Lucian’s Class Teacher was a middle-aged woman in her thirties.
She was a little plump, with a face that radiated calm and good fortune.
The moment she entered, the students all fell quiet.
Everyone held this Class Teacher in considerable awe.
After all, she was genuinely fierce, a powerful Martial Artist.
Plenty of people couldn’t withstand even a single glare from her.
“I won’t waste time on small talk.
Fill out these forms, write down your Talent, and then we’ll sort out the class assignments.” Class Teacher Hale got straight to business the instant she walked in.
She handed the forms to the front row and had them passed back.
It didn’t take long for Lucian to get his.
Once everyone had one, the Class Teacher went on, “Fill them out.
Be serious about your Talent and the major you want to pursue.
This is a matter that will shape your whole life.”
Whichever path you chose, once it was decided here, it was for life.
Best to choose based on your own Talent.
Once the forms were handed in, the Class Teacher would offer suitable advice, and then the school would arrange the placements.
The process would be quick, too; in about two hours, everyone would be gathering in their new classrooms.
Listening, Lucian looked down at the form in his hand.
It was very simple, and he began filling it out without a second thought.
Name: Lucian.
Gender: Male.
Student ID: xx9527.
Have you Awakened a Talent?
Yes ✓ No ✗.
Talent Details: Some kind of Learning Eye?
Since Awakening, my ability to learn has grown much stronger.
I can grasp a lot of simple knowledge after a single look, though I haven’t tested it thoroughly.
Intended Major: Mage ✓ Martial Artist ✓.
Lucian filled it in quickly.
For the Talent details he gave a deliberately vague answer, and for the major he checked both boxes without hesitation.
He wanted both; with a learning Talent, studying both was reasonable enough, right?
As for how it would be decided, that was up to the Class Teacher.
Barring surprises, Lucian would likely be given a test next to evaluate his learning Talent.
What he’d written down was only a learning-related Talent, but his true Talent could copy even things like another person’s Physique.
That was his real trump card, and it was something Lucian would never tell a soul.
A powerful learning Talent alone was already enough to secure everything he needed.
Once the form was done, it could be handed in.
Lucian glanced around; some students had already submitted theirs.
Seeing that, he stood, walked to the podium, and quietly handed his form to the Class Teacher.
Teacher Hale took it and glanced down out of habit.
When she saw what Lucian had written, she froze for a moment.
“Lucian, wait a second.” Her words drew the attention of quite a few students.
Everyone looked over, puzzled, unsure what was going on.
“Teacher?” Lucian stopped at her call.
Was she planning to test his Talent on the spot?
The Class Teacher set his form down on the podium, pointed at the Talent column, and asked, “Is what you wrote true?”
She studied him with a skeptical eye.
By what he’d written, the claim was outrageous.
If it were real, then Lucian’s Talent was truly incredible.
A Talent for learning could be applied to any path, because it would let Lucian put in far less effort while still mastering all sorts of knowledge with ease.
“Yes, it’s true.
I’ve already tested it.” Lucian nodded and recited the excuse he’d prepared long ago.
“If that’s really the case, then it’s incredible.
No matter which path you take, it’ll serve you!” The Class Teacher kept looking into his eyes.
She could tell he wasn’t lying, which meant it was all real; her student had genuinely Awakened such a Talent.
At that, Teacher Hale grew excited.
She couldn’t help but say quickly, “I’ll explain this to the principal.”
The unspoken meaning was that the school would train Lucian with everything it had from now on.
As for which department he’d join?
That hardly mattered.
It wasn’t as though no one practiced dual training; with Lucian’s learning Talent, not pursuing it would be the greatest pity of all.
So the answers he’d given were excellent.
He absolutely should pursue dual training, maybe even learn far more than that.
Otherwise, wouldn’t such a learning Talent be wasted?
With a Talent like this, Lucian belonged in a special class.
The school had held meetings before about whether to set up exactly such a class, and she felt now would be a fine time to do it.
Special Talents deserved special training.
Her mind made up, she sent Lucian back to his seat.
Then she spoke to the class monitor.
“Monitor, help me collect the forms in a bit; I need to step out for a moment.”
With that, she hurried off, full of excitement, to go explain things to the principal.
The students were dumbfounded.
It seemed one of their own had Awakened some incredible Talent?
Many turned their eyes on Lucian, filled with envy.
A good Talent meant everything to people here.
The student sitting in front of Lucian couldn’t help but turn around.
“Lucian, what’s your Talent?
The teacher looked stunned!”
Everyone had heard the exchange just now, and it left him curious.
What exactly was Lucian’s Talent?
“It’s just an ordinary learning Talent; I can pick up a lot of things after seeing them once.” Facing his curiosity, and the curious stares of the rest of the class, Lucian calmly stated his Talent.
There was no hiding it anyway; even if he said nothing, the school would reveal it eventually.
Since it would come out sooner or later, hiding it now was pointless.
Better to just say it openly; from now on, no matter who asked, he’d give the same answer.
“Hiss, a learning Talent?
Good heavens!
Doesn’t that make you a top student for life?
No wonder the Class Teacher was so worked up!” After hearing him out, the student in front was shocked too.
A Talent like that was every teacher’s darling, and it was absurdly good; learn something after one look, so didn’t that mean you could learn anything you wanted?
Many who’d overheard were suddenly green with envy.
This Talent was a Divine-Grade support Talent, no question.
In an instant the class was buzzing, all of them envious of Lucian’s Talent.
Even the girls kept sneaking glances over.
Barring surprises, someone with a Talent like his was going to be somebody someday.
He was a huge potential stock; unfortunately, everyone was about to be split into different classes, with maybe no chance to interact again.
