The queen’s radiant smile illuminated the room as she turned to her intimate assembly, confident that the last mobile device had been confiscated from the prospective brides.

“We shall commence shortly,” she declared, instructing her devoted personal maid, “Admit the evaluators, Emily.”

Emily acquiesced with a respectful “Yes, my queen” and gestured to the liveried servants stationed at the door, beckoning them to usher in the esteemed assessors.Full novel: Challenging The Mighty Vampire King — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The inquisitive ladies’ gazes converged on the entrance, their curiosity piqued as three distinguished individuals made their way into the chamber.

What astonished them, however, was the reputation that preceded these arrivals – masters of human insight, renowned for their extraordinary ability to decipher character, scrutinize demeanor, and provide incisive evaluations of even the most enigmatic and affluent individuals.

The fact that pecuniary incentives couldn’t secure their unwavering allegiance precipitated a palpable sense of trepidation among the ladies, causing most to grow rigid with apprehension, while others began to perspire copiously, their visages beset by anxiety.

“The queen, having elicited the desired reaction, smiled inwardly, carefully maintaining a stoic countenance to conceal her satisfaction, her demeanor a masterful blend of serenity and sagacity.

She had deliberately summoned them, cognizant of their unshakeable fealty to the throne of the Lunaria Kingdom, despite their extrinsic affiliation and lack of filial ties.

“Camilla, somewhat perplexed but not entirely surprised by their presence, acknowledged the queen’s strategic move to project impartiality in evaluating the competition, despite already harboring a strong predilection for a particular candidate.

Greetings to the queen, the three individuals paid homage to Her Majesty immediately upon approaching her throne in the greenhouse.

“Welcome, esteemed Ravenwood Sisters of the illustrious Sisterhood Coven,” Queen Astrid declared, her voice warm and gracious.

“Your prompt response to my invitation is greatly appreciated, despite the brevity of notice.”

“It is our esteemed honor, Your Majesty,” Willow, the eldest of the trio, replied with reverence.

“Well, you are already cognizant of the purpose of your presence,” Queen Astrid inquired, her gaze piercing, and the trio nodded in unison.

“Ladies,” Queen Astrid announced, “I would like to formally introduce the Ravenwood sisters, who will serve as arbiters of balance during this bridal selection process.”

“You will defer to their authority, as they embody the throne’s interests in my absence,” she decreed, her tone authoritative.

“Whether you are a werewolf or human,” Queen Astrid continued, surveying the assembled crowd with an authoritative gaze, “ensure that you exhibit utmost courtesy towards our esteemed guests during their tenure here.

Any grievances filed by them may result in immediate expulsion from the premises.”

“These distinguished individuals will serve as your mentors for today’s proceedings and the entirety of your sojourn,” she announced, her voice commanding attention.

“Good fortune, ladies,” she wished them.

As she turned to depart, she addressed the Ravenwood sisters, “They will now be under your auspices, ladies.” With that, she excused herself, leaving the assembly in their care.

Camilla observed the three sisters with fascination, intrigued by their enigmatic presence.

Unbeknownst to her, their unique aura had piqued her interest.

“Hey, come back!” Lila called out, waving to capture Camilla’s attention.

Camilla’s gaze halted, transfixed by the Trio’s inquisitive stares.

“I’m sorry, I lost my train of thought,” she stammered, her countenance flushing with embarrassment.

“Sorry, have we crossed paths previously?” Willow gently reiterated her query.

“Uhmm, I don’t think so, ma’am,” Camilla replied, collecting her composure.

“I would undoubtedly recall if our paths had crossed before.”

“Very well, you may take your seat,” Evelyn, the second sister, directed.

Princess Jasminda scrutinized the Ravenwood sisters, her curiosity piqued despite her irritable mood.

“This wasn’t the assistance I requested, Mother,” she thought, bewildered.

“What was she thinking?” she muttered under her breath.

“Why bring in the Ravenwood sisters, Mother?” Jasminda silently queried.

“Do you desire my failure to be so catastrophic?” But she masked her discontent with a gracious smile when one of the sisters glanced at her as if intuiting her inner turmoil.

Willow ascended the small podium inside the lush greenhouse, her sisters seated behind her, observing the assembly with discerning gazes.

“Today, we shall commence with inquiries regarding the kingdom’s political framework,” she announced.

“However, before proceeding, Princess Jasminda, would you graciously share some captivating aspects of the Prince Kingdom that entice individuals to explore its vast expanse?” Willow requested, her eyes locked onto the princess, who appeared disinterested in the gathering.

“Umm, me?” Princess Jasminda inquired, her tone laced with incredulity.

“Yes, Your Highness,” Willow responded, her voice now tinged with a subtle chill.

Princess Jasminda, perceiving the opportunity as a chance to showcase her knowledge, rose from her seat and composed herself before articulating a response.

“Well, that’s a rather paradoxical question to pose to someone who has never ventured beyond the kingdom’s borders, don’t you think?” she rejoined, deftly deflecting the inquiry with a hint of wit.

“What’s the rationale behind aspiring to be a monarch if you lack even a rudimentary understanding of what to anticipate?” Freya, the youngest sister, challenged, her tone incisive.

“Shouldn’t they be supporting me?” Jasminda wondered inwardly, still resentful of her mother’s unexpected maneuver.

“I believe one ought to have firsthand experience to discern if there’s any allure to be discovered in a place,” the princess rejoined promptly.

“True, but that shouldn’t serve as an excuse in this era of accessible knowledge, where literature and digital resources abound,” a voice interjected astutely.

“Camilla,” the voice replied.

“Please rise,” Willow instructed, her command firm.

Camilla sighed, realizing it was futile to avoid the attention, and reluctantly stood up.

Camilla rose to confront the trio on the stage, her demeanor confident.

“Share your thoughts on the topic at hand,” Willow invited, dismissing Princess Jasminda with a gesture.

“You may be seated, Your Highness.”

“The initial allure that draws individuals to a locale is its distinct Culture,” Camilla began, “followed closely by the exquisite culinary specialties endemic to a particular kingdom.”

“Furthermore, I hypothesize that the Valtoria kingdom boasts numerous exceptional attractions worthy of exploration, although I haven’t had the privilege of verifying their authenticity firsthand,” she concluded, her response showcasing her astute insight.

The crowd was captivated by her eloquence, and her words earned the sisters’ nod of approval.

“That was a superb exposition, Miss Camilla,” Evelyn commended, impressed by her erudition.

“Your knowledge is truly commendable.”

“You may seat,miss Camilla.

“Let us proceed with the queries we have prepared for today’s assembly,” Willow announced, taking her seat with an air of anticipation.

“The questions will be posed individually, and we request that you deliberate carefully before responding,” Willow advised.

Emily, who had been rendering herself inconspicuous, grew apprehensive due to her excessive rumination as she darted a glance at the princess.

“Lady Imara, kindly elucidate how you would address a situation wherein a vampire clan is accused of assaulting a human village within the Lunaria Kingdom,” Willow inquired.

Lady Imara recoiled upon hearing her name and the query directed at her, her countenance betraying a fleeting moment of trepidation.

“This is a rather intricate question, ma’am,” Lady Imara replied promptly, seeking to forestall an immediate answer and garner time for contemplation.

“Given my werewolf nature, I worry that my bias might influence my judgment.”

“And how would your werewolf heritage pose an obstacle, my lady,” Freya countered, “considering your aspiration to ascend to the throne of the Valtoria kingdom?”

Lady Imara’s countenance flushed, and she felt an unexpected surge of fervor to respond to the inquiry.

“As a lady ardently desiring to unite with Vampire Prince Thane in matrimony,” she began, her voice laced with refinement, “I shall tackle this situation with poise, sagacity, and unwavering conviction.”

“Pray tell, how do you propose to implement this strategy?” Willow inquired, her curiosity piqued.

“The initial step would be to corroborate the facts,” Lady Imara elucidated, “and leverage the Prince’s influence to establish a diplomatic rapport with the vampire kingdom, fostering harmony between our races, given the transgression occurred within the Lunaria Kingdom’s borders.”

“Furthermore, I aim to strike a balance between pride and compassion,” she continued, “ensuring our union yields mutually beneficial outcomes for werewolves, humans, and vampires alike.”

Willow’s eyes sparkled with amusement as she turned to her sisters.

“Hasn’t Lady Imara responded eloquently, sisters?” she asked, her smile radiant.

“Indeed, she has,” Evelyn and Freya chimed in unison, their voices filled with approbation.
