Ashton wasn’t sure he was ready to confront whatever was on the other side of the door, but the constant drain in Willforce he was receiving just kept pushing him.
"You too; you should please stick with me as much as possible," Ashton whispered while his eye remained on the Vine Stalker.
When they heard his instruction, the Plant Knight nodded while the Vine Stalker avoided his gaze. Though he didn’t get a yes, he believes his message has been passed.
"Alright then, let’s go in."
One step at a time, the trio approached the door, and though it felt like they wouldn’t, they eventually arrived just in front of it.
Ashton looked at the door, trying to confirm if it was locked or not since it would be weird if he were to push with all his strength just to find out it was open all along or if he was to gently push and find it locked.
Thankfully his dilemma was about to be solved.
"Denaro, go check what’s going on outside; I haven’t heard the safety whistle go off in a while," the familiar voice suddenly said, bringing Ashton to his senses.
’Ohh shit, they have a safety whistle,’ he thought.
He hadn’t stuck around long enough to actually find out, and it was one certain Sprout’s fault.
Hearing that Someone named Denaro was coming outside, Aston packed the two Sprouts along to lie in wait in one dark corner.
Just as he was instructed, Denaro walked towards the door, opened the door, and peeped outside. He started by looking right and then left, but he still didn’t see anyone.
So he came out fully to investigate.
"Those bastards must have gone to share a drink in one corner," he said while approaching Ashton’s current location.
Ashton didn’t say anything; he just nodded at the Plant Knight. It had the reins.
Not willing to disappoint, the Plant Knight immediately rushed out. It was instantly in front of Derano. A small jump and a full-blown sword hit the head.
He was done too.
With that Swift reaction, Ashton and his current Legion had managed to completely take 6 people out, and their problem with the door had also been solved.
"No more hesitation," Ashton said with a firm gaze.
Accompanied by his Legion Members, Ashton rushed directly into the Warehouse where he saw the man sitting with his back to the door.
"Did you find those indolent bastards?" the man spoke without turning around.
Ashton didn’t respond; he just slowly got closer to the man from behind while also simultaneously scanning the warehouse. And in all honesty, the name Warehouse was perfect for this place.
It was filled to the brim with trays of the same bottle he had seen them share earlier in the day.
’How did they get so many at once?’ Ashton wondered, but his thoughts were soon interrupted by the man’s voice again.
"Are you trying to ignore me, or what Derano, do you really need me to remind you?" the man shouted while turning around. Instead of seeing Derano like he expected, he saw Ashton and his two attackers.
But instead of seeing an emotion like shock or confusion on the man’s face, Ashton saw him smile.
"Lord Marlus is really not an ordinary man," the man said with a face with a look of admiration.
"He promised me that you’re actually going to deliver yourself to me, and here you are."
"He said you will come with strange creatures, and look at that, you even have two."
"Lord Marlus is so damn good," the man said with a wide and broad smile on his face.
"Now let’s forget Lord Marlus and actually do what you are here for. Time to get that damn will broken."
While he said the last statement, Ashton watched as his arm thickened almost as if it were inflated, and that instantly struck a thought in him.
’He has also become a Lord. This battle won’t be easy.’
’No no no, you are getting it wrong; we aren’t here to fight, we are here to get a remedy for Selene and that all.’
’Fighting is just a necessary step,’
The Man wasn’t bluffing when he spoke about breaking Ashton; he was actually saying the truth, and now he had crossed half the distance between them, and he was gaining soon.
Having someone charge at him with so much aggression was slightly strange for Ashton, and as a result, he hesitated.
In this Battle, that hesitation was going to cost him; thankfully, he had a capable knight.
Even without Ashton’s orders, it had rushed forward to intercept the approaching man.
"Get out of my way, you freaky thing," the man shouted while sending out an ordinary-looking punch aimed directly at the plant knight.
With no room for dodging, The Plant Knight managed to block with his stick.
Shockingly, that punch was anything but ordinary; it had landed with a force about three times the expected range, forcing the plant knight quite a distance away.
Unlike a Human that was bound to stop and rethink Before going for the next round, the Plant Knight didn’t show any sign of all that.
Instead, it just resumed its charge like nothing happened.
In response, the man sent another punch, but this time the Plant knight did use its normal direct charge; it just employed a small side step to skilfully dodge that.
It didn’t just dodge alone; it attempted a counter.
With its stick, it slashed directly at the waist, aiming to completely discapacitate his opponent. Sadly, things can’t go just the way he had planned them.
The Man managed to dodge and land another attack directly on the Plant Knight. This time the force was enough to penetrate the Knight Wooden armor and cause a large hype for the Knight.
Eventually the Vine Stalker couldn’t take it anymore and immediately decided to step it up a little, Observing his Legions Ashton finally committed and was now Locked in.
