Bruises scattered his remains.
Painting him out as some grotesque Dalmatian.
Barely resembling what was human.
Three jackasses with more nepo-money than you and I could ever dream of; we’re seen walking out of an alley with smiles as if they were members of society.
Leaving their work of art to shrivel up and pass on.
That, my friends, is the unfortunate bastard named Rhys Morgan.
He was like any other child.
Likes, dislikes, dreams, relationships.
Some could say that he was on the righteous path to success.
But of course; things can and will happen.
You see, there was this sweet and pretty girl that Rhys had the biggest crush on.
Every time she’d walk into a room, he wouldn’t remember a single word he had lined up to say.
She was just that powerful.
There was this other boy; he was in this exact situation.
The only difference being how he lived his life.
Carefree was the most prominent personality trait anyone around him could think of.
He also had terrible perfection syndrome and believed that someone as pretty as her should never look in his direction, and should only have eyes for someone like him.
Whether he actually liked her; never crossed his daily thoughts.
There was this one time, though, where a switch was flipped in the brat’s brain.
One day, Rhys picked up his nut sack off the floor and talked to her like a man.
On Valentine’s Day, 2016.
He gave her a chocolate candy.
I still don’t recall what brand it was.
When the candy fell into her grasp.
The colour palette of her face seemed to shift all the way to a crimson colour.
The brat is not some idiot; he knew what he saw the moment it happened.
The rage that had been bellowing deep inside him over the years was to the point of no return.
That bastard Rhys wasn’t living to see his birthday.
That’s where the three low-lives come into the picture.
Only seeking money; and opportunities to make it.
So when the brat found them doing what they do best.
The alliance was pretty much set in stone.
So that just leaves Rhys, oblivious of what was about to him.
He kept living his life, thinking about how excited he was that he got a free date with the love of his life.
He should’ve known that psychopaths walk amongst society.
If he did, well, we wouldn’t be in this predicament now, would we?
Rhys’s eyes slowly opened.
Getting ready to take in what heaven, hell, or whatever afterlife looks like.
The only possibility he wasn’t expecting is in fact the one he would get this time around.
Rhys: [Uhhhh~~ damn it’s so bright…]
He rubs his eyes, or at least he thinks he did.
The lack of touch anywhere makes it kind of hard to tell.
Once his eyes adjust to their new surroundings.
The realization finally set in about what the hell had just happened a moment ago.
Rhys: [Wait, hold on.
Did I just die?]
His body hadn’t fully gotten used to this new feeling around.
So when he eventually looked down, he almost pissed himself out of fear.
Rhys: [H-hey, anyone?
Can someone please help me?
Help?!!]
His yelling got old, real quick.
So I shot down from above, and made my presence known.
???: [Calm down, child, and quit with that yelling…]
He looked up slowly, making his neck joints sound as if they were about to fall apart.
Luckily for him, I was in my human form, so his mind wouldn’t hemorrhage.
Rhys: [W-who the fuck are you…??]
???: [I am your creator]
After a bit of floating, I finally made it to his level.
???: [My name is The Divine.
But you can call me God if you like.]
Rhys: [U-um, okay.
I guess…]
The Divine: [Do you remember what happened to you?]
Rhys: [I mean, yeah… I died, didn’t I?]
His eyes were calming down a bit.
A microdose of what you guys call laughing gas can really go so far.
The Divine: [Yes, you’re nothing more than a lost soul right now]
Rhys: [Cool.
So what do I do now?
Wait until you send me to heaven or something…?]
A cheeky smile ran across my humanoid face.
Making the air around Rhys feel strange once more.
The Divine: [Well now; it’s time for your reincarnation.]
Rhys: [Reincarnation?
So no heaven or hell?]
He was so confused, as his life; heaven and hell seemed like the most plausible options.
His hand was instinctively scratching his chest.
Nobody knows why.
The Divine: [Paradise is only a privilege for people who feel fulfilled with their life.
Right now, you still have a bunch of stuff you want to do.
Am I correct?]
Rhys seemed to be more and more bewildered by my words.
Rhys: [So.
How do I get into paradise?]
The Divine: [If you feel fulfilled with your next life.
Then you can join paradise.
But right now; focus on what you want to do with your next life.]
His face scrunched up whilst he was deep in thought.
He tried his best to think of something, anything that he dreamed of; but there was nothing.
All his life was nothing.
Nothing to dream about.
Going through the flow.
Letting the days pass by.
Then something came to the forefront.
Rhys: [I want everyone I meet in my next life to have a better death than mine…]
I did not think that was where his mind would go.
Hearing it for the first time was noble to be fair.
Rhys: [As long as they don’t get sad, then that’s enough for me, I guess]
The Divine: [Alright then.
It looks like your time here is up.
So you in your next life, Rhys.]
Rhys’s vision was fading away.
Rhys: [H-hey!
I still have some questions!!]
His body fizzled away like a puff of smoke.
Leaving behind the remnants of his lingerie voice with the vacuum.
The corners of my mouth slowly dropped as I got ready for another lost soul.
The Divine: [Lying to God is a bold move… boy.]
This is going to be 1000000000000000000x better than my previous masterpiece.
