“Your reaction time is quite fast, but your attacks are weak.
Each strike is merely a reaction of your body’s instincts; you’re not fully utilizing your body’s functions when you strike.”
During the standoff, Urokodaki Sakonji pointed out Shin’s weakness.
No sooner had he finished speaking than Urokodaki Sakonji inhaled sharply and suddenly unleashed an astonishing burst of power, instantly severing Shin’s bamboo sword.
The break in Shin’s bamboo sword was remarkably clean, as if it had been cut by a sharp blade.
Shin was slightly stunned.
After a brief moment of distraction, a faint smile appeared on his face.
He clasped his hands in a gesture of gratitude to Urokodaki Sakonji and said, “Thank you for your guidance, sir!”
In truth, Shin understood why there was such a vast difference between himself and the old man.
The fundamental reason was that Shin was completely ignorant of swordsmanship.
Therefore, when facing Urokodaki Sakonji, he could only rely on his body’s instincts.
“Shin, although you can control Water Breathing with ease, you have absolutely no knowledge of swordsmanship.
Perhaps, as you say, you learned Water Breathing through imitation.
You are a genius,” Urokodaki Sakonji praised him again.
Shin was not too surprised that Urokodaki Sakonji could see through his novice status.
After all, the man was a seasoned veteran and naturally possessed that kind of insight.
“Your next training path is to learn and comprehend swordsmanship.
That’s all for today!
Go back inside and rest!”
With that, Urokodaki Sakonji turned and walked away in one direction.
Tanjiro belatedly followed.
As he passed Shin, he could not help but remind him, “Shin-senpai, I’m entrusting Nezuko to you!”
Shin nodded without saying anything more.
Back in the cabin, Shin lay down on the empty spot next to Nezuko.
He stretched and sighed, “Looks like I’ll be staying here for a while!”
Somewhat bored, Shin glanced at the sleeping Nezuko.
The more he looked at her fair skin, the more he felt a strong urge to touch it.
About half an hour later, Tanjiro and Urokodaki Sakonji returned to the cabin.
“From now on, cooking is your responsibility.
Go kill some fish!
This is also a form of training for you,” Urokodaki Sakonji instructed Tanjiro.
“Yes, Master!” Tanjiro replied somewhat helplessly.
He then took the two large fish he had just caught to the stove to prepare them.
Tanjiro’s use of the title “Master” was a sign of acceptance and recognition of Urokodaki Sakonji, indicating that he now considered himself Urokodaki Sakonji’s disciple.
Without further ado, Urokodaki Sakonji entered the wooden hut.
Then he said to Shin, who was lying beside Nezuko, “No matter how you look at it, she’s still a demon.
Have you fallen for her?”
Hearing Urokodaki Sakonji’s teasing, Shin sat up abruptly, smiled faintly, and said nothing more.
“Let’s start a fire.
We’ll have boiled fish fillets again today!”
And so, Shin and Tanjiro each took turns—one busy starting a fire and setting up the pot, the other busy preparing the fish.
Urokodaki Sakonji, on the other hand, sat quietly to the side, resting.
