Rhys: [So where’s that monster hiding right now?]
Rhys, Wolf, and Ms.
Hollow were all sitting inside a medieval carriage.
The guards were in the one in front of them.
The guy who was riding the horse that was walking them back didn’t seem to want to go into the forest with the rest of them.
Which was understandable.
Ms.
Hollow: [We don’t really know… the thing strikes random villages now and then, killing and eating anyone it can before leaving.]
Rhys: [when then, how are we supposed to find it then?
If it could be anywhere?]
Ms.
Hollow: [The thing usually attacks every 2-3 months, give or take.
And it’s always somewhere near the Stjerna Dynasty.
But the country’s massive, so it has been an enormous problem for over a decade at this point.]
Rhys: [What you’re getting at is… we’re just gonna wait for it to attack a random place and sneak attack?]
Ms.
Hollow: [I mean, we could… but I have a better idea!]
Rhys: [Which is…?]
Ms.
Hollow: [A decoy village…]
Wolf and Rhys were both a little confused.
How were they going to make an entire village in how much time they have?
Rhys: [When’s the last time that thing attacked someplace?]
Ms.
Hollow: [Around 2 months ago.
It made it to Lys, killing around 2 million people.
Which was around 98% of the population.
They’ve recovered now, but the damage still lingers to this day.]
Rhys: [Wow… we only have a month to make a decoy village?
How are we supposed to build something like that?!]
Ms.
Hollow: [Who said we had to build a decoy village…?]
Extreme confusion overwhelmed the two of them.
The rocking of their carriage wasn’t helping them either with her genius plan.
Ms.
Hollow: [There’s a city pretty close to Lys, only around a couple of hours away from each other.
Called Svarda.
My thought process is to evacuate everyone there with the permission of the Queen and the people; and somehow lure that thing to the village so we could attack.]
Rhys: [Didn’t you say the thing attacked at random?]
She nodded her head.
Rhys: [Then how are we supposed to find it, and bring it over to a city it might not be close to?!]
Ms.
Hollow: [Hmm… I honestly don’t know right now… But we have a month to figure this all out… so I’ll probably have something when we get there…]
Both Rhys and Wolf were not impressed with her level of unpreparedness.
They took a glance at each other, just long enough for her to notice.
Ms.
Hollow: [Well, do you have anything that we could do?]
He suddenly looked back at her with a serious expression.
Rhys: [This Thing, the reason it killed so many people is that of food.
Once it gets hungry every 2-3 months, it goes hunting for food.
It will alos attack places where a huge comotion is going on, most likely angering it to hunt anyway.]
Ms.
Hollow: [Wow!
How’d you know all of that?] This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.
He stiffened, feeling as if countless memories were going to surface again.
Rhys: [It’s just intuition…]
The carriage violently jolts up again, startling every inside.
Ms.
Hollow was getting annoyed, so she got up and poked her head out the door.
Ms.
Hollow: [Hey!
What are you doing up there!]
???: [Sorry, Miss!
This ground is just a little bumpy, that’s all!]
Ms.
Hollow: [Gonna give me a heart attack…]
She got her head back into their carriage.
Ms.
Hollow: [So what were you trying to get at with your intuition?]
Rhys: [We can pretend there’s some sort of loud, lively event going on when it should be around.
Like a celebration.]
Ms.
Hollow: [A celebration…?]
Rhys: [It’ll show the thing that there are people for it to kill.
And it’ll anger the thing to no end]
Ms.
Hollow: [That… might actually work…]
Rhys: [The only luck is hoping that thing will actually go after Svarda… Other than that it should work fine enough…]
Ms.
Hollow: [Yeah… that’s not the only thing we need to do though…]
Rhys: [What’s that?]
Ms.
Hollow: [We need to train!]
More memories surfaced to the forefront.
Remembering the excruciating pain of having all his bones shattered, his organs punctured with the fragments, and his lower jaw ripped off.
The thoughts sent shivers down his spine.
Ms.
Hollow: [The thing is ungodly fast, super durable, and is ruthless.
If we want to have any chance of doing anything, we need to train hard for this month!]
Rhys: [Do you… know anybody that can?]
Ms.
Hollow: [Yes!
I have a good acquaintance that can help immensely with making you into a beast.
You’re already super fast and strong on your own, but with her help, you’ll be unstoppable…]
Rhys: [Ok cool.
What’s her name?]
Ms.
Hollow: [I’ll tell you once you meet her.
She wanted me to do that for everyone new because she said it was cool.]
Rhys: [Does she already know that I’m coming?]
Ms.
Hollow: [Nope!
It’s just her signature.]
Rhys: [Wow…]
A wave of awkward silence hit the three of them, with Rhys having nothing else he wanted to ask about. You are reading on g.com, the official source.
Wolf had some questions, but obviously she couldn’t talk to ask about them.
Ms.
Hollow: [Solsidan is a pretty cool capital if you ask me… that’s the capital of Stjerna by the way…]
Rhys: [Really?
How long until we make it there?]
Ms.
Hollow: [Another day and a half…]
Rhys: [Are you kidding me?!]
He abruptly laid his head on the cushioned seat he was on.
Wolf jumped away before she could get crushed, making her a little pissed about his stealing.
He forcefully closed his eyes as well.
Rhys: [Wake me up once we make it there…]
He suddenly started snoring loudly in about five seconds.
Surprising both Ms.
Hollow and Wolf.
Ms.
Hollow: [Jesus…]
Tom: [hey… Ms.
Hollow… ma’am.]
Tom’s sudden appearance in the carriage startled her; he was poking his head in from the left side.
She didn’t ask too many questions about that.
Ms.
Hollow: [Yes!
What do you want?!]
Tom: [Your plan of yours…
are you sure this is safe?
You said it yourself that even you can’t beat it.]
Ms.
Hollow: [Yeah, why?]
Tom: [Why don’t you let Mogi deal with it by himself?
He seemed like the best thing to do it!]
Ms.
Hollow: [I’m not just gonna give up on something like this!
I’ve told you why I needed to do this!
Why would I come all this way to not get my revenge?
goddamn idoit!]
Tom’s face darkened a bit; his helmet was covering it up, but the shift in tone made it obvious either way.
Tom: [Wow… Really?
Okay… fine…]
He finally leaves her alone again, which relieved her.
She knew about the special feeling her guard had for her, which made it really easy for him to go along with her decisions.
Ms.
Hollow: Why is he always like this?
She thought, whilst also drifting in and out of sleep.
Wolf watched her as she rocked back and forth until finally falling face-first onto the carriage floor and falling asleep.
Now, there’s one thing I also made about Rhys: his body can sleep for a long time.
Days, weeks, maybe even months if he hasn’t slept in a while.
Usually someone wakes him up, so he doesn’t skip an entire week with nothing done.
This doesn’t really happen with any other angel.
In fact.
A lot of things don’t really happen with a lot of other angels.
Usually, only the bad ones.
The ones that disrespect me.
