If he wasn’t wrong, this Supporting had the Plant Blessings ability that was capable of accelerating plant growth, and that was exactly what he was going to be using today.
He could finally fulfill the promise of finding something else for Selene; this made him feel a little more certain that he hadn’t made the wrong decision as he became a Lord.
’I better over then; it has been quite a bit since the day brightened up. Selene will be getting hungry.’
He moved around for a bit, trying to determine the next steps, since he was going to be heading out with the Supporting Stemman, he can’t have it walking around like that; it was bound to spook anyone that came across them like this.
So he did the best thing he could think of, and that was to cover it in clothes.
He moved into the bedroom and picked up a brown bedsheet; the thing was large and thick enough to cover the small support very well, at least if wrapped rightly.
Ashton tried the fast time, but the instant he let go, the clothes
plopped directly to the ground.
"Let’s try that again," Ashton muttered before picking up the clothes again.
The supporting Stemman just remained there as it watched Ashton try to cover it up. In the beginning, it had curiously squeezed the piece of cloth, but that was all it did.
The other Sprouts didn’t move from where they had been sitting for a bit now; they just watched as Ashton and the Stemman interacted.
After a few more tries, Ashton finally managed to get the clothes mostly well wrapped on its body. He tested if it was actually well wrapped with tiny tugs, and it didn’t fall off.
"That’s -"
Ashton was just about to say when a certain vine sprout suddenly rushed over and yanked the clothes with a force that seemed a little too much.
The wrappings immediately fell back to the ground.
Ashton: "..."
He didn’t know how to react, so he could only stare at the Vine Stalker that currently had its mouth open, almost as if it was laughing.
In the end, he could only shake his head and sigh before opening his mouth to chastise the small Sprout a little.
"No no, you shouldn’t do that," he said with a slightly serious face, but the little Viny guy didn’t care; he just returned to his seat with a contended face.
’Damn,’
He turned to look at the Knight, but that one was currently ignoring it; it just looked somewhere else with all of its attention.
Without any choice, Ashton had to quickly rewrap the Stemman but this time it was more loose, but he didn’t care anymore; time was already far spent.
"I can’t leave Selene all alone here without any protection."
He then turned to look at the root Guardian before giving it an instruction.
"Follow me," he said and then proceeded to walk into the bedroom.
The root Guardian hesitated for a bit, but it eventually listened and followed him.
By time the Guardian had entered the room, Ashton had already picked up Selene and was now standing beside the bed. The Root Guardian eventually entered.
"Lay on the bed and Use Root Cradle,"
The Root guardian immediately lay on the bed, and then something else began happening. Its massive root-formed body slowly started unwinding until a fairly large space opened up.
The space was Large enough to hold a cradled person. The inside was nothing like the outside; inside the cradle were tiny moss-like growths that felt like carpet.
Ashton carefully placed Selene in there; he made sure to confirm that she wasn’t in any way uncomfortable.
"Close it," he said.
The roots slowly closed back up, but there was enough space for air to flow in, and the closing didn’t tighten the space in any way.
He felt a little reduction in his Willforce, Probably due to the use of the ability.
His imagination and impressive Gardening skills had saved him.
He looked again and confirmed that Selene was much safer there before deciding to leave.
The covered stemman was already waiting, so when it saw Ashton heading towards the exit, it quickly followed, but it wasn’t the only one that did.
Both the Knight and the Vine also followed, but Ashton soon stopped them.
"You two wait here and protect her for me, please," he said in a low voice.
The knight heard that and nodded before turning around to resume what it was doing, but the Vine stalker wasn’t buying it. It stood there and wasn’t willing to go back until Ashton promised to wrap it up too when he gets back.
He left his house while shaking his head to show his exhaustion; interactions like that were really tiring even when it was to small sprouts.
Before they fully set off, Ashton felt it was important to warn this guy since it was obvious that he had a really curious nature.
"You need to keep your head low, alright? you shouldn’t let people see your face."
In response to what he said, Ashton saw it nod a little, so with a smile they began their journey to his farm.
The earlier part of the journey was much easier; there was no one on the road to disturb, but Ashton began fearing a little when he got close to more busy areas.
The covered Stemman walked beside him, and just like it was instructed, it kept his head low, but it would also sometimes raise it a little to steal glances at the surroundings.
"Daly, am I dreaming? Isn’t that a kid beside the Crazy Loner?" Ashton heard someone whisper.
"You aren’t; I am equally as surprised."
At that point, Ashton had already increased his pace, just to get out of there as soon as possible. And soon he left the gossiping women behind.
About ten minutes later, he could see his farm not too far away, but something wasn’t right. He could see some people there.
’What the hell?’
Realizing something important, he increased his pace even more so that it appeared as if he was jogging. At that pace he soon got close enough to who they were, and then he realized.
"They are Marlus’s men,"
