A white light engulfed Lars as a circular symbol formed on his right hand. A large magical array also appeared beneath his feet.
"Wow, what was that? Do you guys see that light?" Justin said in amazement as he was interacting with his livestream viewers. There were about 100 people watching at the moment.
Lars felt a surge of power flow through his body. He slowly stepped forward, facing the boss.
The Red Kobold Sage raised its hand and the others carefully set it down. It then stood up and lifted its staff high into the air.
It was a declaration of battle.
At that moment, the four black kobolds drew their weapons. Each one was crudely crafted from mining tools found within the dungeon. Without hesitation, they charged at Lars.
"Kreeek! Kreeeok!"
The kobolds lining the walls screeched wildly, cheering for their kind below.
Lars tightened his grip on the spear and dashed forward. Within seconds, he collided with the black kobolds at the center of the chamber.
Ping! Pang!
Swoosh!
The clash of metal rang through the room, sparks flying with every impact as their weapons met.
(What a fierce fight!)
(Huh! What a showoff! Against low-rank bosses, anyone can look good.)
(If you say that, have you ever fought them alone?)
(Of course not. I’m not that crazy!)
The comment section of Justin’s livestream began to heat up. More and more people tuned in to watch the battle. Nowadays, it was rare to find a personal vlogger streaming live from inside a dungeon. Most streams came from large networks and heavily censored to hide blood and gore.
But on Justin’s channel, aside from Lars’s face, everything else was raw. The action, the blood and the chaos. And that was exactly what made it so exciting.
The number of viewers quickly climbed to 500.
One of the kobolds tried to strike from behind, but Lars had already read the movement and dodged it with his enhanced speed. He immediately countered with Piercing Thrust, but another kobold intercepted, striking the side of his spear and causing the attack to miss.
"Tch! Fighting all of them at once is harder than I thought. I should focus on one first."
Lars scanned the four of them and noticed one slightly lagging behind the others. The moment it met his gaze, it instinctively stepped back.
"That one!"
Lars immediately charged forward. The other three kobolds attacked at once as they were sensing his intent.
"Flash Skewer!"
In an instant, Lars vanished, causing their attacks to slice through empty air.
The targeted kobold looked around frantically, then suddenly felt a presence behind it. Before it could react, a spear pierced through its abdomen from the back. Lars lifted it up with the spear before tossing it aside. The creature twitched for a moment, then went still.
"One down!"
Lars’s eyes locked onto his next target.
(Very brutal and direct! I love him!)
(More, please!)
The viewer count climbed to 1,000, a new peak for Justin.
"Come on, guys! Send more likes and gifts! This is all to support our main character in winning this battle!" Justin said while grinning to himself as more gifts poured in. He had never imagined his channel would reach this level.
On the other side, Lars continued swinging his spear relentlessly. One of the black kobolds lost its footing after Lars kicked its leg out from under it. Seizing the opportunity, Lars finished it with Impulse Swing, sending it flying several feet away.
"Two more to go!" Lars grinned as his excitement surging. His movements had become fluid and every strike that connected dealt heavy damage.
Suddenly, as he faced the remaining two black kobolds, Lars felt intense heat building behind him.
"Look out! Behind you!" Justin shouted.
Lars turned and saw a massive fireball, almost car-sized, hurtling straight toward him. Without hesitation, he activated Impulse Dash and shot away from the impact zone.
BOOM!!
A massive explosion erupted, sending wind and dust blasting across the chamber. When the smoke cleared, a large crater had formed on the ground.
"Kreek... kreek..." The Red Kobold Sage screeched, seemingly satisfied with the destruction it had caused.
"So close! If that hit me, I surely turned to ash." Lars let out a breath of relief.
But before he could recover, smaller fireballs began flying toward him. He dodged them one by one, until suddenly, two black kobolds grabbed both of his legs. They were sacrificing themselves just to hold him in place.
"Damn it! Let me go!" Lars struck at them, but their grip was firm and refused to loosen. Meanwhile, the Red Kobold Sage raised its staff as it was beginning to chant another spell.
(Uh oh... he’s in trouble!)
(Come on! Don’t die yet! I just joined this livestream!)
The viewer count surged past 2,000. Justin bit his nails anxiously as he watched the situation unfold. If Lars died, he could revive, but the viewership would definitely drop. No one was interested in watching a failure.
"These bastards! They won’t let me go... then I have no other choice!" Lars clenched his teeth. He had planned to save his ultimate as a trump card, especially with so many eyes watching. But now he had no choice. There was no way he was going to die and waste a precious Revival Crystal.
The boss finished its chant. A massive fireball hovered above it. A second later, the Red Kobold Sage thrust its staff forward, releasing the spell.
"No!" Justin shouted.
"Impulse Calamity!"
Zoom!!
Lars vanished instantly. The black kobolds holding him were shredded into multiple cuts and blood spraying as they died on the spot.
(What!? What was that?!)
(Did he just vanish?!)
(Someone check that skill! What class is he even using?!)
The viewers were stunned. But what shocked them even more was what came next.
The massive fireball suddenly split into four pieces, like a cake being sliced before exploded.
BOOM!!!
The Red Kobold Sage smirked, thinking it had already won. All the kobolds on the walls cheered. The boss was about to sit when suddenly, it heard a shout. It looked up, and its eyes widened, its jaw dropping as it saw Lars emerging from the smoke, spear ready to thrust.
The scene slowed, as if time itself had paused.
Celine lay under her blanket in a dark room, watching the man on her phone as he neared victory.
"Please... win." she muttered softly while clenching her fist.
In one of the nearby cafés.
"Hey, look! This guy is so cool!"
"Yeah! He’s exactly my type!" Elisa and Lina shouted as they stared at the phone. Melodie simply sipped her water, only taking a brief glance at their screen.
"Come on! Kill that bastard!"
"Go!"
Inside the Mazeltov Company office, Denis and Oscar cheered loudly in front of the TV.
"What are they so loud about? What are they watching?" Zane asked from her desk.
"I don’t know." Aleph just shrugged as he continued reading the newspaper.
Zane leaned back in her chair and looked at the TV. She saw a man, right at that moment, preparing to deliver the final blow to the Red Kobold Sage.
’What’s so special about him?’
At that time, none of them knew.
They were actually witnessing the birth of a new legend in real time.
