Compared to Saya, Akira’s shower was much faster; just a simple rinse to wash off the zombie blood on his body, and he was done.
After showering, he saw a pair of men’s underwear placed on the counter at the bathroom entrance.
She even prepared a pair for me?
Akira hadn’t expected Takagi Saya to be so thoughtful.
After putting it on, he felt that his “little brother” still needed some time to go soft, so he got dressed, opened the bathroom door, and walked out.
Takagi Saya was already lying on the top bunk.
He didn’t know what kind of madness had taken hold of the girl, but she was rolling around on the bed non-stop.
[25L of water used, 25L of clean water remaining.]
The 50L of water exchanged for one Survival Point was already half used; it could support at most two people showering twice.
The original six Survival Points were reduced to only three after this; he needed to acquire more Survival Points.
Ignoring the movement from the girl in the top bunk, Akira lay on the bed and closed his eyes.
The night passed without incident.
…
Survival World, Day 3.
Early in the morning, Akira was awakened by the notification sound in his ear.
[Survivors, you have done well.
Starting from today, every two days, the surviving survivors will receive one Survival Point.]
[In the days to come, the level of monsters attacking at night will get higher and higher.
Your Dormitory is your last safe house.]
Akira rolled out of bed; the cold floor woke him up completely.
Takagi Saya poked half her body out from the top bunk.
The girl’s pink hair was a bit messy, and she had changed into a small camisole.
One of the straps had slipped down to her shoulder, revealing a patch of fair, tender skin.
The girl was clearly not paying attention to her attire at the moment.
“You heard that voice too, right.”
“If we just rely on points, it seems we can safely get through the early stage.
Our door is already a Level 1 door now; basically no monster can break through.” Takagi Saya calculated, “If we save food, we can hold out for four days.
Should we be a bit more conservative?”
Akira shook his head.
“No.
Do you remember?
The targets you [Tactical Reconnaissance] revealed—I suspect there is an underlying logic to the monster spawn points.
They likely spawn near resource points.”
Hearing Akira’s words, Takagi Saya’s expression changed.
Now that Akira mentioned it, it was true that the locations of these newly appeared monsters were all very close to the resource points.
“Our current food resources are only enough to last for four days.
Once four days pass, we will need to go look for new resources, and at that time, we will still have to face those monsters.” Akira moved his wrist, watching the black blade pop out from between his bones.
There is only one way to be truly safe; the monsters will get stronger and stronger.
“You have to be faster than them.”
Saying this, Takagi Saya pursed her lips and sighed.
“The plan remains unchanged.” Akira was right; in this world, if you just want to linger on in a desperate struggle, you won’t survive.
…
In the morning, the two first went to the convenience store again to clear out the remaining supplies.
[Killed 2 zombies, obtained 4 Survival Points; Takagi Saya obtained 2 points.]
[Devour successful!]
[Strength +2, Agility +2, Constitution +2!]
[Name: Akira]
[Strength: 16]
[Agility: 15]
[Constitution: 16]
[Spirit: 15]
After taking out the two zombies in the convenience store, Akira’s attributes had all reached an average of over 15 points, far exceeding the attributes of a top-tier athlete.
Feeling his body become full of power again, a smile appeared on the corner of Akira’s mouth.
He loved this feeling the most—things that his sickly body in his previous life could never do, he could now accomplish with ease.
After scavenging all the food and water resources from the convenience store, Akira also packed up other usable resources.
There was plenty of toilet paper and underwear in the convenience store, but very few wearable clothes and shoes.
After transporting the usable resources from the convenience store to the Dormitory, the two prepared to make plans for the next step regarding wood and steel.
The bicycle shed and the construction site—both places had the steel and wood needed for upgrading the Dormitory, but the scale of the two places was different, and the quantity of resources would also differ.
[Construction Site]
[Difficulty: Low-Medium]
[Resources: Wood resources, Steel resources (Quantity: Medium)]
[Note: Dangerous, two low-level monsters and one medium-low-level monster are active here.]
[Bicycle Shed]
[Difficulty: Low]
[Resources: Wood resources, Steel resources (Quantity: Low)]
[Note: Some danger, three low-level monsters are active here.]
The results of the Tactical Reconnaissance appeared immediately.
Takagi Saya adjusted her glasses and told Akira the results of the reconnaissance.
“The construction site has a higher level of danger, but the amount of resources is very rich, with one medium-low-level monster and two low-level monsters; the bicycle shed has fewer resources, but there are no medium-low-level monsters, only three low-level monsters.”
Akira’s mind stirred after listening.
“Is there any information on that medium-low-level zombie at the construction site?”
Saya immediately shared her intelligence with him.
[Monster Name: Worker Zombie]
[Monster Level: Low-Medium]
[Monster Trait: Equipped with Weapons and Armor]
[Monster Weakness: Head]
Weapons and armor?
This new trait made Akira pause.
Could monsters actually be equipped with items too?
“Which way are we going?” Takagi Saya looked at Akira, waiting for his decision.
“The construction site.”
Although there were wood and steel in the bicycle shed and the danger level was low, the two of them didn’t know exactly how little “a small amount” actually was.
After moving the supplies from the convenience store in the morning, they only had half a day left.
If the materials in the bicycle shed weren’t enough, it would delay the upgrade speed of the Dormitory by another day.
Furthermore, Akira felt that low-medium level monsters might not actually be that difficult to deal with now.
