Anyone who refuses food when it’s available is a fool. The best meal in the world is a free one.

Cang’er quickly finished the food in front of her, then stretched out her small hand and pulled a blue mid-grade nutrition solution from her green bag.

“Do you like blueberry flavor?” she asked with a beaming smile, showing a standard eight teeth, and looked at Mia across from her in a friendly way.Full novel: Confirmed: The Strongest Wage Slave in the Interstellar Age — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“It’s okay. I don’t dislike it,” Mia replied absentmindedly, still dazed by Cang’er’s eating speed.

The girl across from her had fallen asleep as soon as she boarded. She finally woke up when Steward Yas laid out the food, then unceremoniously ate everything Yas politely shared with her.

“Perfect—I don’t dislike strawberry flavor either. Want to trade?” As she spoke, Cang’er took out another blue nutrition solution and handed both over together.

“Heh…” Mia stiffly tugged at the corner of her mouth and nodded.

It was the first time the young lady had encountered someone so completely “unselfconscious.” For a moment, she didn’t know how to respond. Still, it was just a bottle of high-grade nutrition solution— she didn’t care much about it.

She took out a strawberry-flavored nutrition solution and handed it to Cang’er, saying nothing and not taking the two mid-grade ones Cang’er offered.

“Thank you, Miss Mia. You’re really generous.”

Cang’er smiled happily, then downed the high-grade nutrition solution in one gulp. The rich strawberry flavor spread in her mouth, and a wave of warmth flowed into every cell of her body. As expected of a high-grade nutrition solution—she was very satisfied. She resolved to earn lots of money and drink high-grade nutrition solutions every day.

“What’s your name?” Mia found Cang’er quite interesting. She had never seen anyone so familiar with strangers, with such thick skin—impressively so.

“Cang’er.”

Mia nodded and accepted another nutrition solution handed to her by Yas, still strawberry-flavored. She sipped the nutrition solution with biscuits at a leisurely pace, her movements elegant and pleasing to the eye.

The fruit salad placed beside her remained untouched.

“I’m sorry, Miss Mia. The fruit salad was prepared by Aunt Liu this morning. I forgot to remind her that you don’t like avocado,” Yas said guiltily, lowering his head. He quickly removed the fruit salad from in front of Mia and replaced it with a small cake.

Well, no wonder she’s as short as I am—I’m malnourished, she is just picky.

Finally full and satisfied, Cang’er gently closed her eyes again, leaned against the window, and pretended to nap while practicing her mental energy.

Over the past few days of continuously using her mental energy, she discovered that it was slowly increasing. The faint mist had grown slightly denser.

Her field of vision expanded, allowing her to see farther distances.

Then she noticed the green mark on the back of Mia’s neck—a crescent shape, about the size of a soybean. Green: a healing-type ability user, with natural affinity to the universe, capable of repairing cells and regenerating tissue.

This was the first person Cang’er had encountered in days who bore an ability mark. Judging by Mia’s age—around thirteen or fourteen—she was probably headed to Tower City for the same purpose.

There was still time. Without a light-brain before, she hadn’t known much. Now, Cang’er finally had the chance to look things up.

The special ability academy in Tower City was called Taman Academy.

Across the entire interstellar domain, Taman Academy could only be considered a low-level talent school, because Moonshadow Star was merely a low-grade planet with limited resources.

Taman Academy was divided into lower, intermediate, and advanced levels, covering all four colors of abilities. After graduating from the advanced level, instructors from higher-grade planets would come to conduct evaluations. Outstanding students would have the chance to go to more advanced continents to continue their studies. Those who were not selected could choose to join the military or other institutions.

In short, as long as one was an ability-bearer, there was no worry about employment after graduating from the academy.
