However, the moment the carriage driver raised his whip to strike, his movement suddenly froze!

Immediately after, a sharp pain shot through his thick wrist.

As the driver instinctively cried out in pain, he turned his head to see the Second Young Miss firmly gripping his wrist!

“Stop the carriage.”

Ji Yunsu, her face concealed by a weimao, coldly uttered these two words with an expressionless face.

Though merely two calm words, the driver felt as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.

Instantly, a shiver ran through his entire body.

The scene from last night, where Second Young Miss had broken Zhang Momo’s wrist with her bare hands, was still vivid in his mind.

The driver’s heart trembled violently, fearing that with just a light squeeze from the Second Young Miss, he would end up like Zhang Momo with a broken wrist bone.

Without a second thought, the driver ignored Zhao Momo’s instructions and pulled the reins with a “whoa,” bringing the carriage to an abrupt halt!

Once the carriage stabilized, Ji Yunsu released the driver’s wrist with a swift flick.

This seemingly light and effortless motion actually carried a hidden force.

In the next moment, the driver cried out “ouch, ouch, ouch” as his body, as if swept by a strong wind, lost balance and tumbled off the carriage seat.

With a heavy “thud,” the driver fell flat on his face, grimacing in pain.

Ji Yunsu cast a cold glance at the driver sprawled on the ground, her expression calm as she spoke word by word.

“My younger brother is not someone to be bullied by just any random person. You’d better watch yourself.”

Hearing this, the driver’s face changed, and he quickly lowered his head, not daring to meet the Second Young Miss’s gaze.

The driver thought to himself, this Second Young Miss is far too arrogant.

He had merely pushed the Second Young Master a little, without causing any real harm, and yet she made him fall from the carriage.

As the illegitimate daughter of a village woman, even after entering the Grand Tutor Manor, her life wouldn’t be easy—she would still have to defer to the servants.

Where did the Second Young Miss get the audacity to lay hands on the servants of the Grand Tutor Manor?

Ji Yunsu had no interest in wasting more words on the driver. Turning, she walked directly to Liu Rumei’s side. “Mother, let me help you step down for some fresh air.”

“Su’er, it’s alright. I’m feeling much better now.”

Liu Rumei, worried that her daughter would clash with Zhao Momo and the others on her behalf, endured her discomfort and spoke gently.

After all, when under another’s roof, one must bow their head.

As a mother, she could endure a little humiliation, but she couldn’t let her children suffer because of her.

Ji Yunsu gently took Liu Rumei’s hand and methodically located the Hegu point between the first and second metacarpal bones.

Her mother’s weak constitution and prolonged carriage ride had caused motion sickness; massaging the Hegu point could alleviate her discomfort.

However, the best relief would come from halting the journey and ensuring ample rest.

While massaging her mother’s Hegu point, Ji Yunsu comforted her softly, “Mother, don’t be afraid. I’m here to handle everything.”

Then, she casually addressed the young boy who had just gotten up from the carriage floor, “Younger brother, come help me support Mother as she gets off the carriage.”

“Alright.” Ji Wenbo hurried over and steadied his mother.

With the support of her two children, Liu Rumei’s gentle eyes glistened slightly with moisture as she carefully descended from the carriage.

The moment her feet touched the ground, Liu Rumei felt much more at ease.

“Sister, there’s a tea stall ahead.”

Ji Wenbo pointed excitedly at the small tea shed not far away.

Hearing this, Ji Yunsu looked into the distance. The tea stall wasn’t too far—Mother could walk there without getting tired.

After a moment’s thought, Ji Yunsu said, “Mother, let’s go rest for a while, have some tea to moisten our throats.”

“No need. I’m feeling much better now and no longer nauseous.”

After her daughter had massaged her for a while, Liu Rumei’s earlier nausea had subsided considerably. She waved her hand repeatedly in refusal.

Better to avoid trouble—neither Zhao Momo nor Zhang Momo were easy to deal with. She didn’t want to cause any trouble for her children because of herself.

“What’s going on? Who told you to stop!”

At that moment, both the carriage following behind and the one leading the way came to a halt.

Supported by two servants, Zhang Momo—her face bruised and swollen—stormed over with a furious glare in her triangular eyes, limping toward Ji Yunsu’s direction.

Having been beaten the night before, Zhang Momo hadn’t slept a wink all night, constantly looking for an opportunity to retaliate on the journey back to the capital.

Now, she had finally seized her chance.

Zhang Momo immediately positioned herself in front of Liu Rumei and began shouting at her.

“Liu Yiniang, don’t think that just because you’re a concubine, you can throw your weight around.”

“The Madam has ordered that you and your two children must enter the manor within three days. If you delay the arrival time by stopping the carriage without permission, can a mere concubine like you bear that responsibility?”

“Let me tell you, once you step through the gates of the Grand Tutor Manor, you must obey the Madam in everything.”

“If the Madam tells you to go east, you go east. If the Madam tells you to kneel, you don’t stand.”

“Daring to defy the Madam’s orders—you must have a death wish—”

In the midst of Zhang Momo’s vicious tirade, she suddenly let out a sharp cry.

At the same time, a crisp slap echoed through the air.

In full view of everyone, Ji Yunsu raised her hand without warning and delivered a hard slap directly across Zhang Momo’s bruised and swollen face.

Instantly, two bloodied front teeth flew out of Zhang Momo’s mouth.

Stunned by the slap, Zhang Momo clutched her mouth in pain, unable to utter a single word.

Her triangular eyes widened, fixed venomously on Ji Yunsu as she walked past.

“Second Young Miss, since you’ve chosen to bring Liu Yiniang and Second Young Master back to the capital, you shouldn’t be causing unnecessary trouble.”

Zhao Momo ordered the flailing Zhang Momo to be taken back to the carriage and stood squarely in front of Ji Yunsu, her tone unfriendly.

As she spoke, Zhao Momo gestured with her hand, and over a dozen burly servants closed in from the sides.

The message was clear: if Ji Yunsu continued to act willfully, they would not go easy on her and her family.

Seeing this, a flicker of anxiety crossed Liu Rumei’s gentle eyes.

Worried that her daughter might suffer, she quickly said, “Su’er, I’m neither tired nor thirsty. Let’s continue on our way.”

Ji Yunsu gently patted the back of Liu Rumei’s hand, then took two bold steps forward, pressing her swollen, large frame toward Zhao Momo.

Though Ji Yunsu’s figure was still quite bloated, she was remarkably tall.

Thus, in Zhao Momo’s eyes, she appeared like a mountain approaching head-on, exuding an overwhelming sense of pressure.

Zhao Momo’s pupils trembled slightly. Sensing the imposing aura of the Second Young Miss drawing near, her originally bullying demeanor instantly shrank by half: “Second Young Miss, wh-what are you going to do?”
