“You bastard!”
Vodka angrily tried to teach Shouichi a lesson, but Gin stopped him.
“It seems your brain really does have major issues.
You’re acting up again,” Gin said, his tone icy.
Shouichi continued drinking his juice, completely ignoring Gin’s words.
He was a transmigrator.
Over a decade ago, he had crossed over into the world of Detective Conan.
Perhaps as a side effect of the transmigration, his mind had grown foggy when he was five years old, leaving him awake for less than half an hour a day.
His parents had sought out doctors all over the world, but none could cure him.
Finally, they found the Organization.
The Organization’s drug awakened Shouichi, and from then on, his family became entangled with them.
However, although the illness was cured, it still left some lingering side effects.
For instance, in the eyes of the world, Shouichi had become a psychopath.
But Shouichi never believed there was anything wrong with his brain.
He had fully recovered long ago.
What others considered an “episode” was merely Shouichi unleashing his true nature.
With such a great family background, wouldn’t it be a total waste not to do whatever he wanted?
The only reason he hadn’t unleashed his true nature before was that he was too young to do anything, not because the Organization’s drug had messed up his head.
But after all these years, Shouichi had grown used to the misunderstandings of outsiders.
If they said he was sick, then so be it.
Besides, having a mental illness just meant he could act even more recklessly.
“Anyway, don’t bother me with anything that doesn’t involve the power of money,” Shouichi said.
“I won’t necessarily work for you.”
Gin nodded.
He hadn’t expected this rich playboy to be particularly enthusiastic about the Organization’s affairs anyway.
With his status, just helping the Organization with things he found interesting was already a massive help.
Gin didn’t plan on sticking around Shouichi any longer either.
He wasn’t as leisurely as a certain rich kid and couldn’t afford to waste time drinking and chatting.
Now that Miyano Akemi was dealt with, there was still a troublesome individual in the research facility that needed to be handled.
“Are you leaving without even saying goodbye?” Shouichi asked Gin.
Gin glanced back at him, which counted as a greeting.
Shouichi stood up, walked over to Gin, and said, “I heard there’s a genius researcher in the lab?”
“What?
Are you interested in Sherry?” Gin asked.
“I just heard she isn’t very happy staying in the Organization,” Shouichi said.
“I wonder if I could invite her to work at my family’s company.”
“Are you trying to poach from the Organization?” Gin glared at Shouichi with a hostile expression.
Shouichi shook his head.
How could this be called poaching?
This was just normal business competition.
“Heh.” Gin sneered.
“Only dead people can leave the Organization.
Besides, you just killed her sister.
Do you really think she would choose to work for you?”
Shouichi remained noncommittal to Gin’s words.
*I only said I dealt with Miyano Akemi.
I never said I killed her.*
The two walked side by side, with Vodka trailing a step behind.
“How about doing me a favor?” Gin suddenly asked.
“What kind of favor?” Shouichi didn’t immediately refuse.
Gin irritably shoved a cigarette into his mouth and said, “My car was stolen.
With your influence in Japan, it should be very easy for you to help me get it back.”
“Oh?” Shouichi asked, his expression unchanging.
“What car?”
“A black Porsche 356A.
It’s a fantastic antique car.
Getting a replacement would be extremely troublesome,” Gin said.
As for that damn car thief, Gin wanted nothing more than to peel his skin off layer by layer.
That was a car he cherished deeply.
Vodka stood beside him, keeping his mouth shut out of fear.
That car was practically Gin’s wife.
The fate of that car thief was bound to be incredibly miserable.
Staring straight ahead, Shouichi asked, “Did you lose it in front of the Mitsui convenience store?”
“How do you know?” Gin shot a sharp glare at Shouichi.
He had indeed parked it in front of the Mitsui convenience store.
When he went inside to buy cigarettes and came back out, the car was gone.
“I’ll help you find the car.”
Shouichi didn’t answer Gin’s question, merely agreeing to his request for help.
The three of them took a black Toyota to the Organization’s research facility.
They arrived right at dinnertime and headed straight for the cafeteria.
The researchers in the facility all wore white lab coats, making the three of them in their black clothes stand out glaringly.
Gin’s notoriety here was quite high.
Seeing him, the researchers all steered clear, avoiding him like the plague.
No one even dared to step forward and steal a glance at the unfamiliar handsome guy standing next to Gin.
The three walked straight up to a female researcher with reddish-brown hair.
Seeing these bringers of bad luck, the female researcher lost her appetite entirely.
She hastily swallowed the food in her mouth and tried to leave.
“Hello, Sherry,” Shouichi said, blocking the woman’s path.
He pulled a business card from his pocket and handed it to her.
“This is my business card.
You can call me Shouichi.
It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Sherry glanced at Shouichi’s business card but didn’t reach out to take it.
In her understanding, members of the Organization were supposed to do their utmost to conceal their identities.
What was the deal with this guy handing out business cards the moment they met?
*A manager at Sumitomo Bank?*
*Are you just going to casually tell people your identity like this?
And it doesn’t look like you have any disguise on your face at all.*
Sherry glanced at Gin.
Gin had no reaction to the man’s actions; instead, he was staring at her with a cold, sinister look.
Since Sherry wouldn’t take his business card, Shouichi simply stuffed it into her pocket himself.
*When Lord Shouichi gives you something, how can you refuse?*
“Sherry, your sister, Miyano Akemi, wanted to use one billion yen to buy your freedom and hers,” Gin said.
Sherry said with a cold face, “You wouldn’t agree to that.”
“Of course,” Gin said.
“So I killed her.”
Shouichi raised an eyebrow and took a slight step back, using Gin and Vodka as human shields in front of him.
*Smack!*
The food tray was hurled at Gin.
Soup and juices splattered all over Gin and Vodka, while only the hem of Shouichi’s clothes got slightly dirty.
Faced with the furious Sherry, Gin didn’t get angry.
He merely stared at her with a sinister gaze.
“It seems you need to cool off,” Gin said.
“Vodka, lock her in the gas chamber.
Let her out once she’s calmed down.”
“Yes!”
Vodka stepped forward and dragged the desperately struggling Sherry away.
The researchers in the cafeteria didn’t dare to speak.
They ate quietly and then left quietly, acting as if the commotion on Gin’s side didn’t even exist.
Shouichi reminded Gin, “Treating your employees like this is going to cause problems.”
“Heh,” Gin sneered.
He had been in charge of the Organization’s forces in Japan for years, and it had always been this way.
Disobedient, unruly, or useless employees were simply killed off.
In the Organization, no one was indispensable.
Shouichi shook his head.
*You have to treat your employees like family.*
