23: Chapter 9: Kayano Onodera, Kayano Onodera, Filming Sex
“…You truly are foolish.”
Listening to Chabashira’s words as they drifted past me, I was lost in thought.
My school life had been progressing smoothly after acquiring Masumi Kamuro and Kayano Onodera.
While I was busy claiming those two women, time moved forward, and before I knew it, it was May.
In the world of Classroom of Elite, for Class D, May meant Chabashira-sensei’s grand speech.
Unless the player intervenes, the Class D route is guaranteed to hit 0 CP, triggering this event.
Since I’d basically done nothing but swing my hips, it naturally happened.
I’d heard this speech many times in the game, so I ignored it while organizing the situation in my head.
This event itself isn’t particularly important, but the problem is that this marks the true beginning of the main story.
Well, technically the period until now was part of the story, but the month of April is essentially a tutorial period in game terms.
And it’s also free time.
The interesting thing about this game is that in April, human relationships haven’t been solidified yet.
Take Kamuro’s case as an example.
I was able to intercept her when she was supposed to establish a relationship with Sakayanagi.
Well, I sent her back to her later…
but the important point isn’t that; it’s the fact that I can force myself into the original character dynamics.
Basically, the world tries to follow the original relationships, but depending on the player’s movements, you can mix yourself in—that’s the easiest way to describe it.
In Class D, you could slide into Hirata’s best friend slot, deepen your relationship with Ayanokouji, or act as a mediator between them to grow closer to both.
By intervening, you can challenge the various events starting in May with altered human relationships.
This is quite deep, and even in a normal playthrough, I’ve created many different dynamics.
Well, setting that aside for now.
The important thing is that even if you force a relationship like that, a sort of “corrective force” acts to pull things back toward the original script.
For example, if the player takes no action in April, Hirata and Karuizawa will start dating.
That’s just how it goes.
Relationships only change within the scope of the player’s interference; everything else remains the same.
What this means is that from here on, conquering targets is going to get a bit more tedious.
Specifically, once May begins, human relationships solidify due to “original plot correction.” Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
This means the connections between characters become more certain.
Taking Kamuro again—if you tried to conquer her after May, the difficulty would suddenly spike.
That’s because an A-rank AI like Arisu Sakayanagi is now firmly in Kamuro’s social circle.
If you make a clumsy move on Kamuro, Sakayanagi will sniff it out immediately.
And this isn’t limited to Sakayanagi.
Characters with broad social circles, like Karuizawa or Kushida, might interfere even if you aren’t targeting them directly.
Of course, there are ways around it, but…
(It’ll be harder to push through as aggressively as I did in April.)
Even against a C-rank AI, I can’t be too reckless.
The fastest way would be to keep corrupting low-rank AI characters to boost my stats, but…
(Well, I’ll be getting busier from here on.
Besides, the ones who become a hassle are the ones who hang out in groups…
isolated types like Hasebe or Sakura shouldn’t be a problem.
Especially Sakura, since she has fixed events.)
As for Hasebe, since we’re in the same class, there will still be opportunities.
(The problem is how to establish my position from here—that’s the key.)
The main story finally begins in earnest after May.
Inter-class events and special exams will increase, and what becomes important there is the class hierarchy.
This is calculated based on your contribution to the class.
The higher your contribution, the higher you climb in the hierarchy.
A high hierarchy allows you to interfere with class policies and movements during exams, and the more you excel, the easier it is to gain affection points.
(In short, the closer you are to a leader position, the more of a ‘competence correction’ you get for trust.
I want that.)
I want to maintain as high a class hierarchy as possible.
Basically, there’s no downside to being high up; in fact, trying to move around while keeping a low hierarchy is more of a high-difficulty “challenge run.”
I’ve just been attending classes seriously and haven’t taken any specific actions.
I’ve mostly just been fucking.)
Since I’ve made two girls fall, my charm has increased, which has mitigated some of the “Playboy” downsides, but since I haven’t shown any real results, my evaluation hasn’t gone up.
(Since there are people like Ike and Yamauchi who have the lowest possible evaluation from the girls, I’m not at the bottom, but I’m definitely in the lower ranks for now.
But having a low evaluation now means I can flip it later.
Some great person once said: a negative image can be converted into a positive one.)
The first fixed event to arrive in May is the “Midterm Exam.”
This event is famous for being a “tasty” one.
After all, a strategy already exists for it.
That is, obtaining the “old exam questions.”
Just like in the original story, if you can get the old questions, clearing the midterms is easy.
The method to get them isn’t particularly hard either; it’s an easy task where you can just negotiate with a senior and buy them in exchange for points.
That’s why the way you use those “old questions” becomes crucial for progressing through the game.
(There are many ways to use them, but…
the quickest way is to share them with the class to help everyone get through the midterms.
It’s an easy way to gain class contribution and raise my hierarchy.)
It’s the stable route.
And if I choose this route, there are roughly two ways to go about it.
(Do I announce it myself, or give it to someone else to announce?)
The former is the route where I aim to be the class leader myself; the latter is the route where I appeal my competence to a leader figure and become their confidant.
(…Well, me becoming the leader is out.
On other charts maybe, but on a ‘Playboy’ chart, it just doesn’t fit.
Not that there are no merits, but…)
If my time is eaten up by leadership activities, I lose the strength of the “Playboy” build.
So, that route is out of consideration.
