Huang Wei and Ling Feng stepped into the Soul Hunting Forest.
They headed directly towards the west.
Because Ling Feng was one of the frequent visitors here, he knew some information about which Soul Beasts would likely live in that area.
And if they wanted to hunt a Blazing Mountain Pangolin, they should go to an area that somewhat satisfied the requirements of heat and fire sources.
That kind of Soul Beast would exist over there.
“If we need a Soul Beast that is just over a thousand years old, then we need to head directly to the intermediate area; after all, the outer area only has hundred-year Soul Beasts.”
“Once we enter the intermediate area, it will be even more dangerous; you must not leave my side for even a moment!”
Ling Feng’s voice was stern.
Huang Wei nodded.
“I understand, Teacher.”
“Also, try not to hunt Soul Beasts that we don’t need while we are in here.
After all, every Soul Beast has a very long growth period, and there are fewer Soul Beasts now than before.”
Ling Feng instructed.
Huang Wei nodded as he listened, following behind him.
He looked left and right.
Although the Soul Hunting Forest was a fenced-in and controlled forest, its area was still vast.
After walking for about an hour, and moving in a straight line the whole time, they finally truly stepped into the edge of the intermediate area.
Huang Wei asked, “Teacher, besides the Blazing Mountain Pangolin, are there any other Soul Beasts that meet the conditions I mentioned earlier?”
“Yes!”
Ling Feng revealed the appearance of an expert teacher, nodded, and explained, “The Blazing Explosion Ape is one of them.
This kind of Soul Beast possesses super strong attack ability and armor-breaking ability; it is even a better choice than the Blazing Mountain Pangolin.
Besides this, there are other bear-type Soul Beasts that lean towards the attack system which are also very suitable for you.
The reason I didn’t mention it before was because the probability of encountering this Blazing Explosion Ape and those others is not high.”
Hearing this, Huang Wei muttered, “What if we are lucky and run into one?”
“Then that would really count as us being lucky.” Ling Feng smiled.
They walked for another hour, and no Soul Beast came out to attack the two of them.
The journey was too smooth, right?
So Huang Wei brought up this doubt.
Ling Feng’s answer was: Most Soul Beasts are in the south of the Soul Hunting Forest, where the living conditions are more suitable for most Soul Beasts.
The ones they are looking for now belong to a specialized type.
Looking at the sky, he realized it was already noon without him noticing.
Seeing that they had been walking all morning without encountering a suitable Soul Beast, Ling Feng sat down under a large tree.
Huang Wei took out the food he had stored in his body from the morning, and Ling Feng also brought out some dry rations and water.
The former leaned leisurely against the large tree root, eating and drinking comfortably, showing no sense of tension from being deep inside this dangerous Soul Beast forest.
After all, there was a Spirit King-level powerhouse by his side.
At this junction between the inner and outer areas, even if a Soul Beast came out to attack them, it would be around a few hundred to one or two thousand years old, which a Spirit King could still easily handle.
As for him, he could find an opportunity to practice when the time came.
Looking at Huang Wei’s leisurely appearance, Ling Feng’s mouth twitched.
Bang!
Just as they were eating, suddenly a sound of an attack came out.
It startled both of them, and they immediately stood up.
“Teacher, is a Soul Beast attacking?” Huang Wei was suddenly extremely excited, immediately summoning the Bronze Spear into his hand, activating his Soul Power, and preparing for battle.
Seeing this, Ling Feng was very satisfied.
Then his gaze looked towards the direction where the explosion sound came from, and he said, “The sound came from our northwest direction.
I felt the fluctuation of Soul Power; it should be a Soul Hunting team fighting with a Soul Beast!”
Huang Wei frowned.
“Are we going to go over there?”
Ling Feng said, “No, we shouldn’t get involved in these matters.
Let’s set off to find your Soul Beast!”
“Okay!”
The two set off again.
The environment here gradually began to become dry and exposed rock ground.
There were also large trees and many vines and small grass vegetation around.
Just at this moment, Ling Feng felt a danger rushing towards them!
Looking over, it was actually an attack of high-temperature flames!
“Not good, a Soul Beast is attacking us!”
Ling Feng, who had been prepared for a long time, immediately summoned the Fire Evil Spear, and five Soul Rings—two yellow, two purple, and one black—instantly rose from beneath his feet!
The Fire Evil Spear slammed into the ground, and instantly a powerful force of Soul Power erupted, blocking the incoming flames!
At the same time, a creature over two meters tall, covered in raging flames and looking somewhat like an ape, appeared before the two.
Looking at the two humans before it, it revealed a fierce and hateful expression, angrily jumped up, and leaped directly onto a rock.
“Is this an ape?” Huang Wei, standing behind Ling Feng, was also shocked by the terrifying flame aura and the collision of powerful Soul Power just now.
A wisp of the flame’s airflow flew past his face, and he could feel the incomparable heat.
This thing would definitely be good for body tempering, but he didn’t have any body tempering techniques, and if he went up and got burned directly, he would die a miserable death.
Although his physical body had already reached the level of a Great Soul Master, he couldn’t withstand this kind of flame.
Ling Feng was stunned, then a flash of light passed through his eyes, and he said excitedly, “Xiao Wei, you are so lucky!
This is the Blazing Explosion Ape I was just telling you about!
My god!
What a coincidence!!”
“And looking at this guy’s height, size, and this Soul Beast aura, it is just a little over a thousand years old, and it looks like it just broke through not long ago!
Xiao Wei, your Soul Ring has arrived!”
“Do you really want a thousand-year first Soul Ring?
You can still regret it now; later, there will be no chance to regret it!”
Ling Feng’s voice rang out.
“This is the Blazing Explosion Ape?!
It really is fierce, cool, and flashy!
Teacher, I want it!
That’s right, I want to absorb a thousand-year one as my first Soul Ring, and I will absolutely not regret it!”
Huang Wei was extremely excited; it seemed the heavens were looking after him!
“Good!
As you wish!
You wait here for me!
Don’t wander off!”
After Ling Feng finished speaking, he directly activated his powerful Soul Power and leaped up!
“First Soul skills!
Blazing Spear Wind!”
The terrifying flames condensed into wind waves, and holding the Fire Evil Spear, he charged directly at the Blazing Explosion Ape!
Tsk tsk tsk!!!
A low sound of anger rang out from its ferocious face.
The Blazing Explosion Ape saw this person provoking it.
Instantly, the bloodlust belonging to battle within its body boiled!
Then it activated the power of the fire Beast Spirit on its body and slammed directly into him!
Bang!!
Ling Feng was originally an attack system melee Spirit King; its power was simply not something a Blazing Explosion Ape that had just barely crossed a thousand years could match.
Even though it was also an attack system combat Soul Beast, its level of strength was only equivalent to the Spirit Elder realm.
The gap of two major realms from a Spirit King was impossible to cross!
The next second, the Blazing Explosion Ape was knocked back, and Ling Feng continued to use his Soul Ring and Soul skills to chase and attack the Blazing Explosion Ape crazily.
He beat the Blazing Explosion Ape until it vomited blood and shattered the rocks, lying weakly on the ground.
Its four limbs were pinned down by four flame spear shadow clones.
The battle was over.
