12 – Encountering a God is Notoriously Difficult to Handle
While the voiceover spoke these words, a box slowly rose from the table in front of everyone.
The director looked at the box and asked with some lingering concern, “Are you sure everything’s set up properly? Can we absolutely guarantee Zhang Li will draw Jiang Yu?”
The assistant patted his chest confidently. “Don’t worry, director! Xiao Fang and I have rehearsed this backstage over a dozen times. There’s no way anything will go wrong!”
Hearing this assurance, the director finally relaxed and turned his attention to watching the lottery draw through the camera lens.
The first female guest called up to draw lots was Wang Hui, a newcomer to the domestic entertainment industry.
She ultimately got paired with the popular young “puppy-like” idol.
The second person to draw was Shi Yuan.
After stepping up, she randomly selected a slip of paper. Just as she was about to pull it out, something inside the box pricked her finger, causing her to nearly drop the slip from the pain.
Shi Yuan frowned.
There were mechanisms inside this box?
She lowered her gaze to examine the box before her, a faint smile curling her pink lips.
Trying to rig the draw, are we?
Clutching the paper slip firmly in her hand, she gave it a sharp tug.
A faint crack sounded, as if something inside the box had broken.
Ignoring the noise, Shi Yuan unfolded the slip. After confirming the number, she held it up between two fingers and waved it.
“Number 3. Who has number 3?”
From the opposite end of the room, Jiang Yu slowly lifted his eyes, casually stretching his long legs.
“That would be me.”
Director: “…”
Assistant: “…”
Not only were the production team behind the cameras stunned, but even Zhang Li, who was sitting on site, was completely bewildered.
Wasn’t it agreed that she would be in Jiang Yu’s group?
What was Shi Yuan doing here!
【…………】
【Damn, my Encounter God actually got paired with this woman? What rotten luck!】
【Don’t worry, Encounter God is famously unapproachable. So far, no female celebrity has managed to ride his coattails for even a bit of clout.】
【Exactly! I bet this entire show will just be Shi Yuan’s one-sided enthusiasm. Let’s just sit back and watch the comedy!】
【But Jiang Yu and Shi Yuan’s visuals and figures actually match really well! Ugh, I can’t help it—I want to ship them!】
【To be honest, their chemistry does seem pretty strong. And they’re both wearing black edgy outfits today—they kinda look like they’re in matching couple outfits.】
However shocking it might be, the draw was complete. In the end, Yang Qianqian successfully got paired with Zhao Rui, while Zhang Li ended up with Gao Chengzai.
“As you’ve all seen, for this program recording, our production team has chosen a resort villa. This villa boasts excellent scenery and facilities, making it a perfect vacation spot.”
“But would our ruthless production team ever let everyone enjoy a simple vacation? Of course not! So here comes your first task!”
“All guests will divide into four groups and search this vast resort villa for the room keys prepared by our program team! Friendly reminder: first come, first served!”
As soon as the task began, Zhao Rui grabbed Yang Qianqian’s hand and dashed out ahead of everyone.
Fans of the “Rui-Qian” pairing immediately exclaimed about how perfect they were together.
In stark contrast to every other group rushing out eagerly…
Both Shi Yuan and Jiang Yu walked out at a leisurely pace.
And they didn’t exchange a single word the entire time.
Despite this, the number of viewers watching their live stream window remained substantial.【LMAO, Encounter God didn’t even spare Shi Yuan a single glance. I felt secondhand embarrassment just watching.】
【But speaking of which, weren’t they supposed to increase the intensity? They wouldn’t actually make teammates live together this time, would they?】
【Someone please shut the person above me up! That drama queen Shi Yuan doesn’t deserve it, just doesn’t deserve it! Ugh, I’m going crazy just imagining that scene!】
