15 – Kiss Her to Death

Chi Mi couldn’t understand what he was saying, only feeling that Ye Zhuohuai before her was terrifying, as if he might snap her neck at any moment.

Even though it was summer, she felt a chill run down her slender, fragile neck.Full novel: Cigarettes and Strong Liquor Can’t Compare to Her One Hot Kiss — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“What are you scared of? If you’ve done nothing wrong, you’ve got nothing to fear. You’re so afraid of me—looks like it’s true.” Ye Zhuohuai pulled out the watch. “Take it! I don’t want this lousy gift. You better find something else to make it up to me!”

Chi Mi held the watch. “What’s wrong with this watch?”

Ye Zhuohuai’s anger was genuine, his gaze sharp as a blade, utterly terrifying.

Yet he still wanted her to make it up to him.

“What’s wrong? You dare ask me what’s wrong? You’ve made me lose all face! What’s on this? M, Y—Mi! Yang! Isn’t this the gift you prepared for Yang Siquan? Chi Mi, you really know how to pinch pennies. If I didn’t have the surname Ye but something else, wouldn’t this watch be a waste, impossible to give away?” The more Ye Zhuohuai thought about it on his way over, the more he felt Yang Siquan was right.

He had never met Chi Mi abroad, so there was no way she had been secretly in love with him all along.

This watch was clearly a gift she had prepared for her boyfriend.

Yang Siquan cheated on her, so she never gave it to him.

And just by chance, his surname was Ye.

So she used a gift meant for someone else to brush him off!

Ye Zhuohuai—in his entire life, only Chi Mi had ever treated him so carelessly!

He was so angry he wanted to kiss her to death!

That pretty little mouth of hers was too good at sweet-talking.

“Who said those letters are names? This watch isn’t custom-made; I just bought it randomly.” Chi Mi’s mind raced. “MY means ‘mine.'”

Staring into her shimmering, beautiful eyes, captivating and lovely, but…

“You think I’m that easy to fool?”

“Since you don’t believe me, fine. I’ll listen to you and get you another gift.” Chi Mi put the watch back in her bag. “The elevator’s open. Do you still want to come up?”

Ye Zhuohuai gradually calmed down. “Coming up isn’t out of the question. Will you sit on my lap?”

“Why would I sit on your lap?” Chi Mi retorted.

Ye Zhuohuai clearly didn’t believe her explanation.

Sometimes, a man should play dumb when it’s called for!

Sigh!

She shouldn’t have taken out the watch to give to Ye Zhuohuai in the first place. He was quite happy when he received it, so why did he suddenly think MY stood for “Mi Yang” instead of “Mi Ye”?

Who had he gone to see during those two hours he was away?

“Forget it, I won’t come up. Let’s go have lunch together.” Ye Zhuohuai pressed the button for the first floor, then turned to face her. “Did you miss me?”

“We’ve only been apart for a little over two hours…” Chi Mi was used to long-distance relationships; going days without contact was normal.

Only two hours—what was there to miss?

She hadn’t thought of him at all.

“Don’t lie to me. I can tell from your expression you didn’t miss me.” Ye Zhuohuai stood beside her. “Tell me the truth—was that watch really meant for Yang Siquan?”

“No.”

With Ye Zhuohuai so angry, how could she possibly tell the truth?

She’d just give the watch to Chi An today.

He wasn’t picky.

“Really not?” Ye Zhuohuai was so angry he almost laughed. “You’re still lying to me. Do I need to send someone to investigate?”

“You were so angry, how could I dare tell you the truth…” Chi Mi’s voice was soft. “I’m sorry.”

“Even your apology lacks sincerity. Chi Mi, you really do take me for a fool.” Ye Zhuohuai sneered. “This isn’t over today.”

Chi Mi obediently followed him.Ye Zhuohuai’s brain is truly sharp!

Too sharp.

How could she ever outsmart him?

But Ye Zhuohuai…

He sure can endure.

He was so angry just now, yet he didn’t lay a hand on her.

Now he’s still panting heavily from anger, breathing deeply, walking fast.

But when they reached the car, he opened the door for her, his eyes filled with resentment.

Chi Mi stopped in front of him. “Don’t be angry. You look a bit ugly when you’re angry, not handsome at all.”

“Chi Mi, are you blind? I look absolutely dashing even when I’m angry!” Ye Zhuohuai gripped the car door. “I think the lighting in this basement is too dim, making you unable to see my handsome face! You’re just talking nonsense.”

“Yes, yes, Ah Huai is the most handsome in the world. You’re handsome even when angry, but even more so when you’re not. Can you stop being angry?” Chi Mi smiled lightly, trying to placate him.

“No!”

Ye Zhuohuai is so impulsive.

Sigh.

It’s not his fault for being angry; she was the one in the wrong.

She truly didn’t expect Ye Zhuohuai to react so quickly—less than 24 hours.

Indeed, taking shortcuts is never a good idea.

Chi Mi had no choice but to get in the car first.

Once inside, she saw Ye Zhuohuai wiping his hands.

Even in the dim basement light, Ye Zhuohuai’s hands were distinct, with knuckles clearly defined, fingertips tinged with a soft pink, veins and blood vessels crisscrossing the back of his hands—truly beautiful hands.

As a doctor, Chi Mi always paid extra attention to people’s hands.

Ye Zhuohuai’s fingers were so long…

He really had the makings of a great doctor.

She couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like to leave a bite mark on those hands—so enticing.

“Give me your hand.”

“I didn’t wipe mine,” Chi Mi whispered.

“How many times do I have to say it? I don’t mind you.” Ye Zhuohuai grabbed her hand firmly. “And don’t you ever mind me either. I’m clean everywhere.”

“It’s the air that’s not clean.”

“Then stop breathing. I’ll build you a sterile room later, and you can live inside, obediently being my little canary, okay?” Ye Zhuohuai brought her hand to his lips.

The car drove out of the basement, and the bright outside light flooded the interior.

Under Chi Mi’s gaze, Ye Zhuohuai’s lips pressed against the back of her hand.

Chi Mi’s heart raced. The touch on her hand was warm and soft. She had never been this intimate with a man before, let alone with Ye Zhuohuai, whose strikingly handsome face made it all seem so sensual and alluring.

So seductive and teasing.

It turned out she wasn’t as indifferent as she thought—she just hadn’t met someone who stirred such desires in her.

“No,” Chi Mi shook her head slightly. “I don’t want to be a canary. I’m not that kind of love-struck fool.”

“If you become a doctor, the highest you can climb is hospital director. I’ll just buy the hospital outright and make you the director—straight to the top!”

“I don’t want to be a director. I just like administering anesthesia and staying in the operating room.” Chi Mi tried to move her wrist.

But she couldn’t pull it back.

“My wife’s hand smells so good.” Ye Zhuohuai kissed it again, firmly. “You tricked me last night, being so stingy about letting me kiss your hand. Later, I’m going to kiss your lips too!”

“I haven’t brushed my teeth. No way.”

“Hah, don’t worry. I’ll brush them for you later.” Ye Zhuohuai had already asked Yi Shen to prepare everything.

Today, he had to kiss her.

He was dying for it.

He had originally planned to take things slow, but Chi Mi went too far.

Giving him something she casually gave to someone else, trying to deceive him.

He was so easy to please.

As long as he could kiss her, he wouldn’t be angry anymore.”You’re so adorable,” Chi Mi couldn’t help but praise him. “Really cute.”

“I’m a grown man, and you’re using ‘adorable’ to describe me.” Ye Zhuohuai felt a slight chill inside. “From now on, use words that describe a man to describe me.”

“Have you really never been in a relationship before? Is it because this is your first time, that’s why you’re so clingy with your girlfriend and… so eager for physical contact?” Chi Mi was genuinely curious.

Ye Zhuohuai held the back of her hand, playing at kissing it, deliberately pressing his lips down heavily, making loud, smacking sounds.

It made Chi Mi’s heart flutter. How did he manage to make even kissing the back of her hand feel so suggestive?

Ye Zhuohuai kissed the back of her hand until it turned red. “You call this clingy?”
