“Elder Qin Chu, please gather the newly appointed Internal Affairs Hall managers and the previous managers, and also find some disciples willing to help. We need to carry out resource point conversion immediately.”
“Elder Han Yun, you will be responsible for leading people to expand the Scripture Library again. Just expand it according to my plan.” Sun Yi tossed Elder Han Yun a jade slip.
“Elder Jin Jue, you will be responsible for arranging for the new management to familiarize themselves with their respective duties and revive the Law Enforcement Hall.”
“Elder Ye Luo, you will lead the new management to clean up the Miscellaneous Arts Hall. I need to know all the information about the Miscellaneous Arts Hall as soon as possible.”
“Elder Li Tai, you will lead all the new management to organize the sect’s internal and external missions, plan the amount of mission rewards, and also gather all intelligence on Chaos Demon Commandery with full effort.”
Sun Yi directly assigned tasks to the five Golden Core elders. Although the five Golden Core elders frowned slightly, none of them refused.
“Patriarch, please sit in the sect and oversee things.” Sun Yi then spoke to Patriarch Qingxuan. For the time being, he had no task to assign Qingxuan.
Patriarch Qingxuan casually waved his hand. “You do not need to mind me. I want to follow you and take a look.”
Sun Yi nodded, then waved his hand. “Set out!”
After receiving their tasks, the elders left one after another. Sun Yi led the uneasy Er Gouzi and followed Elder Qin Chu, who brought some Internal Affairs Hall people and disciples, directly toward the sect treasury. Patriarch Qingxuan followed casually behind them.
The sect treasury. There had to be many materials inside. The materials he needed to make the detection radar definitely had to come from the treasury.
Before long, Qin Chu brought Sun Yi to the treasure vault on the main peak. Two black iron gates three zhang tall blocked everyone’s path. Many complex array patterns were engraved on the black iron gates, and with Sun Yi’s current strength, he could not recognize them at all.
Just approaching the black iron gates made him faintly feel an aura of danger, so Sun Yi did not dare move carelessly.
Qin Chu waved his hand, and a jade pendant flew out and embedded itself directly into the black iron gate. As he sent spiritual arts toward the gate, he explained to Sun Yi and the others, “This is a treasury left behind by the previous sect. After our modifications, it can now withstand attacks from Nascent Soul cultivators. The entire treasury is covered in peak third-rank formations. Any unfamiliar Golden Core cultivator who barges in will certainly die.”
Clack, clack, clack!
The black iron gates opened to both sides, and a cold wind rushed toward them. Sun Yi focused his eyes and saw a long passage behind the gate.
“Let’s go. There is no real danger ahead now,” Qin Chu called to everyone, then led them toward the interior of the treasury.
After passing through the long passage, Sun Yi felt that they had already entered the belly of the main peak. Another huge black iron door blocked them.
“Behind this is the treasury. Wait here.” Qin Chu stepped forward and sent spiritual arts one after another toward the black iron door opposite him.
Light flickered on the black iron door, and array patterns surfaced. Then, amid a series of clacking sounds, the door slowly opened. A wave of pure spiritual energy rushed out, and Sun Yi could not help taking a deep breath.
Sun Yi followed closely behind. As soon as he stepped into the treasury, he was stunned by the scene before him. The huge treasury was about the size of a football field and roughly ten zhang high. Glowing crystals hung overhead, completely illuminating the treasure vault.
“Spirit stones! So many spirit stones!” The ordinary disciples who had entered with Sun Yi could not help crying out in shock. Everyone stared straight at the spirit stones piled casually on the ground.
Sun Yi also felt somewhat excited as he looked at them. Although he had already become sect leader, strength was still the foundation of everything in this world. He knew he had to raise his strength as quickly as possible. The title of sect leader was not something he could rely on to preserve his life.
Since his talent was poor, he would pile up resources! He had to think of a way to obtain large amounts of resources, and in a short time, he also had to raise his realm somewhat. The resources in front of him made Sun Yi extremely covetous.
“There are this many mid-grade spirit stones too!” Sun Yi discovered a pile of mid-grade spirit stones on the right. Astonishing spiritual energy fluctuations spread from them.
If he used these mid-grade spirit stones to cultivate, his cultivation speed could directly double.
“There are even high-grade spirit stones!” Suddenly, Sun Yi saw spirit stones the size of walnuts placed inside a box at the back. They were crystal clear and were clearly high-grade spirit stones he had never seen before.
If he could use high-grade spirit stones to cultivate, his cultivation speed would definitely rise another level.
However, if a Qi Refining cultivator used high-grade spirit stones to cultivate, once absorption began, the high-grade spirit stone would suddenly surge out with a large amount of spiritual energy. A Qi Refining cultivator could only absorb a small portion, and most of the spiritual energy would dissipate and be wasted.
“Marrow Cleansing Fruit! This is a good thing for improving aptitude!”
“Calming Tea and second-rank spirit water. These are good things too!”
“Spirit Tempering Pills! There are actually so many spirit pills that purify true qi!”
“Essence Fruit, a good thing that can raise a Qi Refining cultivator by one realm with a single fruit!”
“So many spirit artifacts. Letting them sit here is a waste. They must be put to use.”
“So many materials. Thunder Origin Stone, red iron, One Origin Heavy Water, fire crystal stone, and so many demon beast claws and scales!”
…
Looking at the dazzling array of cultivation resources, Sun Yi’s eyes became scorching hot. Some treasures here could help raise his cultivation, but as a servant disciple before, he had not been qualified to use them. He also found some materials suitable for making the detection radar.
There were many other materials whose names Sun Yi had heard before but was seeing for the first time today. Even more things here were items he did not know at all and could not even name.
I must increase my knowledge as quickly as possible, or I will not live up to this position as sect leader, Sun Yi secretly decided. Then his gaze shifted to the stunned people behind him, and he clapped his hands. “All right. Start working.”
“Er Gouzi, you handle the registration. Categorize and record every resource here. The resource name, quantity, and unit price must all be recorded clearly.”
“Elder Qin, there are many resources here we do not recognize, and we are not clear on the value of these things. I will have to trouble you to help us identify them.” Sun Yi looked at Qin Chu. New chapters come out on g.com first.
There were many resources in this treasury, and they were precious. Sun Yi and the others did not know their exact values, so they still needed Qin Chu to identify them.
“No problem. I said I would fully cooperate with you, and I will not go back on my word.” Qin Chu glanced at Sun Yi.
“Then I will trouble Elder Qin Chu.”
Then Sun Yi looked toward Patriarch Qingxuan and asked expectantly, “Patriarch, as the sect leader, can I advance one year’s salary, ten thousand—no, one hundred thousand points’ worth of resources? Deduct it from my contribution points in the future. That does not count as breaking the rules, right?”
Patriarch Qingxuan simply waved his hand generously. “Today, I will make the decision. Whatever you take a liking to in this treasure vault, take it. I have given you the benefit, but you must handle the sect’s affairs well for me, or you will bear the consequences yourself. In any case, these are not particularly precious things. I hope you will give me a satisfactory explanation in the future.”
Patriarch Qingxuan also understood the principle that if you wanted a horse to run, you had to feed it grass. So he decided to give Sun Yi a little sweetness first. In any case, aside from the spirit stones, they were only some low-rank resources.
Sun Yi was overjoyed when he heard this. He had not expected Patriarch Qingxuan to actually give him a big gift package. “Thank you, Patriarch. Please rest assured, Patriarch. I absolutely will not disappoint you! If there are no results within a year, I will bring my head to see you!”
Aside from the high-grade spirit stones, everything in the treasury consisted of Foundation Establishment and Qi Refining resources. Patriarch Qingxuan and the others did not take them seriously at all.
Today, Patriarch Qingxuan generously gave him a big gift package. With Sun Yi’s ability, earning back a hundredfold, a thousandfold, or ten thousandfold for the sect in the future would not be a problem.
The sect naturally had to develop with all its strength, and developing the sect so it could feed back into his own cultivation was the foundation. Resources were what Sun Yi pursued. In the cultivation world, the weak were prey to the strong, and strength was the foundation of survival.
There were a little over thirty high-grade spirit stones in total, and Sun Yi took ten.
There were around a hundred Marrow Cleansing Fruits, and he took twenty.
Sun Yi also took some Calming Tea and second-rank spirit water.
He likewise took a little of the Spirit Tempering Pills and Essence Fruits.
He took all kinds of materials that could be used to make the detection radar.
As for spirit artifacts, he would forget about those and just choose one or two casually.
Overall, Sun Yi did not take away many resources.
For the moment, it looked as though he had taken advantage of the sect. But in the future, he would definitely create enormous value for the sect in return.
Sun Yi dared choose resources in front of Patriarch Qingxuan and Elder Qin Chu because he had absolute confidence that he could create sufficient value for the sect. However, since he had not yet made any real contribution or displayed his ability, he did not take too many resources.
After selecting the resources, Sun Yi took a deep breath and then solemnly promised Patriarch Qingxuan and the five Golden Core elders, “Patriarch, elders, I have taken the sect’s resources today. At the same time, I have also shouldered the sect’s responsibility. Rest assured, I will devote everything I have to leading the sect back to its peak!”
