Why does she have no special skills?

Forget it, if this bizarre status bar and its skills are actually real…

Kato Jun glanced grimly at the sea in the distance, which was rapidly about to become pitch-black.Full novel: Desert Island Survival: Starting with Yukinoshita Yukino — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

I have to try it first!

Kato Jun silently focused his mind and activated the skill on his panel, choosing to keep his Stamina value locked and unchanged.

Whether this is true or just a dying hallucination, let’s see if I actually get tired!

“Let’s go, I still have a lot of physical strength in reserve.”

“It should be more than enough for the two of us to swim all the way to that beach.”

“Just grab tightly onto the floating board and I’ll pull us forward!”

Kato Jun started forcefully treading water without saying another word.

Although Yukinoshita Yukino found it a little strange that Kato Jun had suddenly cheered up with such confidence, she silently cooperated, kicking her legs behind the floating board.

Does this guy really have that kind of monstrous physical strength?

If we get halfway through the swim and he runs out of strength, we’re both dead…

Yukinoshita Yukino was deeply puzzled, but she knew that voicing her doubts would just be a waste of precious energy.

She might as well try her absolute best to cooperate with Kato Jun and pray for a miracle.

Splash…

splash…

After the skill was successfully activated, Kato Jun felt that his physical strength truly seemed endless.

His muscles pumped efficiently against the waves without building up a single ounce of fatigue.

Yukinoshita Yukino was completely exhausted about halfway along the journey, her legs going numb from the cold.

But Kato Jun was still paddling just as fiercely as before, gripping the edge of the floating board and steadily towing her forward through the dark water.

Kato-san…

is his physical endurance really this good?

Yukinoshita Yukino looked at the coastline that was steadily getting closer and closer, and the flame of hope ignited in her heart.

We can survive this!

“We’ve…

arrived…”

After paddling non-stop against the current for more than an hour, Kato Jun finally felt the rough sand beneath his feet.

He dragged the board onto the beach, then struggled to prop up his arms, gasping heavily for breath on the wet sand.

Although his Stamina value had not dropped a single point, his SAN value—his mental fortitude and sanity—had dropped wildly.

So this overpowered skill still has severe side effects…

Using limitless physical energy meant heavily taxing his mental endurance just to force his body to keep moving.

However, this also proved that these game-like data panels and this ridiculous skill were actually real!

Is this the legendary ‘golden finger’ cheat of a transmigrator?

But why did it suddenly appear after so many years…

It had been exactly 17 years since Kato Jun traveled to this parallel anime world that was so similar to Earth.

In all these 17 years, he had lived a completely normal life and never felt that he possessed any extraordinary powers.

But today, on the brink of death…

Kato Jun opened his panel again.

[Name: Kato Jun]

[Hunger Value: 80/150]

[Health: 150/150]

[Stamina: 120/150]

[SAN Value (Sanity): 99/150]

After a short rest on the cold sand, Kato Jun felt the intense pounding in his head fade as his sanity slowly began to recover.

“Are you okay, Kato-san…?”

Yukinoshita Yukino also gasped for air nearby; she had truly pushed herself to her absolute limits just to hold on.

“I’m fine…”

Kato Jun stopped panting and stood up to get a better look at the island under the moonlight.

This island…

is much bigger than I imagined from the water.

I thought it was just a small reef or atoll, but it turns out that the edges of the coastline can’t even be seen.

It’s the year 2020, so there absolutely must be people living on such a massive island, right?

Kato Jun began scanning the dark edges of the beach, looking for any traces of human civilization or lights.

“Hey, Kato-san, where are you going?”

Yukinoshita Yukino’s physical strength had not recovered yet; she slumped weakly on the beach, her small leather shoes discarded beside her.

Her soaked school uniform and the shiny black stockings clinging to her legs reflected the faint, sparkling light of the fading afterglow.

“It’s so cold…”

A freezing sea breeze suddenly blew over the beach, and Yukinoshita Yukino couldn’t help but hug her slender shoulders, shivering violently.

When Kato Jun turned around and wondered what to do about their wet clothes, Yukinoshita quickly took action.

With trembling hands, she peeled off the soaking black stockings from her legs.

Then, she struggled to take off the heavy school uniform jacket that was completely waterlogged with freezing seawater.

After wringing out the heavy water from the jacket and stockings with what little feeble strength she had left, she put the damp school uniform jacket back on with a sigh of relief.

It wasn’t perfect, but at least the heavy ocean water wouldn’t sap her body heat as quickly.

Night had officially fallen, and the temperature on the deserted island was dropping rapidly.
