“That’s perfect.
Let’s go together!” Shin replied.
“Really?
Senior!” Tanjiro was clearly surprised that Shin would join him, which excited him considerably.
“Um, please take care of me from now on.
My name is Kamado Tanjiro.
You can just call me Tanjiro!”
“Call me Shin,” Shin replied calmly, looking at Tanjiro.
…
Afterwards, Shin accompanied Tanjiro to find a place to bury his deceased family members.
Tanjiro and Nezuko offered a simple prayer, while Shin waited quietly at a distance, not disturbing the siblings.
Tanjiro’s family was very ordinary.
His father had passed away early due to health reasons when Tanjiro was young, leaving the family entirely supported by his mother and eldest son, Tanjiro.
But now, this ordinary family had been shattered in an instant, and Tanjiro’s only surviving sister had become a demon.
Although Nezuko no longer actively ate people, it didn’t change the fact that she had become a demon.
Tanjiro, with his kind heart, told Shin these things while Shin was helping dig the graves.
Shin didn’t discuss his own family much with Tanjiro, but simply listened quietly as he recounted his cherished memories.
Tanjiro carefully examined Shin, who was wearing his father’s clothes, and couldn’t help but feel a pang of emotion.
“Senior Shin, you look just like my father.”
Hearing this, Shin was startled and said irritably, “Tanjiro, what nonsense are you talking about?”
Tanjiro chuckled and explained, “You’re wearing my father’s clothes, so I feel like he’s alive again.”
“Couldn’t you have found me some other clothes?” Shin looked himself up and down, wishing he could take them off right then and there.
However, realizing that doing so wouldn’t be appropriate, Shin was at a loss for what to do.
“My clothes are too small, and forget about my brother’s clothes.
Only Father’s clothes would fit you.
What?
Senior Shin, are you looking down on my father’s clothes?” Tanjiro continued.
Knowing there was no way to change clothes right now, Shin could only give up.
After all, in this snowy mountain, one couldn’t just take off their clothes and freeze!
Seeing Tanjiro’s misunderstanding that he was looking down on him, Shin explained, “No, no, it’s just that your father’s clothes don’t really look good on me.”
Tanjiro thought about it and agreed, “There really aren’t any other clothes at home.
I’ll figure something out once we get outside!”
Shin didn’t want to dwell on it anymore and urged, “Let’s set off as soon as we’re done!”
Afterwards, the two of them and the demon embarked on their journey to Mount Sagiri to find Urokodaki Sakonji.
To make it easier to travel during the day, Tanjiro went to a nearby villager and got a bamboo basket.
“Senior, I’m back!” Tanjiro returned to the place where Shin and Nezuko had rested.
Shin was sitting cross-legged outside a cave. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.
Seeing Tanjiro return, he simply replied, “You’re back!”
Tanjiro nodded.
Shin glanced at the slightly leaky bamboo basket Tanjiro had brought back and said, “Tanjiro, this bamboo basket isn’t very good!
It lets in all the light!
Demons really hate sunlight!”
