“Two million!”
Su Liuying felt the voice was somewhat familiar, and she instinctively looked up; upon seeing Quan Tianyou, panic surged in her heart.
She hadn’t expected her luck to be so awful as to run into Quan Tianyou again, especially on such an occasion.
It seemed her chances of earning the six hundred thousand she wanted today were dashed.
“Two million once!”
The auctioneer asked, “Is there anyone higher than two million?”
The crowd was silent, a stark contrast to the earlier buzz of activity; no one dared to challenge Quan Tianyou.
To compete with Quan Tianyou was akin to seeking death.
Everyone was savvy enough to just watch the show unfold.
“Two million twice!”
“Two million three times!”
“Sold!”
With a bang, as the auction-hammer fell, the auctioneer loudly declared the outcome, and the onlookers could only watch with envy as Su Liuying was dragged away by Quan Tianyou.
“Let go!
You’re hurting my hand!
Let go this instant!”
Su Liuying broke free from Quan Tianyou’s grip; she intentionally lagged a step behind, hoping to slip away unnoticed.
Just as she was about to sneak off, Quan Tianyou suddenly turned around and, with a dominating stance, pinned her against the wall behind her.
He leaned close to her ear and whispered, “It’s too late to run now, Su Liuying!”
His words sent a shock through Su Liuying; she had thought he couldn’t recognize her, but apparently, he had known all along and had purposefully bid on her, hadn’t he?
“Damn it!
How could you recognize me even like this!”
She cursed inwardly, though she wouldn’t admit it.
As long as she wore the mask, if she could just run away, he would have no way to deal with her.
“You’ve got the wrong person!
Sorry, but I won’t be taking your two million.
Goodbye!”
After saying this, she pushed away his body and lifted her leg to run.
This man was too dangerous; if she didn’t escape now, when would she?
“Too late!
Su Liuying, the money of Quan Tianyou isn’t something you can just earn and then refuse at your whim!”
He swiftly pulled back Su Liuying, who was attempting to make an escape, reached out, and removed her mask, leaving her with nowhere to hide before him.
“Uh, what a coincidence, meeting you again!”
Su Liuying smiled awkwardly as she greeted Quan Tianyou, the embarrassment of being exposed making her feel uncomfortable.
“It’s not a coincidence, Su Liuying. New chapters come out on g.com first.
I just didn’t expect you to attend such a damn auction!”
Thinking of Su Liuying being appraised by those men on stage, he felt extremely uncomfortable, as if a treasure he had privately cherished had become the object of others’ covetousness.
“You’re not anyone to me, why bother with so much!”
She was infuriated; this wretched man was simply meddlesome.
She wasn’t even acquainted with him, was he interfering too much!
“If I wasn’t someone to you before, then now, Su Liuying, I am your buyer!”
Quan Tianyou examined her from head to toe, leaned down to her ear with a laugh, and whispered something that instantly changed her face.
She pushed him away forcefully and turned to leave, but his words stopped her in her tracks.
“Su Liuying, with just a word from me, you won’t be able to hang around in those bars anymore.
Besides, tonight you’ve been lying through your teeth.
Have you gone for another corrective surgery?
Would you like me to announce this little secret to everyone at the bar?”
Quan Tianyou’s malevolent gaze made Su Liuying feel both ashamed and embarrassed; she wished she could stab his eyes blind with her fingers.
“Su Liuying, you have no choice!”
