Cassandra’s POV

I buried my head in the pile of pillows beneath me and let out a contempt sigh.

This bed has got to be the softest bed I’ve ever laid on in my entire life and I don’t ever want to get up.Full novel: Changed Forever — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After Jason and I got back yesterday, he showed me to a new room so I wouldn’t have to stay in the infirmary.

Honestly speaking, the room was a little too big for one person but I ain’t complaining.

While I was still pretty much purring and rolling around on the bed, I heard a loud knock on the door causing me to groan and toss a pillow in the direction of the door in annoyance.

I heard the knock again and I was tempted to just pretend like I was asleep so I wouldn’t have to answer it.

Nonetheless I fell out of bed and crawled tiredly towards the door.

I used the door handle to hoist myself up before throwing it open.

The moment I opened it I was practically pounced on by some redhead wild animal.

“Oh my goddess! She’s so cute. I can’t believe our Luna is a vampire!” .

She was screeching a bit too close to my ear and I so badly wanted to throw her off me.

Without thinking I let out a threatening snarl before lounging at her.

She was pulled away from me just in time by some guy who was standing behind her and growling at me.

He had light blonde hair and caramel eyes that glared hard at me.

I immediately recognized his scent as the other wolf that had tried to kill me that night.

I’m pretty sure he was the one that sliced my arm too.

“Don’t fucking threaten my mate!” He growled as his hands balled into fists.

He barred his canines at me in a challenging manner.

“Learn to keep your damn dog on a leash then” I snarled.

I knew it was rude but I was angry.

Was it too hard for a girl to get some sleep around here?

I really didn’t appreciate contact like that and definitely not from a complete stranger.

And I also didn’t appreciate getting threatened by some dude who tried to kill me.

We were silent for a moment.

The two of us just glaring at each other waiting for one of us to make a move.

The redhead stood to the side looking very uncomfortable and pretty guilty.

She cleared her throat and sent me a sheepish smile.

“Um…

sorry about that.

I was a little too excited.” I let out a scoff, “ya think?” I asked sarcastically.

“Don’t talk to her like that”, dude was still boiling.

“Make me”, I challenged with a grin.He growled and started to make his way towards me but stopped the moment his mate put her hand on his shoulder.

“Preston, calm down.

She’s your Luna remember?”

He scoffed and narrowed his eyes at me while saying, “she’s a fucking vampire”.

I let out another snarl.

This guy is getting my last nerve.

So what if I have pale skin and drink blood occasionally?

I’m still a supernatural like them.

The girl pursed her lips before smacking the back of his head.

“Stop being so rude”.

The guy who I assume is Preston just rolled his eyes but took a step back which made his mate smile.

She then turned to me with the same smile.

“It’s nice to meet you Cassandra. I’m Caroline and this is my mate Preston” she introduced.

She didn’t seem all that bad.

A little handsy but not bad.

I don’t think I can say the same for her mate though.

“Jason wanted us to show her around not make shitty introductions so let’s get it over with already”, Preston huffed.

“Hah, no way. I got a pillow mountain waiting for me just behind this door”, I said, pointing behind me at my closed bedroom door.

Preston groaned in annoyance before sending a look to Caroline that obviously said ‘do something please’.

She shrugged a bit with a sheepish smile before grabbing my arm and forcefully dragging me down the hallway.

“Hey, I’m pretty sure this is considered kidnapping. Somebody help!” Caroline was a giggling mess while Preston just rolled his eyes at my antics.

“Goddess, why me?” I heard Preston mutter to himself.

Third Person POV

The search team had their systems running as they tried their best to track down the location of the missing vampire.”Anything yet?” Diana asked she walked into the room with her brother following closely behind her.

“Nothing yet, your highness”, one of the members answered.

“Although we think we’ve narrowed down her location. It seems like she’s in werewolf territory but we can’t pinpoint where exactly”.

“Ah shit”, Aiden’s eyes went wide his mind going through the countless possibilities of what horrible things could be happening to his friend at the moment.

His sister placed a comforting hand on his arm.

“We’ll find her” she assured.

“We already sent for an expert from the palace as you asked for your highness”.

“Great, when will they be here?” Aiden asked.

His worry was quite obvious as to be expected.

A vampire in werewolf territory was definitely bad news.

The door opened and a man stepped in.

He held a bag in one hand and wore a polite smile.

“Good evening your majesties”, he greeted the siblings with a bow.

“Josh, thanks you for coming”, Aiden said as he tried to force a smile through his worry.

“No problem at all your highness. What exactly do you need help with?” Josh asked.

“One of the vampires in our territory recently went missing and we tracked her down to a werewolf territory only we can’t seem to pinpoint where exactly the territory is at”, Diana explained causing Josh’s eyes to go wide.

A vampire in werewolf territory was terrible news.

He opened his bag pulling out his laptop and immediately started his search along with the other members.

Josh was known for his skill in technology and if anyone could use tech to find a missing person, it was definitely him.

After a whole twenty minutes of waiting, what felt like centuries to the siblings, the vampire was finally located.

“We found her”, Josh announced.

The two siblings bounced to their feet as they went to check the screen.

“Send me the location”, Aiden ordered as he hurriedly made his way towards the door, Diana following him immediately.

“Thanks for your help”.

The two set out on their journey by foot the reason being that it makes it a lot easier for them to sneak in.

And with their advanced speed, getting to the werewolf territory wouldn’t take all that long.

“I hope she’s okay”, Aiden muttered to himself as he kicked a few dead leaves that littered the ground of the forest.

His brows were furrowed in worry as he stared at the forest ground beneath him.

It was obvious to his sister that he blamed himself for what had happened, which upset her because it really wasn’t his fault.

“I’m sure she’s fine. Cassandra can be pretty tough sometimes y’know” Diana assured as she playfully bumped her brother’s shoulder.

She was also extremely worried but took it upon herself to cheer up her brother.

He had gotten shot when Cassandra was taken and couldn’t do anything to defend her.

Even their older brother wasn’t able to protect her when the two got attacked.

“You and your positivity Anna”, Aiden said with an eye roll before letting out a light chuckle.

Leave it to Anna to brighten his day.

She just laughed, “if none of you guys are gonna have some I might as well show enough for all of us, right?”

The two finally approached werewolf territory and immediately went on high alert.

The borders were probably protected by werewolf pack soldiers and they needed to be extremely careful.

Aiden looked around him, his eyes glowing a bright green as he inspected the dark forest.

Diana crouched down, placing her palm on the ground as she tried to feel for any werewolf auras along the perimeter.

“I feel something”, Diana whispered as she looked back up at her brother.

Just then a bush rustles and a huge wolf is on top of Aiden in seconds.

Diana immediately springs to her feet and summoned a huge gust of wind which sent the wolf flying.

More wolves start to appear and the two siblings get into battle stances.

Diana pulls out a knife from her pocket and Aiden draws out his claws.

They’ll be screwed if they died out here.

A wolf jumps out and tackles Diana to the ground.

Aiden immediately lounged at the wolf, drawing claws out and digging them into the wolves back causing it to howl in pain.

The two got into a wild wrestle. This chapter is updated first at g.com.

It seemed like the wolf wasn’t going to stop till the vampire was dead.

A dozen other wolves jumped out of nowhere ready to attack the two.

Diana sent a whirl wind in their direction, throwing them a few feet back.

The wolves lunged forward, howling and rushing at the siblings.

Their teeth were barred and very much ready to tear through flesh.

Aiden stabs the wolf beneath him with his claws before stumping down on the wolf’s leg with all his weight causing a crack sound to echo around the forest and a howl of pain follows.

He rushes over to his sister and stands protectively in front of her, letting out a threatening snarl.

His claws elongated even more and he dug them into the fur of any wolf that approached them causing the forest to be filled with pained howls. He himself was covered with a good amount of bruises, bite marks and deep cuts.

Diana tried to defend her brother as well.

She used her knife to inflict some injuries on the wolves but it was safe to say she was on more of the receiving end of the fight.

She didn’t know much about combat but she definitely wasn’t going to let herself or her brother die.

Aiden was thrown back by one of wolves causing him a very hard impact with a nearby tree before falling to the ground with a thud.

“Who are you and what the hell are you doing here?” Someone growled as they pressed their knee hard into his chest.

He was still seeing stars from the impact with the tree and he couldn’t make out the figure on top of him.

With a snarl, he threw the figure off him before getting to his feet and getting into a battle stance.

His glowing green eyes turned a darker shade as a warning to his opponent.

His opponent was in her human form. She had dark skin and curly black hair.

Why did that seem so familiar?

She came at him again, sending a punch which he dodged.

He grabbed her outstretched arm and pinned her to the floor.

The dark skinned girl growled before flipping their positions and punching him in the jaw.

She was suddenly sent flying by a huge gust of wind sent by none other than Diana.

Diana rushed to her brother’s side, glaring at the werewolf who was still trying to get up.

The moment the girl got up, she let out a fierce growl at the siblings.

The moon seemed to shine brighter at that moment and her eyes widened suddenly as she took a proper look at her opponents under the moonlight.

“Oh my goddess”.

Cassandra POV

The day was pretty tiring.

I was finding it pretty difficult to keep up with Caroline’s energy and Preston’s attitude.

Caroline was constantly grabbing on to me, much to my annoyance.

She told me how pretty I was and then poked my face.

She told me how silky my hair was and then pulled it.

And when she complimented my starry eyes, I knew I needed to step back to avoid blindness because I’m pretty sure she would have poked it too.

Jason came back from wherever he went to and I was ready to give him an earful for shipping me off with Miss crazy and Mr grumpy.

The two had been showing me around the pack house and the responsibilities I’ll have once I officially become Luna.

Actually, Caroline showed me around while giving me a rundown on my responsibilities while Preston kept shooting death threats left and right.

I would have preferred if Jason showed me around, not because I liked him around me but because it seemed like he wasn’t the type to blind me or send me to my early grave.

Even if he tried to kill me a few nights back but let’s ignore that for now.

I’m just glad it’s over and I’m back in bed.

I can never get tired of this pillow mountain.

I suddenly started to feel dehydrated causing me to groan at myself.

Can’t I bury my head in pillows without any interruptions.

Guess not.

As I headed towards the kitchen, I heard Jason’s voice from the living room.

He was probably talking to Preston, who I found out was the beta of the pack.

Whose smart ass idea was it to make that grumpy idiot a beta?

“Jason we’ve got a lot to talk about. Especially that problematic beta of yours!” I yelled as I approached the living room but what I saw made me freeze.

The three stared at me with shock and happiness that matched mine.

I felt my eyes brim with tears.

Right before me were two of closest friends and another who I thought I would never see again.

“Cassandra!”
