left of the elevator, what had previously been covered by barriers was now replaced by a brand-new, large supermarket occupying a vast area.

At this moment, both the front and back doors were closed. Tang Ye walked over and used her fingerprint to open the glass door at the front.

Her fingerprint could open any door in the shelter, including the dormitories where the survivors lived.

The entire supermarket was spacious and empty. There was nothing inside yet, only basic structural finishing, leaving it completely bare.

“Do I still need to spend energy points to buy shelves?” Tang Ye asked. Judging from the size, it would require quite a number of shelves.

“Yes, host. After the supermarket is built, the System Store is unlocked. You can purchase goods here. Shelves are also included, and you can place goods produced in the shelter as well,” the System explained.

Tang Ye opened the System interface. Sure enough, besides the personal page and logistics page, there was now an additional System Store.

The items in the System Store were far more diverse than those in the logistics page, including oil, salt, sauces, vinegar, tea, daily necessities, clothing, and more.

Shelves cost one thousand energy points each. Tang Ye first exchanged for ten shelves, then a checkout counter and shopping baskets. Altogether, she spent 16,000 energy points.

All the items were delivered to the store in cardboard boxes. Tang Ye had to unpack them and place them in appropriate positions one by one.

Fortunately, no assembly was required, but working alone, by the time she finished, it was already morning.

The ten shelves only occupied about a quarter of the supermarket. Tang Ye arranged them according to how she remembered supermarkets to be.

The shelves seemed to be made of some material that looked like metal but was very lightweight. There were slots on the floor, and once pushed into place, they would stay fixed.

The checkout counter worked similarly. On top was a computer-like device that could scan products and also support face recognition payment.

After setting everything up, Tang Ye began calculating what items could currently be sold.

From the laboratory, protective radiation suits and gas masks could be sold. However, insect repellent powder, radiation neutralizers, and antidotes could not be sold here due to limited quantities, so she still needed to restrict purchases.

From the recycling and reconstruction station, the items available for sale were daily necessities made from processed waste, toilet paper, sanitary pads, toothbrushes, towels, and recently added cups, bowls, and chopsticks, all of which were quite popular.

As for the farm’s produce, it could not be sold here for now. Although the yield was high, cultivating it still required considerable effort.

While calculating, Tang Ye closed the supermarket doors, preparing to go upstairs to bring down the items that would be sold.

“Administrator.”

Tang Ye looked up and saw Xiao Qing, who had come to buy the antidote earlier, greeting her. Behind her stood a girl who resembled her somewhat, likely the younger sister who had been bitten by the venomous insect.

“Thanks to the Administrator’s antidote, my sister has completely recovered,” Xiao Qing said with a smile. Not only that, but over the past two days, they had finally been able to sleep soundly through the night, something they had not experienced in many years.

In their previous shelter, they had always needed to stay alert, wary of venomous insects breaking through the walls at any time. But here, such problems did not exist at all.

On the first night, she had remained tense for a long time, but the surroundings were so quiet that she could only hear the voices of others in the same room.

Eventually, she fell asleep from exhaustion, and nothing happened when she woke up. After asking survivors who had already been living here, she learned that Sunrise Shelter had always been this safe.

“It’s nothing. Are you getting used to living here?” Tang Ye asked.

“Very much,” Xiao Yun replied eagerly. “It’s so nice here, clean and comfortable, and life is very convenient. My sister and I have gone to the cafeteria several times, and the food is always delicious.”

Hearing this, Tang Ye could not help but smile slightly. “That’s good.”

“What is this room?” Lu Xu, who had been following behind, looked curiously at the newly built supermarket. “When we arrived, it seemed like it was still under construction. It’s finished so quickly?”
