“Oh God, what happened here?
Who bullied our Stella like this?”
Stella was crying so hard she could barely catch her breath when Tiffany showed up like some kind of savior.
One hand pressed to her waist, she deliberately pushed out her still-flat stomach as if afraid nobody would notice, while her other hand hooked around a maid’s arm.
Chin lifted, all arrogance and attitude, she strode straight toward Nina.
Nina’s whole body went stiff, like someone had just driven a knife right into her chest.
On a day like this, Ethan actually had the nerve to bring his mistress here out in the open?
Did he even see her, his legally wedded wife, as a person anymore?
No matter what, she was still the granddaughter-in-law the late Mr.
Blackwell had publicly acknowledged.
He couldn’t even wait one more day?
Ethan looked visibly awkward, his gaze darting away.
Tiffany had come with his mother, Vera.
He’d only realized later that she had tagged along too, and now, with everyone already here, throwing her out would only make the scene worse.
“Sister-in-law!” Stella had never called Nina that before, not once.
But now, calling Tiffany that, she made sure her voice rang out extra loud, like she was scared Nina might miss it.
She was obviously doing it on purpose, trying to disgust Nina, and she kept ranting, “Look at her!
That bitch actually shoved me—”
Before she could finish, a sharp stab of pain shot through her jaw.
Her mouth wouldn’t close.
Right in front of everyone, Nina had dislocated her jaw.
The move was so fast it was almost terrifying.
Even though Ethan saw it, there was no time for him to stop it.
“Bitch?” Nina raised her voice too, and this time she was speaking to every single member of the Blackwell family there.
“Who here do you think has the right to say that?
You people are the last ones who should be talking.”
“Ah!
Ahhh—” Stella let out a piercing wail, tears and snot smearing all over her face.
She kept yanking frantically at Tiffany’s sleeve, then shot desperate pleading looks at Ethan, practically begging him to save her.
“Nina, put Stella’s jaw back right now!”
Tiffany put on a show like she was standing up for Stella, but really, she was taking the chance to stir things up in front of Ethan.
“Ethan, do something about Nina already.
She brought a weapon and injured people from your security team, and now she’s being this brutal to Stella too.
Isn’t she basically trying to make this all about getting at you?”
His face darkened instantly.
“Nina, can’t you stop for once?” he said coldly.
“Look at the occasion.
Are you seriously going to keep making a scene here?”
How did this end up being her fault again?
When they begged her to come back, they were all humble and sweet.
Now their patience was gone?
The soft approach didn’t work, so they were switching to hardball?
Nina’s eyes went cold, sharp as frost.
“If she can’t stop running her mouth, maybe I should rip her tongue out and solve the problem for her.”
Stella got so scared she hurriedly shrank behind Tiffany.
Ethan couldn’t stand Nina talking back to him in front of outsiders.
His face darkened at once.
“Enough!
Stella’s still young.
She doesn’t always know when she’s gone too far.
Why are you scaring her?”
“She’s only a few months younger than me.
Since when does that excuse this kind of behavior?” Nina snapped, fury blazing in her chest.
“All that garbage she just said to me, and you’re really pretending you didn’t hear any of it?”
Ethan’s heart tightened.
He reached for her hand, trying to smooth things over.
“Let’s not fight here—”
“Wow.
Amazing.
Seriously, what a show.”
Roland clapped slowly, his voice dripping with mockery.
“A legally married wife gets cursed out in public by her sister-in-law.
Said sister-in-law even wants to call some mistress-to-be her big sister-in-law.
And the husband?
All he can do is tell his wife to swallow it and keep quiet.
Absolute next level.
I’m impressed.”
That one line hit every single grievance Nina had been forced to swallow.
Tiffany got called a mistress to her face.
Her expression turned green, then white, then ugly all over again.
She hurried to defend herself.
“But Nina bringing a weapon is a fact!
Leopold’s hand was pierced through by her.
Are we just supposed to let that slide?”
Roland was so annoyed he strode forward and yanked the two so-called “weapons” straight out of Leopold’s hand.
They were obviously nothing more than two completely ordinary chopsticks.
That morning, before leaving the house, Nina had thought the chopsticks on the dining table looked pretty nice, so she casually stuck two in her hair to use as hairpins.
“And this is what you call a weapon?” Roland let out a scornful laugh.
“By your logic, you’d better never eat with the President again.
Otherwise that counts as carrying deadly weapons and threatening presidential security.”
Tiffany flushed, caught off guard.
“That’s…
that’s not what I meant.”
Ethan pressed a hand to his throbbing temple and ordered the nearby guards, “Send the injured to the hospital.”
Leopold was in so much pain he was on the verge of passing out.
Hearing that, he finally let out a shaky breath of relief.
But right then, Nina’s icy voice cut through the air.
“These pieces of trash couldn’t even beat one woman.
How exactly did they make it into the presidential guard?”
“Mr.
President should really dig into this properly.
Don’t wait until everyone around you is full of holes and traps, and you’re still the only one clueless.”
“And anyway, there won’t be another idiot lining up to take a bullet for you ever again!”
The moment she finished, Nina turned and walked off without a pause, not even bothering to spare Ethan a single glance from the corner of her eye.
Roland hurried after her at once.
“Hey, wait up, Nina—”
Then, lowering his voice but not hiding the sarcasm at all, he said, “Tell me, is Mr.
President seriously out of his mind?
He actually brought his mistress here in broad daylight?
What, is he trying to piss the late Mr.
Blackwell off so hard he climbs right out of his grave?”
The man turned his head and cast a loaded glance back, the mockery in his eyes impossible to miss.
“At this rate, his grandfather must be turning in his grave.”
