"No, nothing. Hold on a second," said Xavier as he closed the door.
"Wait a while after I leave, then go back to your room," said Xavier to Fiona.

"Yes, about that, we will talk later. For now, just make sure no one sees you leaving my room," said Xavier as Fiona agreed, and then he left with Elena.
They walked out of the Emberfell dorms to the non-functional fountain. It was made like a roundabout, the fountain in the center with benches and trees around the pavement where students often gathered in the evening to hang around. It wasn’t late evening yet, but there were still a few students relaxing under the shade here and there.
"So, what are you up to now?" asked Xavier, walking beside Elena.
"What do you mean? Why would I be up to anything?" asked Elena.

"Maybe I just wanted to go on a walk with you in this nice weather," said Elena.
"Yeah, there’s no way you do something without any reason behind it, so how long do you want me to walk before you tell me?" said Xavier.
"Okay, okay," said Elena.
"So you must have heard the legends about the Imperial Academy, right?" asked Elena.
"The one that says the founder hid his treasures while building the academy. Yeah, I’ve heard of it," said Xavier.
It was a rumor everyone who had ever attended the academy had heard at least once.
Jane Evander, the 1st emperor who achieved the unification of the entire continent and founded the Evander Empire, hid the treasures he and the heroes used to seal the demon king in the academy during the time of its establishment.
"Seven to be exact. There are seven treasures hidden in the academy, and I have good reason to believe that one of them might be in the Emberfell dorms," said Elena.
"Haah, you know those are just rumors, right?" said Xavier.
"Every thesis is a hypothesis until it’s proven. All we need to do is find one treasure to prove that others exist," said Elena.
"I see. Good luck with that," said Xavier,
turning around towards the Emberfell dorms.
"Do you think I told you that just to get your wishes?" said Elena as she followed Xavier.
"I need your help to find it," said Elena.
"Yeah, I’m not getting into this whole conspiracy theory. I wanna enjoy my academy life, and I can’t do that if I’m spending all my free time hunting for treasures," said Xavier.
Their bickering kept going on all the way back to the dorms as Elena kept trying to convince Xavier to join her in her search for the treasure.
They entered the dorm and climbed the stairs. Before reaching the fourth floor, Elena pulled Xavier away from the stairs on the third floor.
"Hey, my room is on the fourth," said Xavier.
"Well, mine is on the third, and I’m not letting you go until I convince you," said Elena, pulling Xavier by his arm and entering room 344, just as luxurious as Xavier’s room.
She guided Xavier to take a seat on the sofa as she stood in front of him.
"So, what would it take for you to join me?" asked Elena.
"There’s nothing I want that you could give me," said Xavier.
"I disagree. People always want something. If it’s not money, it’s something else. What do you want?" said Elena, crossing her arms.
"That’s the voice of the merchant inside you, but this time it’s wrong. I truly don’t want anything," said Xavier.
"If it’s not something you want, then it’s something you need, but you just don’t realize what you need," said Elena.
"Okay, now I’m thrown off. What are you saying? I don’t understand," said Xavier.
"I didn’t want to go to such lengths, but..." said Elena as she sat next to Xavier, leaning close, putting one hand on his shoulder.
"Xavier, do you remember the ball at Drakenfell Castle 7 years ago?" asked Elena.
"Where’s this coming from?" asked Xavier.
But Elena didn’t respond and kept going.
"When everyone was busy chatting with each other, I followed you to the bathing quarters of the servants, where I caught you peeking at them through the outer window. You told me you got lost, and at that time I believed you," said Elena.
