After casually taking out one of the gang members, Loki shook his left hand, making sure there was nothing wrong with his arm.
Grabbing someone at such high speeds was still too much of a stretch.
The immense drag sent a jolt of pain through his shoulder, almost making him think his cybernetic arm was about to snap off.
Fortunately, Loki had injected a booster right at the start, and the discomfort was already fading under the drug’s influence.
By now, the Maelstrom gang members had snapped out of their shock.
Realizing they had been blatantly provoked, they instantly flew into a rage, rushing to get into their vehicles to pursue this daring bastard.
But Loki had already left them a parting gift when he rode past.
Two round grenades rolled onto the ground where Loki had just zipped through.
After a flash of red light, they suddenly exploded.
The powerful shockwave instantly flipped two vehicles parked right next to the blast.
Several gang members were also knocked to the ground by the explosion, unable to get back up.
“Fuck, I’m gonna kill this son of a bitch!”
“Kill him!”
Those who hadn’t been caught in the blast roared like maniacs, piling into their cars.
The engines roared to life as the drivers slammed their accelerators to the floor, surging after Loki.
The roar of engines echoed behind Loki.
Looking back, he saw the Maelstrom members hot on his tail.
Leading the pack were two riders on motorcycles.
Seeing the vehicles closing in, a bright smile appeared on Loki’s face as he pulled out a cylindrical grenade.
He flipped the safety.
The cylinder’s casing slid open and extended, and small jets of flame shot out from both ends, emitting a heat so intense it could be felt from several feet away.
Loki tossed the grenade right into the path of the oncoming Maelstrom gang.
The moment it hit the ground, the grenade burst open, creating a wall of fire that stretched in a straight line across the road.
He threw two in quick succession.
The twin walls of fire spewed fierce flames upward, unleashing terrifyingly high temperatures into the air.
The unlucky bastards leading the charge didn’t even have time to react before they plunged headfirst into the wall of fire.
The horrific heat instantly enveloped them.
Under the erosion of the double walls of fire, the cars’ tires melted in an instant.
They couldn’t even roll forward two steps before coming to a complete halt, entirely losing their ability to pursue.
Even unluckier were the motorcyclists who failed to dodge the flames.
The moment they hit the wall of fire, every combustible material on their bodies ignited.
As the motorcycles spun out of control in the blazing fire, one unfortunate rider crashed, sliding a long distance along the asphalt, leaving a trail of sparks and flames.
Thanks to a pain editor, the crashing rider didn’t scream, but the sudden explosion of his motorcycle silenced him forever.
The culprit behind all this was none other than the grenades Loki had obtained from his newly installed module.
[Apex Legends Grenade Pack]
[Contains the three basic grenades from Apex Legends.
Frag Grenade: A traditional grenade.
Its powerful explosive shockwave and shrapnel can quickly clear a battlefield, dealing massive damage to fragile flesh.
Thermite Grenade: Contains a terrifying high-temperature incendiary agent.
Upon detonation, it shoots flames out from both ends to form a wall of fire, making it the perfect choice for blocking enemies or executing cruel fiery executions.
Arc Star: Its unique throwing-star design gives this grenade incredible penetration and the ability to stick to targets.
Once embedded, its powerful electrical shock impairs the target’s mobility, while the devastating electrical explosion deals massive damage to enemy shields and electronic equipment.]
[Price Modifier: World Modifier -10%, Bundle Discount -20%]
[Item Module: 1,050 eddies/set]
[Crafting Bench Recipe Expansion: 28,000 eddies]
[Technical Expansion: 35,000 eddies]
To deal with these guys, Loki had specifically spent two thousand eddies to purchase two sets of the item modules.
Thanks to the explosions from the two Frag Grenades and the barrier created by the two Thermite Grenades, only one car and one motorcycle remained in pursuit.
“Rebecca!
Over to you,” Loki shouted over his shoulder.
“Got it!”
Sitting behind Loki, Rebecca had been waiting for those exact words.
Watching Loki continuously toss grenades to take down the Maelstrom goons, she was amazed by how badass he was, but her hands were also itching to get in on the action.
The leading motorcyclist was tailing them directly from behind.
Sitting in front of him, Rebecca found it hard to maintain her balance while aiming, and her shooting angle was terrible.
She simply let go of Loki’s waist, swung her legs up, and wrapped them around his midsection, locking her calves tightly in front of his waist to secure herself.
Then, she leaned her torso backward, raising her pistol to shoot at the upside-down target in her field of vision.
Rebecca’s aim was deadly precise.
Combined with the fact that the rider never expected her to shoot from such a wild angle, he didn’t even have time to react before his head was turned into a honeycomb.
Riding in front, Loki glanced down.
Rebecca’s legs were locked incredibly tight, her soft, chubby legs pressing firmly against him.
It was a good thing her legs were on the shorter side; someone with longer legs might not have pulled it off so easily.
‘Is she always this wild?’ Loki thought to himself.
Suddenly, a force pulled against his waist as Rebecca used her legs to pull her upper body back up.
“That car is bulletproof!
I can’t pierce it!” Rebecca yelled to Loki.
Having dealt with the motorcyclist, Rebecca redirected her focus to the sole remaining sedan.
Unfortunately, her current firepower was nowhere near enough to pierce the bulletproof glass installed on the vehicle.
“Rebecca, do you know how to throw darts?
Take these, press the safety in the middle, and stick ’em!”
Glancing through the rearview mirror at the vehicle closing in, Loki spoke to Rebecca and handed her his remaining two Arc Stars.
Rebecca looked at the two star-shaped objects in her hand, her brain failing to compute for a second.
“What?”
“I said!
Press the safety in the middle, and throw the stars to stick them!”
With the wind howling past them, Loki raised his voice to yell back at her over the noise.
Though Rebecca didn’t understand why she was supposed to throw darts at a car that even bullets couldn’t pierce, her trust in Loki made her choose to do exactly as he said.
Leaning back once more, Rebecca pressed the safety in the center of the Arc Star.
A faint, glowing blue electrical current began to crackle across the star.
With a forceful throw, she launched the Arc Star toward the Maelstrom vehicle.
The blue-lit star drew a glowing arc through the air, looking deceptively harmless as it easily stuck right onto the bulletproof windshield.
The occupants inside the car were still staring at the blue, glowing star on their windshield, not yet realizing what was happening, when a violent electrical explosion erupted right before their eyes.
As a specialist tool for breaking armor, the Arc Star shattered the bulletproof windshield into a million pieces without a hitch.
Shrapnel-like glass sprayed into the cabin, and the car veered wildly out of control under the force of the blast.
Right at that moment, another Arc Star drew a beautiful arc through the air, sailing straight through the shattered windshield and sticking right inside the car’s interior.
