The moonlight was hazy, and the transparent ceiling enveloped the heavy floral scent like amber. This was one of the few places on Desert Planet θ where one could directly look up at the starry sky without external aid, yet at this moment, no one seemed to care about the vast expanse overhead.

Chu Yanyi’s voice was not loud, but in the noisy venue, word spread from one to ten and ten to a hundred. After a flurry of whispers, a massive hush fell over the crowd.

He withdrew his cane and smiled naturally at the President: “You didn’t recognize the wrong person. He did spend some time by Ying Yu’s side.”Full novel: Buying My Archenemy’s Former Lover — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Someone dropped a glass onto the floor, making a crisp sound like cracking ice as the golden liquid stained a white skirt hem. Several servers rushed forward, while some people secretly activated their terminals. The venue was filled with the scents of flowers and mint.

Those unreserved gazes stuck to his body. Zhou Yi tightened his left hand slightly, remembering what Chu Yanyi had said—those people were all afraid of him, or rather, afraid of his past identity.

And Chu Yanyi was right here.

The moment this thought surfaced, Zhou Yi adjusted his breathing in a single second. Indifferently, he replaced Chu Yanyi’s drink with a new one and picked up a glass for himself along the way.

“Go eat something to line your stomach first,” Chu Yanyi reached out and took the wine glass from his hand, offering a warm smile. “Your stomach isn’t in good shape right now; don’t drink on an empty stomach.”

Zhou Yi nodded naturally, turned around, and walked straight toward the service area on the other side.

Along the way, different people stared at him, yet instinctively lowered their heads to yield a path as he approached. Like Moses, he crossed the red sea he had opened without turning his gaze.

Seeing that he had truly gone to pick out food, Chu Yanyi turned his head and met the President’s eyes for a moment.

The area around them had been cleared; irrelevant personnel had received the word and would not, nor could they easily, approach.

The President spoke first, her tone very light and soft, easily evoking words associated with motherhood—those warm, comforting things: “I was worried whether he would be dragged down after Ying Yu met with trouble. Seeing him with you, I feel at ease.”

“I only happened to run into him on that Beastmen Alliance starship a while ago,” Chu Yanyi remarked with regret. “It wasn’t appropriate for me to press for details about what happened. The experience of being trafficked as a slave is far too terrible after all. He only recently adapted to crowded environments.”

The President let out a sigh, speaking with continued gentle warmth: “A pitiful soul indeed… Staying away from the Second District spares him plenty of trouble, but there are certain matters—as you know—where it would be better if he could step forward.”

Chu Yanyi took a sip of wine with feigned hesitation, remaining silent for a long moment. Only after Ying Yu’s death did the President gain the opportunity to extend her tentacles into the airtight Second District, though it didn’t seem to be going all that smoothly.

“Sigh, I’ve watched all the grievances between you and Ying Yu over the years,” the President paused, scanning her surroundings. “Forget it, let’s not bring it up here. Given my health, I don’t know how many years I have left to live, nor who will take over my place when the time comes.”

“There you go again,” Chu Yanyi supported his chin, looking toward Zhou Yi’s silhouette, a faint smile gracing the corners of his lips. “Let me think about it further, and I’ll need to ask his own opinion as well. If he genuinely wishes to return, I naturally have no reason to hold him back.”

With that, he rose to his feet and bowed lightly to the President: “My apologies, I must go pay my respects to the Governor first. Wishing you good health and longevity.”

Chu Yanyi chatted for a while with the Governor, who was surrounded by a crowd, discussing Desert Planet θ’s upcoming policies regarding rare mineral exports.

The Governor danced around the topic without offering a direct answer, merely hinting that several planets in the Empire had lovely scenery suitable for vacations, mentioning he had just visited one recently. After three rounds of drinks, both men burst into laughter simultaneously. Some onlookers remained clueless while others understood clearly, yet everyone laughed along regardless.

After clinking glasses lightly for the second time, the Governor’s eyes turned hazy: “Mr. Chu, you truly hate Ying Yu, don’t you?”

“Oh?”

“Otherwise, why bother putting on this show in front of so many people? You’ve claimed his legacy as your own, slapping a whole crowd of people right in the face.”

Using his drink to mask his expression, Chu Yanyi maintained a calm demeanor: “Legacy? You’re as humorous as ever. Ying Yu is dead, but the rest of us still have to live. Zhou Yi, just like Chen Ke and the others, is simply my employee.”

“Sim-i-lar, huh?” the Governor smirked.

Chu Yanyi nodded with a smile. Just as he was about to probe further into this puppet’s intentions, a plate filled with food was presented before him.

Because the President’s favorite great-granddaughter shared a birthday on the same day, this birthday banquet adopted a buffet style favored by children. Naturally, food from all over was prepared—delicate Imperial desserts, traditional Federation snacks, but primarily local specialties of Desert Planet θ.

Scanning it briefly, Chu Yanyi noted that the plate was filled entirely with items he usually enjoyed eating.

Taking the plate from Zhou Yi’s left hand, he offered an apologetic smile to the Governor. The Governor cast a look that said “we all understand,” and Chu Yanyi took Zhou Yi’s arm to sit off to the side.

“Have you eaten?” Chu Yanyi stuffed the remaining half glass of wine to Zhou Yi, using a fork to casually pick up a uniquely shaped mini cake.

Zhou Yi didn’t answer directly, merely using sign language to tell Chu Yanyi that he saw everyone taking this cake, so he picked one up for Chu Yanyi as well.

Chu Yanyi froze for a second, teasing with a smile: “You really are silly. You should at least try it yourself to see if it’s good before giving it to me. What if it doesn’t taste good?”

Seeing Zhou Yi frown as if seriously considering the possibility, Chu Yanyi let out a light laugh, bringing the small cake to Zhou Yi’s lips: “Just joking. The President’s household has several pastry chefs dedicated to desserts—it won’t be bad.”

Zhou Yi parted his lips, carefully taking the entire cake into his mouth.

“Don’t choke,” Chu Yanyi patted his shoulder. Zhou Yi shook his head, drank the rest of the wine in Chu Yanyi’s glass, and swallowed everything down.

They ate for a while as if no one else were present—mostly Chu Yanyi eating while occasionally feeding Zhou Yi. Zhou Yi ended up drinking quite a bit of wine, which Chu Yanyi didn’t stop, considering he had consumed a fair share himself.

Biting his fork, Chu Yanyi’s gaze drifted slowly from Zhou Yi’s flushed profile to the brand on his neck.

Although Chu Yanyi had allowed Zhou Yi to select his own clothes, Zhou Yi was not dressed in the playboy style Chu Yanyi had seen before; on the contrary, he was dressed properly, even quite formally, choosing dark colors for his shirt and tie.

It was the style Chu Yanyi had coordinated for him on several occasions.

Ying Yu’s legacy, huh…

Realizing this, the smile on Chu Yanyi’s lips deepened. Toying with his fork, he tapped the tall glass in Zhou Yi’s hand with interest: “Did you see…”

“Mr. Chu seems to be in high spirits today.”

A cold snort cut off Chu Yanyi’s remaining words. A tall, slender man holding a glass walked up to Chu Yanyi’s side, speaking with contempt: “I came specifically to congratulate you, Mr. Chu, on acquiring another beauty.”

Even though slightly tipsy, Chu Yanyi’s smile remained flawless. He took the initiative to stand up and exchange pleasantries with the man: “Mr. Zhao, long time no see.”

“How could I compare to your busyness, Mr. Chu? You never delay any business—the person we searched so long for was actually hidden away in your estate.” The man’s tone was hostile, glaring fiercely at Zhou Yi toward the end of his sentence.

Zhou Yi acted as if he heard nothing, continuing to fiddle with the napkin in his hand using his left hand, without raising his head.

“There’s no need for Mr. Zhao to put it that way. I feel deep regret over Mr. Ying’s matter as well, but if memory serves, Zhou Yi holds no legal connection to Mr. Ying whatsoever. He merely became my employee temporarily—how does that translate to being hidden away?”

Chu Yanyi’s tone was friendly. He held the man’s shoulder, turning his back to Zhou Yi: “Besides, the President has poured so much effort into the development of your Second District. Today is her birthday; why cause unnecessary trouble?”

Zhao Qiu節 let out a cold snort: “As expected of Mr. Chu—always so eloquent. We’ll see about that then.”

Chu Yanyi smiled without a word.

“You don’t know him? He is… the person who took over Ying Yu’s position.” Chu Yanyi stroked the fork in his hand, suddenly asking with a beaming smile, “Zhou Yi, comparing Ying Yu with Zhao Qiu節, do you think this Mr. Zhao is worthy of that position?”

Zhou Yi’s attempt to fold the napkin back to its original shape paused. He raised his head, observed Chu Yanyi’s expression for a moment, and shook his head lightly.

What kind of person Ying Yu truly was, Zhou Yi didn’t know, nor did he care to know. He only knew that Chu Yanyi before him was the most important person to him right now.

Chu Yanyi smiled and patted his shoulder: “Don’t go saying that out loud; young people nowadays have quite a temper.“

Zhou Yi’s brow moved slightly, and he wrote a few characters on the back of Chu Yanyi’s hand.

Chu Yanyi laughed even more delightfully.

Zhou Yi had written: “Different. Mr. Chu is a young person too.”

In a setting like this, enjoying a meal properly was out of the question. Several waves of people approached to network, while others came to probe for information; Chu Yanyi handled every single one without a change in expression.

Seeing how busy he was, and unsure if these work-related conversations were appropriate for him to hear, Zhou Yi made a few gestures to Chu Yanyi. Upon receiving permission, he walked toward the nearby restroom.

It was the area with the fewest people and one of the rare blind spots for surveillance—a place where virtually no one would disturb him.

He was always capable of entertaining himself.

Standing before the mirror, Zhou Yi removed his right glove with his left hand, then used his teeth with effort to pull off his left glove. He stared numbly at his deformed right hand.

“How hideous. Chu Yanyi making you cover it with a glove is just because he finds it embarrassing for others to see,” the man in the mirror mocked.

Zhou Yi ignored him.

Not until the sensor-activated cold water filled the basin did he pour a painkiller from his candy box, chewing it dry.

He then bowed his head, plunging his burning face into the cold water.

He naturally knew this might be unsanitary, but to him, there seemed to be no need to care.

When he raised his head, only a disheveled, despondent man remained in the mirror.

“Truly as shameless and vile as ever.”

A contemptuous voice sounded from behind. Indifferently, Zhou Yi brushed his wet hair back and pulled out a tissue to wipe his face.

“Did you really think that after climbing onto Ying Yu, you could smoothly climb onto Chu Yanyi as well?”

Looking up to see that furious face in the mirror, he finally realized that this incessant rambling wasn’t an auditory hallucination of his own.

Perhaps due to Zhou Yi’s overly detached expression, Zhao Qiu節’s features twisted in rage. Disregarding whether anyone would hear or see, he stepped inside and raised his voice further.

His vocabulary turned even more insufferable.

“How did you kneel down and beg Chu Yanyi to take you!? Born with a cheap spine—once your legs spread, you can’t close them, right!? Ying Yu treated you so well in the past, and you repay him with a green hat!? His bones aren’t even cold! Yet you climbed straight onto Chu Yanyi’s bed! Do you feel miserable if you aren’t fucked for a single day!? Lowly thing—if you don’t want your dignity, do others not want theirs?!”

But I don’t remember who Ying Yu is at all; why should I care?

Zhou Yi dropped his eyes, a mocking curve surfacing at the corners of his lips.

“Or rather, HAHAHA, you fell for Chu Yanyi’s dick long ago, didn’t you!? HAHAHA, fell for him!? How dare you! HAHAHA, you and Chu Yanyi were hooking up behind Ying Yu’s back all along, HAHAHA, and joined forces to murder Ying Yu in the end! Fucking disgusting! A slave used by a thousand men acts more like a human than you! What else do you know besides taking off your pants for people and stepping on everyone’s faces to climb up!? You’re just Chu Yanyi’s dog!!!”

“Scared to speak now!? All the dignity of our Second District has been completely lost by a whore like you who sells his ass to Alphas! If I were you, I’d fucking find a rope and hang myself!!! How do you have the face to stay alive!!”

Roaring in extreme fury, Zhao Qiu節 grabbed violently toward Zhou Yi’s collar.

The next second, a cold glint flashed.

By the time Zhao Qiu節 reacted, a cold blade was pressed firmly against his throat. Fresh red blood oozed along the edge; going a single inch deeper would sever his carotid artery.

He sobered up from his drunkenness in an instant. The terror of facing death directly left his tongue immobile, able only to press against the wall while trembling. The shameful traitor before him suddenly let out a light smile, and Zhao Qiu節 understood his mouth movements.

The traitor said: “If I were in your position, I would never remain alone in a room with Chu Yanyi’s dog entirely unguarded. I don’t think Ying Yu would either.”

As he spoke, there was no anger in his eyes, no excitement, no panic—there was simply nothing at all.

After speaking, the man tilted his head slightly, his eyes filled entirely with the Alpha standing outside the door, as if awaiting the other’s order.

Leaning lazily against the doorframe supported by his cane, Chu Yanyi held a smile on his lips, looking thoroughly good-tempered.

Every drop of blood in Zhao Qiu節’s body ran cold at this moment.

The image of Zhou Yi described by the older generation in the company suddenly came vividly to life.

That was a vicious dog—100% loyal to Ying Yu, loyal to a lunatic.

Looking at it now, he had clearly just handed the leash over to another lunatic.

Then again, if Chu Yanyi were truly a normal person, he couldn’t have been entangled with Ying Yu for so long.

A “kind-hearted” server had used the opportunity of replacing drinks to inform Chu Yanyi that Zhou Yi and Zhao Qiu節 seemed to have gotten into a conflict near the restroom.

Chu Yanyi nodded, stuffing a roll of banknotes into the server’s pocket without a change in expression, and the server tactfully made a quiet gesture to shut his mouth.

He hadn’t expected things to unfold even more spectacularly than he had predicted.

Leaning against the doorframe with his cane resting on the floor, he was in no hurry to step inside, observing the expression on Zhao Qiu節’s face like an outsider, before turning his gaze onto Zhou Yi.

Zhao Qiu節 prided himself on coming from a prestigious family, yet when drunk, the words tumbling from his mouth differed little from the street thugs he looked down upon.

Had taking a photo of this scene not risked bringing unnecessary trouble upon himself, Chu Yanyi—feeling somewhat tipsy himself—would definitely have pulled out his terminal.

Admiring this interesting scene for a moment, he finally let out a laugh, revealing neat, white teeth that looked all the more radiant against his formal attire today. He spoke in a light tone: “Zhou Yi. It’s time for us to head back.”

Before his words landed, Zhou Yi withdrew his knife without hesitation. Accompanied by the rhythmic dripping of water and the dull thuds of shoe heels tapping against the floor, Zhou Yi stepped behind Chu Yanyi.

Bloodless, Zhao Qiu節 looked as though he could no longer hold himself up, his back sliding slowly down the wall until he sat on the floor.

A liquid trickled down along his trouser legs.

“Mr. Zhao, do you need me to call a doctor for you?” Chu Yanyi looked down at Zhao Qiu節 in a commanding posture, asking with feigned concern.

The fingers Zhao Qiu節 used to cover his wound were stained red with fresh blood. Raising his head to glare at Chu Yanyi with pure malice, his voice rasped: “Chu Yanyi… both of you will definitely face retribution.”

The pride of a young man was fragile beyond measure, turning into intense hatred in an instant.

Chu Yanyi had been in a far more wretched state in the past.

Waking up from that explosion orchestrated by Ying Yu, the castle he had painstakingly built collapsed like a house of cards, easily leveled to the ground by Ying Yu.

Yet he had reviewed the medical reports with extraordinary calmness, asking the doctor: “So, will I still be able to walk normally in the future?”

It took a long while for the doctor to speak: “We must believe in the power of medicine. We will do our utmost to treat you, and you must rest well too. However…”

Chu Yanyi closed his eyes, his voice raspy from having just woken up: “It’s fine, that’s enough. I want to be discharged.”

Now, looking at Zhao Qiu節, this young man didn’t compare to Ying Yu in the slightest.

Ying Yu had been even younger when he took power back then. Although Chu Yanyi hadn’t personally experienced that era, he had heard plenty about Ying Yu’s deeds—reportedly, the forces in Ying Yu’s hands had expanded to the point of directly overthrowing the existing government of Desert Planet θ.

Had Ying Yu not frequently made unfathomable, abnormal decisions, perhaps the Governor Chu Yanyi met tonight would have been a different person entirely.

Pity he was a lunatic.

With an unreadable smile, he tossed a handkerchief by his feet—a casual gesture like bestowing charity: “Mr. Zhao, running into Mr. Ying was already the retribution of my life.”

Heavenly karma cycles round, yet Chu Yanyi believed in neither karma nor retribution.

If retribution truly existed in this world, Chu Yanyi felt that whether it was himself, Ying Yu, or even every single person attending the banquet tonight, they all deserved to die.

In the hotel’s spacious hallway, the lighting was dim. Several assistants were waiting by the door chatting in low voices; catching sight of Chu Yanyi’s return, they swarmed forward to report on the tasks he had assigned before the banquet began.

Such as the movements of certain prominent figures during the banquet, leaked information, or… Zhou Yi’s interactions with the people from the Second District.

However, catching the strong scent of alcohol on Chu Yanyi, they weighed their words and prepared sobering medication and clear tea according to routine, presenting them on Chu Yanyi’s desk.

Helped out of his coat by Chen Ke, Chu Yanyi sat before the desk in the outer room, rubbing his temples forcefully in an attempt to regain a shred of rationality from his drunkenness: “Oh right, Zhou Yi drank too much tonight and accidentally injured Zhao Qiu節. Find someone to go apologize—just say… say drinking leads to mishaps, and hope they don’t mind.”

“Understood, I’ll have Little Lin head over with gifts tomorrow during the day,” Chen Ke scanned Zhou Yi standing low-browed and submissive off to the side, the expression on his face somewhat hard to describe. Sending someone to apologize… rather than politeness, this felt more like intentional humiliation.

Better to leave all decisions until after Chu Yanyi sobered up tomorrow.

Chu Yanyi leaned in to sniff the dark tea; the bitter aroma rushed straight to his brain, causing him to frown and push it aside casually.

“Let me leave it at that for now,” he let out a yawn and waved his hand. “It’s late and you’re all tired; go get some rest. Zhou Yi, you stay behind; I have something to ask you.”

The President remained vigorous despite her age, and her children and grandchildren understood her preferences best—the wines selected tonight were among the strongest in the galaxy. Chu Yanyi’s tolerance was modest at best, and with the delayed potency rising, he merely felt drowsy.

Seeing this, the assistants and bodyguards said no more, quietly taking their leave without forgetting to gently close the door.

Chu Yanyi activated the room’s air purification system; perhaps due to an illusion from his susceptible period, he seemed to smell the scent of his own pheromones.

“Sit down. Tell me, how did Zhao Qiu節 offend you?” Supporting his chin, Chu Yanyi’s eyes looked hazy with intoxication as he invited Zhou Yi to sit opposite him with a genial expression.

Zhou Yi froze, his fingers tightly clutching his hem, sitting down with apprehension.

Regarding the matter with Zhao Qiu節, how could he explain it to satisfy Chu Yanyi? He didn’t want to repeat those foul, insufferable words before Chu Yanyi, nor could he bring himself to do so.

“Have another drink?” Chu Yanyi was in no hurry either, winking at Zhou Yi before standing up to open the wine cabinet to the side. Opening another bottle, he placed an index finger over his lips: “Don’t tell Chen Ke and the others.”

The sound of a cork rolling onto the floor, glass clinking against ice, and liquid pouring down.

Standing behind him, Zhou Yi bent his knees and dropped slowly onto his knees.

Chu Yanyi turned around, raising an eyebrow slightly, his movements pausing as he narrowed his eyes as if trying to decipher what was happening. After observing for a moment, he said: “I only told you to keep it from them—why are you so scared? Are they harsh to you?”

Leaning against the desk edge, he took a sip of wine, looking down from a commanding height into Zhou Yi’s eyes.

“Continue telling me about Zhao Qiu節. How did he offend you? If he didn’t offend you, why did you want to kill him?”

“…”

Chu Yanyi laughed: “Could it be that you felt he offended me?”

Zhou Yi pursed his lips and nodded.

“Then if I hadn’t come, would you have killed him for me?” Chu Yanyi leaned down, reaching out to touch Zhou Yi’s cheek.

Zhou Yi lowered his eyes, then gave another slow nod.

Chu Yanyi chuckled, reaching out to pinch Zhou Yi’s cheek: “That won’t do. We live in a rule-of-law society—you can’t kill, can’t kill him, understood? Giving you the military knife was for self-defense; if you act like this again, give it back to me.”

“Did Ying Yu used to make you do these things in the past? He really was quite wicked then,” the tail of Chu Yanyi’s words rose slightly from his drunkenness, carrying a touch of unbridled charm.

Hearing Ying Yu’s name, Zhou Yi snapped his head up abruptly. Caught off guard, Chu Yanyi’s fingers landed against his lips.

A cold, soft touch.

“What’s wrong, did you remember something about him?” Chu Yanyi’s cheeks were flushed red, displaying a rare, radiant demeanor. His fingers stroked Zhou Yi’s profile, while his other hand loosened his collar tie that felt somewhat choking.

Without the avoidance Chu Yanyi had anticipated, Zhou Yi merely raised his head, gazing at Chu Yanyi. Hands tucked behind his back, even while kneeling, his tailored suit accentuated his straight shoulder lines and spine.

Chu Yanyi looked down at him.

Their gazes crossed, and Zhou Yi continued to look at the Alpha before him with utter seriousness.

He parted his lips, as if knowing Chu Yanyi would certainly understand his mouth movements, just as he knew he wasn’t clever enough, yet Chu Yanyi harbored no aversion toward a self like this.

He answered Chu Yanyi’s initial question: “Because Zhao Qiu節 said I am not allowed to like Mr. Chu.”

Chu Yanyi’s fingers paused for a moment. He slowly scrutinized Zhou Yi’s features, and Zhou Yi submissively nuzzled his fingers.

“May I like Mr. Chu?” he “said” word by word.

Under the gaze of those crystal-clear, clean eyes, Chu Yanyi suddenly felt somewhat breathless. Turning his head to look out the window at the distant city lights, he thought of irrelevant things—like home, like a harbor, like a fledgling bird—finally regaining his breathing rhythm.

Then, he caught the delicate, enchanting scent of irises filling the room; the susceptible period medication seemed to have truly lost its efficacy due to the alcohol.

He suddenly burst into laughter: “You may. Zhou Yi, of course you may like me. Do you want to like me?”

Zhou Yi froze for a second. Chu Yanyi’s smile differed little from usual, yet seemed laced with countless different emotions, the heavy, unsaid words weighing down on him until he could barely breathe.

How could I not like Mr. Chu?

A person as wonderful as Mr. Chu, willing to save me time and again, willing to grant me freedom, willing to set aside past grudges to keep me by his side, willing to tirelessly remind me that I am no longer a slave…

He naturally wanted to like him.

Thus, he gently kissed Chu Yanyi’s fingers.

Taking advantage of the moment, Chu Yanyi intruded his fingers into Zhou Yi’s lips and teeth, his fingertips brushing past Zhou Yi’s teeth, coming to rest against Zhou Yi’s sharp canine, rubbing it lightly.

The most fundamental physiological feature of an Alpha—capable of puncturing the gland on the back of an Omega’s neck to inject pheromones for a temporary mark.

Pity Zhou Yi’s gland had not fully recovered; even with Chu Yanyi’s stimulation, he could not secrete his own pheromones.

“You’ve forgotten so many things, yet do you know what liking someone means? Can you be sure you truly like me rather than simply feeling grateful toward me?” Chu Yanyi’s fingers pushed further inside, swirling around the Alpha’s tongue as he asked in a soft voice.

Answering him was Zhou Yi’s movement of enduring the discomfort, sucking his fingers slowly. The Alpha’s tongue was far from nimble, resembling more of an affectionate lick.

Chu Yanyi withdrew his fingers, casually wiping the saliva on his hand onto Zhou Yi’s collar: “Zhou Yi, I am an Alpha, and you are an Alpha too—you should be clear on this fact.”

In modern society, although choices were no longer restricted to traditional Alpha-Omega or Beta-Beta pairings, an Alpha and an Alpha being together was just as criticized as an Omega and an Omega.

Setting aside the mutual repulsion caused by injecting an Alpha’s pheromones into another Alpha’s gland, how could an Alpha—lacking even the degraded reproductive cavity of a Beta—satisfy another Alpha’s desires?

It was bound to be a combination requiring total concession from one side, potentially resulting in pure agony.

So when Chu Yanyi first learned that Ying Yu had taken an Alpha as a lover, his initial reaction was that the lunatic was indeed capable of doing such an unconventional thing.

Zhou Yi lowered his head, leaning his body forward slightly, resting his chin on Chu Yanyi’s bent knee. Using his left hand, he awkwardly undone his own accessories, taking the hem of Chu Yanyi’s shirt between his teeth, slowly pulling it out along the waist belt.

Immediately after, he bit down on the location of the zipper.

The subtle touch caused Chu Yanyi’s muscles to tense up. The custom suit fitted his body flawlessly, complete with various specialized shirt stays. Zhou Yi’s movements were slow yet meticulously careful, as if terrified of accidentally causing Chu Yanyi pain.

Under the Alpha’s meticulous actions, Chu Yanyi slowly closed his eyes. Who could have thought that one day, this fiercely arrogant Alpha would perform such acts for him—this Alpha who had been together with Ying Yu, this Alpha mockingly referred to as Ying Yu’s “legacy.”

Chu Yanyi set down his glass, the ice inside having long melted into a pool of water. Revealing a mocking smile, he grabbed Zhou Yi’s hair, forcing Zhou Yi to raise his head: “Did you… also get together with Ying Yu like this back then? Seduce Ying Yu using this method?”

Zhou Yi merely leaned forward slowly, kissing Chu Yanyi once again.

Chu Yanyi’s entire body shivered. Releasing his grip, he patted Zhou Yi’s face as if offering encouragement.

Various small accessories scattered across the floor, and rich Alpha pheromones spread.

The temperature in the room rose quietly, hot breath striking against Chu Yanyi’s lower abdomen. Beneath the dim lighting, Chu Yanyi stared motionless at Zhou Yi—or rather, at the back of Zhou Yi’s neck.

The dark brown brand occupied half his neck, making the location of the man’s gland look all the more fair by contrast. Looking further down revealed a slender back, black shoes and socks he hadn’t time to remove, and protruding ankles…

This Alpha—an Alpha who should have been submitting on Ying Yu’s bed—was currently trying his best to control his teeth and tongue.

It had to be said that the Alpha lacked any experience whatsoever.

Chu Yanyi leaned down, pinched Zhou Yi’s chin, retreated slowly, and stood up with hazy, drunken eyes.

Zhou Yi let out two light coughs due to Chu Yanyi’s sudden movement, wiping the corner of his slightly cracked lips. He raised his head, his eye sockets flushed red, his clothing in disarray.

“Zhou Yi, let’s talk about it in the future. We’ve both drunk too much today, and our minds aren’t all that clear… Tomorrow…”

The Alpha embraced him forcefully out of nowhere. Caught off guard, Chu Yanyi’s upper body was pushed back onto the desk, and the cup holding dark tea fell onto the carpet, staining the pristine white rug with a small patch of brown.

Body heat transferred through the fabric, and Chu Yanyi could feel Zhou Yi’s desperate effort to curry favor. A soft spot in his heart was suddenly poked. Struggling to sit up, he handed the remaining half glass of wine to Zhou Yi: “Wait, you first… first…”

Before Chu Yanyi could finish, Zhou Yi hurriedly drained the liquid inside, swallowing it directly.

“It was for you to rinse your mouth; you’re not allowed to swallow it in the future.” Chu Yanyi let out a sigh, between tears and laughter. He draped his own coat over the bare Zhou Yi: “At least come with me to the bedroom; here is truly inappropriate.”
