“It all began with the gods: the god of manipulation, the god of destruction, the god of death, the god of creation, the god of happiness, the god of misfortune, and the god of life.” Jivua took a deep breath and prepared to tell them the entire story of the seven gods.
“There are only seven gods.
The chief god is the creator god.
He created us all and gave us feelings.
He decided on our birth and everything else.
The other six gods were also there before everything else.
The god of happiness is always happy and content and gives us hope.
The god of manipulation gave us the ability to manipulate others and to recognize when we are being manipulated.
The problem is that we cannot surpass these gods.
Although they created us all, they are unsurpassed and omnipotent.
They made us what we are.
Who knows, maybe they are controlling us right now.”
“They are considered good gods, although some of them are terrifying.
Anyone who encounters a god must bow and kneel, or they will die.
The gods do not consider us equals to their omnipotence.
They want us earthlings to show them respect.” Jivua checked to see if everyone was listening attentively.
Avur was the only one who was truly interested in the story; he didn’t know that there were seven gods in this world.
Jivua continued: “Once upon a time, there was a human who had transcended all limits.
This human was unrealistically strong, without weapons, without magic, using only his fists.
He said that if he could scratch any of the seven gods, they would have to give us all something for protection, since many unusual things were happening on Earth at that time.
Like the monsters that appeared out of nowhere.
He managed to scratch the god of manipulation before he died.
The gods were astonished and kept their word.
Following this, they created other beings such as elves, demons, fairies, witches, and so on.
Since humans were defenseless against other beings should anything happen to them, they decided to give everyone magic.”
The lesson dragged on endlessly, then the bell rang, everyone left, and Pixie sat down on Avur’s desk: “Didn’t you want to tell me something?” She played with her hair, waiting for him to say he wanted to be friends with her.
“Oh yeah…
I wanted to ask if we could be friends?
Just to make sure I’m not calling you a friend when you might not see me that way.
So, what do you think?
Do you agree or not?” He was sweating like crazy.
After everything Bironica had done to him, he hadn’t been able to find any more female friends.
Pixie was a little worried and thought: Why is he sweating so much?
Don’t tell me he likes me romantically…
“Sure…
I’d be happy to be friends with you, but don’t think anything more will come of it, okay?” She stood up from his desk and left the classroom without even waiting for him to speak.
…Did she think I had romantic feelings for her, or why did the situation feel so strange?
Avur simply shrugged and left.
Daxxel was already waiting for him, leaning against the wall and eating his tobek.
Tobek is a dish that doesn’t exist in Avur’s world.
It’s a kind of red bread with toppings like unicorn meat.
It helps increase mana and is very helpful during training.
Unicorn meat is quite rare and tastes very good.
Tobek also contains vegetables, lettuce, and tomatoes, so it would be suitable for a diet, but Daxxel only really likes the unicorn meat.
“Um…
Dax, what are you eating…?” Avur was surprised.
Were there different foods in this world than in his own?
Some things were the same, but this world was set in the distant future, so of course there were new recipes.
Daxxel spoke with his mouth full and was clearly enjoying his tobek: “It’s tobek, haven’t you ever heard of it, Avur?
Man, where did you live?
In a cave or something?” Daxxel shook his head in exasperation.
How had he possibly survived without knowing what a tobek was?
“All right…
I’m going to the library.
Do you want to come with me, Dax?
I want to learn more about the seven gods that Mr.
Kodreux talked about.” Avur was convinced that Daxxel would accompany him.
Daxxel was always near him, never left him alone, constantly watching him and relaxing in the process.
Daxxel laughed as usual while eating his tobek; he’s always the positive and cheerful one.
“No, I really can’t come, I have to help the teachers, you can go without me, maybe I can come next time.” He gave Avur a thumbs up
“If you think so, well, you can join me anytime you have time.
See you later, Dax!” He waved to him, and Daxxel waved back.
Then they went their separate ways.
Daxxel helps Ms.
Luma with some paperwork, while Avur has reached the library and is reading books about the seven gods.
Meanwhile, Avur’s backpack glowed dimly.
Avur stopped reading his book and cautiously examined his backpack.
“Oh man…
what’s happening now?”
He opened his backpack.
Inside was the book he’d found a few days earlier, along with the orb he’d swallowed.
He’d almost forgotten about it.
He opened to the first page, which read “Dark Magic,” the next “Physical Enhancement,” and so on.
There were many pages about different things. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.
This struck him as odd…
He opened to a page labeled “Flash Step.” It wasn’t even magic anymore.
It contained physical details.
And the pages went on and on… it seemed endless; some he couldn’t read.
Only witches could read the other texts, and some were reserved for the gods.
He first experimented with dark magic.
It turned out that the sphere he had swallowed was called a Maphorb – a teleportation sphere.
Now he understood how he had been teleported to a different area when he swallowed it.
Everything was slowly starting to make sense.
He tried teleporting again and again… but it didn’t work.
Had he made a mistake, or was there a trick to it?
He tried clapping his hands, hoping to teleport that way, but that didn’t work either.
So, his next thought was to simply sit down in his chair, and sure enough, it happened.
He was finally sitting in his chair.
Apparently, all he had to do was decide what he wanted to do.
He tried again, this time without blinking, to see what had really happened.
He saw a portal open beneath him.
This time he thought of going home, but the portal led him to the inn… which meant he really couldn’t go home anymore.
He used the portal to return to the library and began reading the book there, learning new spells that he could only learn from it.
“This is insane…
Should I tell Dax about it?
Nah, maybe he’ll want me to burn the book or something,” he muttered to himself.
He opened to a page whose text only he could read.
It read: “What you need to know after you come into this world.”
1.
Never mention that you come from another world, not even in writing, or you will die yourself.
2.
You will be reincarnated without magic or any other abilities.
3.
This book may contain shinigami; be careful what you choose to learn from it.
4.
The ###########################
These were all things he needed to know.
The fourth one was erased; he couldn’t utter a single word except “The”.
“What the…
who did this to the book?” Avur felt a shiver run down his spine…
this could mean something bad.
