"Phew, I was able to test Wind Cloak in the nick of time."

Once I landed quietly on the rooftop of my house, my entire body lit up with a strange purplish mist-like fire until the disguise completely fell apart, revealing my true appearance beneath it.

The moment I realized what kind of damage I had caused to the warehouse, I immediately switched both active ability slots to something more fitting before fleeing in a hurry.Full novel: Chaos Gacha: Starting With Honkai — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Wind Cloak propelled my speed to another level, making the surroundings turn blurry to my eyes as I swept through them like a breeze. My normal speed was considerably amazing to begin with, thanks to the Adept Spycraft making me utilized my body better than I expected, but this ability only amplified it even further.

My reasoning for temporarily switching to Mist Flame was obvious. In the worst case that someone somehow caught me blitzing through the sky, they wouldn't see the real me, but rather some average-looking Chinese guy.

I didn't know whose face I had taken; all I remembered was that the guy had been acting in some forgettable show I used to watch in my past life.

If he also existed in this world, he might not necessarily be an actor however.

"I'm home."

I immediately announced myself after unlocking the door with the key I took from underneath the flowerpot. The sound that greeted me was the silence of the house, but I wasn't saddened or discouraged by it.

I'm not the sensitive teenager I should be. After all, I have the memory of living as an independent adult from my past life, so I could understand why my parents weren't home.

They had even informed me when they dropped me off at the entrance of Chiba Academy earlier that they might be coming home late. Thus, I had no reason to be upset.

Of course, the moment I got to the living room, I immediately turned on the TV, flopped onto the couch, and switched to the local news. I was right on time.

The news anchor had just mentioned that Schicksal had gotten involved with the local police to look for the culprit who had caused not only a tremor throughout the city, but also the damage at the abandoned warehouse.

"Damn, they're really quick to work."

I wasn't surprised that Schicksal, of all organizations, would involve themselves in such 'small matters'. They are very sensitive to the supernatural or anything related to it, especially with how peaceful the world had been since the last tragedy that took out Siberia.

If I had known an epic ability could cause such a huge scene, I wouldn't have dared to test it, even if I was in an isolated region. The only reference I had was Mist Flame as my first epic ability, and most importantly, its firepower is on the lower end.

I had severely underestimated what a true epic ability could do. But at least now I know I have the means to protect myself if the outbreak erupts tomorrow.

There are still other things I haven't tested out yet, such as the ribs and spinal column. But if the hand is anything to go by, then the rest should be just as powerful. As of now, though, I wouldn't know exactly what they do unless I summoned them.

Although the basic knowledge didn't give me everything I should know, I had a feeling that I could summon more than just those three body parts, maybe the legs, or even the skull.

The reason I wasn't informed of such a thing could be explained very easily.

One, maybe my body couldn't handle the power it holds, and if I forced it... it could very well end badly for me.

Two, it might just be that I'm still a beginner at it. If I keep training until I fully master those parts, or maybe just one, perhaps it will unlock more on a higher level.

Or three, there's no such thing at all.

In any case, if there's one thing that I learned from this, it's that anything from the Chaos Gacha on the epic tier will definitely not disappoint me.

[★ Feat Achieved! One of the oldest secretive organizations has been made aware of your existence!]

[You gained x1 Advantage Random Gold Ticket!]

"...That's not scary at all. Wait a minute, that's not a ticket I'm familiar with. Advantage? For what?"

Of course, the cold and emotionless system didn't respond to my inquiry at all. I had a feeling it wouldn't even budge if I were forced to reveal its existence. It might actually be a truly monotone system.

Well, there's only one way to find out.

[Rolling the Advantage Random Gold Gacha.]

[Wallmaster]

|Rare Ability|

You can make a wall out of anything, any wall, all walls, walls, walls. Stone walls, ice walls, walls of wind, walls of solidified sunlight, walls of raw energy. Anything in your arsenal, you can shape it into a wall, or any object and ground you are touching, you can turn it into a wall. The size of the wall and its durability scale with the amount of energy you use. Walls.

"Well, that's certainly a lot of walls. I mean, what a massive disa—"

However, it didn't end there.

[Or.]

"Eh?"

[ASTER Augmentation Ticket]

|Rare Item|

Halo - A ticket that, when ripped, sends the user into a dimension with highly advanced robotic doctors and surgeons who will perform the ASTER procedure on you in order to turn you into a Spartan. This procedure is perfected and will not cause failure regardless of the target's age or condition. This procedure gives a more durable skeleton, enhanced musculature, visual acuity, and reflexes with enhanced mental clarity.

[Choose your option.]

"...Hold on. Wait a damn second."

Right before my eyes, I was given options for the first time, two interfaces for me to pick between them. Heck, I didn't know this was even possible. So that's what it means by 'advantage', huh?

I have heard of Halo games before, but never personally played them myself. I knew for certain that the sexy blue AI, Cortana, came from that video game. Let's just say that I did my research on it.

But wait, isn't this ASTER Augmentation basically a Super Soldier Project? But 'Spartan' could literally mean anything in this context. Maybe the Spartan I knew of, and the Spartan in Halo might not even be the same thing.

And perhaps, in order for them to give me a durable skeleton, they will instead replace my human skeleton with an alien one. I wouldn't know the difference unless I'm awake through the whole surgical procedure. Food for thought.

Nonetheless, I already decided what I wanted to pick between the two. It's a no-brainer, so of course I'd pick—
