Bella quickly realized what he meant.

He was responding to the message he had Nancy pass on to her that afternoon!

Having known him for so many years, she was well aware of his eccentric temper and his tendency to hold grudges over the slightest grievances.

She just hadn’t expected him to be this petty!

Before she could speak, Adrian Xavier took the initiative to introduce her.

“This is the scientific genius and cardiology expert I told you about, Miss Jefferson.”

The gazes of the four middle-aged men simultaneously fell upon Bella.

She offered them a polite smile.

The moment she looked up, she realized these were the same men who had been with Adrian at the restaurant last time.

When they saw her face, their eyes filled with sheer amazement, though a hint of skepticism lingered.

Over the past few days, Adrian had brought her up to them quite often.

They had guessed she was on the younger side, but they never expected her to be this young and beautiful.

She looked several years younger than Adrian.

If she hadn’t been brought here personally by him, they would have assumed she was nothing but a pretty face trading on a fabricated reputation.

Adrian then introduced them to her one by one.

“This is Professor Lane, Professor Holt…

These are the research experts I mentioned.

They’ve been looking into new cardiological technologies recently, so you can have an in-depth discussion with them.”

Neatly arranged in front of the men was a set of documents.

Bella glanced at it and recognized it as a cardiology research report.

She understood immediately that these experts had also been commissioned by Adrian to research the technology needed to save Sarah Xavier.

After shaking hands with each professor, Bella took a seat next to Adrian.

He handed his copy of the report over to her.

Flipping through it briefly, Bella discovered that their research direction was quite similar to her own.

Her interest piqued, she began to share her own insights.

The moment she spoke, the men who had initially harbored doubts instantly looked at her with newfound respect.

“If I may be so bold to ask, who did you study under, Miss Jefferson?” Professor Lane inquired.

He knew many leading figures in the scientific community, but the one he admired most was Professor Xanor.

The man was an absolute legend whose students were incredibly young, yet each served as a crucial pillar in the field of scientific research.

Previously, when his own research had hit a bottleneck, Professor Lane had sought out Professor Xanor for advice.

The elderly professor had introduced him to a few of his apprentices.

Having interacted with them, he knew that while their insights were valuable references, none could match Bella’s meticulous and incisive precision.

Yet, he wondered why no one had ever mentioned Bella before if she was truly a scientific genius. Find the original chapter at g.com.

Adrian cast another glance at Bella and answered on her behalf.

“Miss Jefferson’s identity is strictly confidential.

I cannot say.”

Professor Lane was even more astonished.

To this day, he only knew of one such person—Professor Xanor’s most prized final disciple, Felix Hollis.

Felix’s identity was protected by the state, and to this day, no one knew who he truly was.

He hadn’t expected this young woman before him to share the same level of secrecy as Felix.

Bella breathed a sigh of relief.

She had been worried that Adrian might expose her identity and cause unnecessary trouble, but thankfully, the man knew where to draw the line.

Following that, the group delved deep into their research topics.

Since the content of Bella’s own research was highly classified, she focused her analysis entirely on the older experts’ work, offering her unique perspectives.

Naturally, she also gained quite a lot from their wealth of experience.

As the conversation deepened, they became completely engrossed, almost losing track of their surroundings.

Since Adrian was not an expert in this field, he sat silently to the side and listened.

However, his gaze uncontrollably drifted toward Bella.

Watching her professional and confident demeanor, he didn’t even realize how fierce the turbulent emotions hidden in the depths of his eyes had become.

At that moment, Nancy Monroe appeared.

She quietly made her way over to him and leaned in close to whisper in his ear.

“Mr.

Xavier, the Madam is looking for you.

She says she wants to introduce someone to you.”

Adrian’s expression instantly turned cold.

He withdrew his gaze and looked down at his phone screen.

Since he had been busy, he had set his phone to vibrate; several calls had come in during the meeting, all of which he had declined.

“Tell her I’m busy.”

Nancy looked incredibly torn.

“But the Madam said that if you don’t go over, she’ll bring the person directly to your villa.”

Adrian looked back at the group immersed in their discussion.

Ultimately, he stood up, grabbed his phone, and quietly slipped out of the conference room.

The moment he stepped into the banquet hall, he spotted Mason Sinclair weaving through the crowd, seemingly searching for someone.

His phone began vibrating incessantly again.

He picked it up to take a look.

Mason’s attention was suddenly drawn to him.

He hurried over, his voice laced with urgency.

Xavier?”

When they had crossed paths at the restaurant the other day, Mason hadn’t seen Adrian’s face, but he vividly remembered his silhouette.

The man standing before him now matched Adrian in both height and aura, leading Mason to suspect this was him.

“I’ll be right there.” Adrian stood turned to the side, his phone pressed to his ear as he took the call.

His voice was as cold as ice.

Mason’s footsteps skidded to a sudden halt, his pupils shrinking drastically as he wondered if that voice belonged to Miles Sinclair.

He charged forward and grabbed the man’s wrist, his tone filled with absolute disbelief.

“What are you doing here?”

Adrian hung up the phone and looked at him expressionlessly.

“Who else did you think it was, President Sinclair?”

Mason issued a vicious warning.

“You don’t belong here.

Get the hell out before you embarrass the Sinclair family.”

The surrounding guests turned their heads to watch the commotion, but Adrian couldn’t care less.

He easily shook off Mason’s grip, a mocking smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.

“Telling me to get out?

Who do you think you are?”

With that, he straightened his suit cuffs.

His gaze drifted toward Scarlett Sullivan, who was rushing over in their direction.

“Speaking of which, I wonder how Mrs.

Sinclair would react if she found out that President Sinclair was so openly embracing other women.”

Mason’s face turned deathly pale, his eyes reddening with sheer panic and guilt.

“Did you see Bella?

What did you say to her?”

Adrian sneered in silence.

He deliberately slammed his shoulder into Mason’s, using far more force than Mason had used when bumping into Bella earlier.

Caught completely off guard, Mason staggered backward several steps.

Adrian walked a few paces before pausing to look back, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

“Mrs.

Sinclair must have put in a lot of effort for President Sinclair to achieve everything you have today.

It’s hard to say if you’ll still be able to secure your position as Meridian’s president if you lose such a capable assistant.”

“I don’t care what you saw, but you’d better take it to the grave!” Mason threatened ferociously.

“If you dare breathe a single word of this, I’ll make you wish you were dead!”

Just then, Scarlett, who had been unable to find Adrian, hurried over.

She asked anxiously, “Mason, have you still not seen Mr.

Xavier?”

Mason hadn’t been looking for him at all; he had spent the entire time searching for Bella.

After the scene they just made, Bella was angry and refusing to reply to his messages, which left him somewhat unsettled.

“I don’t think he’s going to show up,” Mason said.

The birthday banquet had been underway for quite some time now, yet there was still no sign of Adrian.

Mason assumed that the man had no intention of making an appearance.

Mason looked forward again, only to suddenly catch sight of a middle-aged woman looping her arm through Adrian’s, pulling him away in another direction.
