[Congratulations, Host! Through your tireless efforts, you have successfully caused your Dao companion to conceive, obtaining one draw opportunity.]

…

On this day, Zhou Luo heard the long-awaited system notification.Full novel: Cultivation Begins with Marrying into an Immortal Family — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He opened the draw interface with anticipation.

The white prize wheel floated quietly in the void, its seven sectors completely unchanged.

Having caused two of his wives to conceive at the same time, he had obtained two draw opportunities in total.

Zhou Luo stared intently at the wheel.

He hoped he would get something useful this time.

With a thought, he initiated the first draw.

A golden sphere of light spun rapidly across the wheel, sweeping past one sector after another.

Under Zhou Luo’s close watch, it finally stopped on the “Other” sector.

[Congratulations, Host, you have obtained a Charm Bonus!]

[The reward has been automatically applied to the Host!]

What the f—?

Zhou Luo couldn’t help but curse.

A charm bonus?

What kind of reward was that?

Zhou Luo found the result hard to accept.

Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that the system’s reward pool would contain something so utterly useless.

While his poison-making skills were unorthodox, they at least had some practical application.

But what was a charm bonus supposed to do?

Make him more handsome?

He was already a matrilocal husband with four wives. What use did he have for charm?

Zhou Luo was left entirely speechless, yet there was nothing he could do.

Looking at his last remaining draw opportunity, he prayed silently.

*System, please stop messing with me.*

*Can you give me something actually useful?*

*I’ve been working day and night, diligently tending to my duties. You can’t treat me like this.*

After a round of silent grumbling, he started the second draw.

The golden light spun once more.

This time, as if the system had heard his pleas, the golden light slowed down and landed squarely on the “Cultivation Technique” sector.

[Congratulations, Host, you have obtained the Spirit Gathering Incantation!]

[The reward has been sent to the Host’s inventory. Please check it!]

Zhou Luo’s eyes lit up.

He quickly checked his inventory and saw a jade slip icon.

With a nudge of his consciousness, the details of the Spirit Gathering Incantation manifested.

[Cultivation Technique: Spirit Gathering Incantation]

[Grade: Middle Grade Qi Refining]

[Description: Upon mastering this technique, the user can absorb the Spiritual Qi of heaven and earth at a much faster rate. It also purges impurities, rendering the absorbed Spiritual Qi exceptionally pure.]

This straightforward description left Zhou Luo with mixed feelings.

He had hoped for some legendary, top-tier cultivation manual.

In the end, it was merely an auxiliary technique to aid his training.

Still, it was infinitely better than a useless charm bonus.

At that thought, Zhou Luo felt a wave of relief.

He chose to learn it immediately.

Even with the draws concluded, Zhou Luo wasn’t particularly thrilled.

This round of rewards was vastly inferior to the last.

“Next time, I must wash my face before I draw,” he thought to himself as he sat cross-legged on his meditation cushion.

He immediately gave the Spirit Gathering Incantation a try.

To his surprise, the enhancement from this Middle Grade Qi Refining technique was incredibly pronounced.

He could clearly feel that the rate at which he absorbed Spiritual Qi was a full two times faster than usual, and the Qi itself was far more refined.

It was indeed worthy of being a Middle Grade technique, completely outclassing the Low Grade technique provided by the Lin family.

If he could cultivate with this technique in a place with a spiritual vein or a blessed land, his progress would be even more staggering.

This realization finally brightened his mood.

Zhou Luo cultivated until noon, when Lin Feiying arrived outside his cultivation room and knocked gently on the door. “Husband, it’s time to eat.”

“Coming.”

Zhou Luo answered as he rose and opened the door.

He was greeted by Lin Feiying’s exquisite, flawless face.

As their eyes met, Lin Feiying suddenly froze. In the next instant, a bright crimson blush crept up her cheeks.

“What’s wrong?” Zhou Luo asked, puzzled by her unusual reaction.

Though Lin Feiying was naturally shy, they had been together for so long. Why was she blushing like a bashful new bride?

Could she have caught a fever?

“It’s nothing,” Lin Feiying whispered, lowering her head as she hurriedly walked away.

Zhou Luo was left scratching his head.

In the dining hall, Lin Qinghan sat at the head of the table, with Lin Zi’er and Lin Yiyi seated in order to her left.

Before long, Lin Feiying entered with flushed cheeks, sitting silently beside Lin Yiyi with her head bowed.

Lin Feiying’s shoulders tensed, and she glared at her. “Stop talking nonsense.”

Just then, Zhou Luo stepped through the doorway.

His entrance immediately drew the gaze of all three women. Three pairs of beautiful eyes locked onto him.

In the very next second, all three wore expressions of utter daze.

“Is there something on my face?” Zhou Luo asked, touching his cheek in confusion.

Lin Yiyi cupped her chin, staring at him with bright, adoring eyes. “Husband, you look exceptionally handsome today.”

Lin Zi’er nodded in agreement.

Only Lin Qinghan remained still, though the slight flutter of panic in her eyes betrayed her inner composure.

“Don’t I look the same every day?”

Zhou Luo mumbled as he sat down beside Lin Qinghan.

Yet throughout the meal, the three women’s eyes never wandered from him, as if they were admiring a priceless piece of art.

What baffled Zhou Luo even more was their behavior during the meal.

The four women kept stealing glances at him, constantly piling food into his bowl with utmost attentiveness.

It was one thing for the other three to do so, but even the usually cold Lin Qinghan had actually placed a piece of meat into his bowl.

What was going on?

Zhou Luo was completely bewildered.

But recalling Lin Yiyi’s earlier words, a realization slowly dawned on him.

Could it be because of the Charm Bonus?

Looking at how his wives were acting, it seemed highly likely.

In the afternoon, Zhou Luo decided to test his theory.

It turned out to be exactly as he suspected.

For instance, when he approached Lin Qinghan with questions about his cultivation, her usual response would have been to tell him to figure it out himself.

Today, however, she actually sat down and patiently explained everything to him.

Even the normally shy Lin Feiying, who usually detested intimacy during the day, surprisingly did not refuse him.

What surprised him even more was his visit to Lin Zhishou in the evening.

The old alchemist was noticeably warmer than usual, treating him with a level of patience he hadn’t shown in days.

Even when Zhou Luo deliberately made a mistake while refining…

The old man didn’t scold him. He merely said with mild disapproval, “Be more careful next time.”

In an instant, Zhou Luo realized that the Charm Bonus was far from useless.

At the very least, it made many things significantly easier for him.

Time flew by, and half a month later, the family officially confirmed that the remaining three wives were also pregnant.

Upon hearing the news, Lin De even paid a personal visit to their courtyard.
