The class quickly split into pairs, and sure enough, Kato was left on her own.
She’d been standing right beside Lucian and Yukinoshita, yet whenever someone came to invite Yukinoshita, they subconsciously overlooked her.
The whole thing let Yukinoshita see just how absurd Kato’s Talent was; she was practically a born assassin.
“Everyone’s paired up, right?
You three over there, how are you splitting up?” Hiratsuka swept her eyes over the room, then settled her gaze on Lucian’s side.
At her words, the class was stunned.
Three?
Everyone immediately looked over at Lucian’s group.
Where had a third person come from?
There were clearly only two!
That was the first thought for many, until they realized something was off.
“No way!
Why is there someone else next to them?” A sharper-eyed student slowly caught on, but only after he really concentrated.
Otherwise, he’d have subconsciously ignored the girl standing beside Lucian.
At that, everyone was a little confused.
What nonsense was this?
There were obviously just two of them.
The rest still couldn’t pick out Kato; all one could say was that this Talent was truly overpowering.
“All right, that student’s Talent is a bit special.
You, come over here, you’ll pair with me.” Seeing the commotion, Hiratsuka spoke up to quiet the noisy students.
Then she had Kato follow her, meaning to coach her personally.
At the teacher’s words, Kato hurried out, and only then did the class focus hard enough to finally see her.
Discovering there really was such a student, everyone was shocked.
Wasn’t this too absurd?
Her presence was that faint?
“All right, everyone get ready, spar with your partners!” Once Kato came over, Hiratsuka called out, then took her off to an open area.
She began giving Kato one-on-one coaching; with a Talent like that, she really ought to learn some assassination techniques.
“Let’s begin too.” Seeing Kato called away, Yukinoshita looked at Lucian.
Lucian had no objections, of course, and the two of them found a spot in the spacious hall.
Looking at him, Yukinoshita said with a serious face, “Lucian, I hope you won’t hold back.
Please, go all out.”
Opening by demanding he use his full strength; she wasn’t timid at all; she really wasn’t afraid of him doing her any real harm.
But Lucian thought back to what she’d told him earlier, about her Talent…
“No problem.
Then let’s begin.”
As he spoke, he set his stance.
Since she’d asked him to go all out, what was there to hesitate about?
At that, Yukinoshita took her own opening stance.
The two traded a glance, and then Lucian moved.
In a single step he was right in front of her, the fingers of his right hand clenched into a fist that he drove straight at Yukinoshita’s exquisite face.
A deliberate, heavy punch!
Seeing Lucian aim straight for her face, Yukinoshita went pale with alarm.
Was this guy doing it on purpose or by accident?
If she took a hit like that from him, wouldn’t she end up black and blue?
So she hurriedly forced herself to dodge to his right, reaching out to grab his fist, meaning to throw him.
But she’d underestimated him.
Just as she caught his arm, before she could act, she felt a sudden impact surge from it.
A burst of aura erupted from Lucian’s hand, knocking hers away, and it shocked her.
How long had it even been?
Lucian had already mastered this technique?
And wasn’t this guy’s aura absurdly abundant?
While she was still processing it, Lucian had already reset his footing and was on her again.
He spun to the side, whipping a kick straight at Yukinoshita’s head.
Seeing it, she could only marshal the strength in her body to steady her stance and throw up her arms to block.
A massive force erupted, and it left her arms numb.
After that wave, Lucian quickly opened up the distance and looked at her.
“You okay?”
Hearing him, and feeling the pain in her arms, Yukinoshita gritted her teeth.
“I’m fine.
Let’s keep going.”
Watching her refuse to yield, Lucian understood at once: this girl really didn’t want to lose.
In that case, he’d have to raise the intensity.
At that thought, Lucian launched another attack.
He began running through every Martial Skill he’d learned that day, and for a while it kept Yukinoshita scrambling just to cope; she became the target of a one-sided beating.
Still, her progress was fast too.
Even while dealing with his attacks, she began condensing her aura.
Maybe it was the constant pressure from Lucian that let her condense it so much faster.
Amid his relentless assault, Yukinoshita finally managed to condense her aura.
She was the second person in the class to do so; the others hadn’t reached that stage yet.
Hiratsuka looked over the instant Yukinoshita condensed her aura.
Seeing that she’d only pulled it off under Lucian’s pressure, she found it amusing.
She’d known Yukino for a long time in this world, having been her Class Teacher before.
She understood the child well; from childhood on, her academic record had always been exceptional.
And she’d Awakened a rather good Talent too.
Precisely because of all that, Yukinoshita’s personality was actually rather arrogant.
But she hadn’t expected that the moment the girl reached a new school and a new class, she’d start hitting setbacks.
Maybe that was a good thing, who could say.
At that thought, Hiratsuka said nothing, letting Lucian pummel Yukino.
Best to beat her black and blue; that way her arrogance might get worn down.
She hoped Yukinoshita would come to understand that there’s always someone better, and that too much pride wasn’t necessarily a good thing.
Yukinoshita didn’t know what Hiratsuka was thinking.
Feeling that she’d broken through, she was pleasantly surprised.
Then she decisively counterattacked.
Using her Talent’s command over her body, she wrapped aura around her fists and began trading blows with Lucian.
Bang, bang, bang!
The sound of their fight changed; every collision rang out with sharp cracks.
That was the sound of aura meeting aura, and the racket drew the eyes of the surrounding students who were sparring.
Everyone was shocked to see that Yukinoshita had condensed aura.
Wasn’t that far too fast?
