Su Yuntao took a deep breath, calming the turbulent emotions stirred by the incident of awakening the “Innate Full Spirit Power Blue Silver Grass.”

Glancing at the two remaining children, Ning Chuan and Ning Xiaohe, he inexplicably felt somewhat more at ease.

It seemed the fortune of Holy Spirit Village had indeed been monopolized entirely by that child named Tang San.Full novel: Douluo Dalu: The Multiverse Recycling System! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The rest were likely just going through the motions, after which he could pack up and return to Nuoding City.

Thinking of Nuoding City, Su Yuntao’s heart warmed, and before his eyes seemed to appear Sisi’s graceful figure and captivating smile.

Once this mission was over, he would have a few days off.

Perhaps he could invite Sisi to the newly opened teahouse in the city…

Lost in pleasant thoughts, the somewhat fierce lines on Su Yuntao’s face, due to his Martial Soul Possession, seemed to soften slightly.

Fortunately, Ning Chuan was currently fully focused on his own Awakening and had no way of knowing the rich inner thoughts of this Grand Spirit Master.

Otherwise, he might have truly been unable to resist mentally cursing, “Simps get no house!”

“Alright, it’s your turn.” Su Yuntao collected his thoughts, his gaze falling on Ning Chuan.

His tone returned to its earlier businesslike manner, even carrying a hint of urgency before completing the task.

To him, there was no difference between the last one and the second-to-last.

Ning Chuan’s heart skipped a beat.

Despite being mentally prepared, despite constantly reminding himself that the original owner of this body was most likely just an ordinary passerby, when this moment truly arrived, the fear of the unknown and a lingering, absurd sense of hope he found ridiculous still coiled around him like vines.

Taking a deep breath, Ning Chuan stepped into the Awakening Array formed by six black stones.

The stone floor beneath his feet was cold, and the air still carried the faint remnants of the earlier Spirit Power fluctuations, especially the dazzling golden light from Tang San’s Awakening, which seemed not to have completely dissipated yet.

Standing still, he looked up at Su Yuntao, who had already released the Lone Wolf Possession but still had faint Spirit Power fluctuations surrounding him.

“Close your eyes and focus on sensing.” Su Yuntao’s voice was flat and unemotional as he extended a finger, a faint white halo of Spirit Power swirling at its tip.

As Su Yuntao pointed, a gentle yet guiding stream of Spirit Power instantly infused into the array.

Hum…

The six black stones lit up again, emitting a hazy golden halo that enveloped Ning Chuan.

Ning Chuan obeyed and closed his eyes, focusing his entire being on perception.

It’s here!

A warm current gently flowed into his body, moving along some strange path.

Deep within his body, something dormant seemed to be lightly stirred by this external force, beginning to awaken.

He felt a slight itch and warmth in the palm of his right hand, as if something was struggling to emerge.

However, this process… was utterly uneventful.

There was no earth-shattering golden pillar of light like Tang San’s, not even comparable to the earlier children who awakened sickles and hoes.

Ning Chuan’s heart sank bit by bit.

The last shred of unrealistic fantasy quietly shattered like a bubble in the sunlight.

The warm current receded, and the golden light faded away.

“Extend your right hand.” Su Yuntao’s voice rang out, devoid of any emotion.

Ning Chuan slowly opened his eyes and, following the instruction, spread open his right hand.

Resting quietly in his palm was a slender, delicate little plant.

It had only two or three leaves, slightly curled, appearing utterly unremarkable.

It looked almost identical to the Blue Silver Grass Tang San had awakened, though it seemed even more frail and thin.

“Blue Silver Grass.

Waste Martial Soul.

No Spirit Power fluctuation.” Su Yuntao glanced at it and, unsurprised, delivered the verdict.

His tone was so brisk he couldn’t be bothered to offer even a sliver of further explanation.

He then took the crystal ball from the side and held it out.

“Test for Spirit Power.”

Ning Chuan placed his left hand upon it.

The crystal ball showed no reaction, remaining dull and lifeless, like the most ordinary glass sphere.

“No Spirit Power.

Next.” Su Yuntao retrieved the crystal ball without even looking at Ning Chuan, turning directly to the last remaining child, Ning Xiaohe.

The entire process was swift, efficient, and carried an air of taken-for-granted indifference.

Ning Chuan silently stepped out of the Awakening Array and stood to the side.

He looked down at the faintly swaying Blue Silver Grass in his palm, his emotions a complex tangle beyond words.

Just as expected.

The perks of a transmigrator?

Non-existent.

Extraordinary talent?

Wishful thinking.

This was the stark reality, the reality for the vast majority at the bottom of the Douluo Continent: awakening a useless Waste Martial Soul, possessing no Spirit Power, unable to cultivate, destined for an ordinary life.

Disappointed?

Of course.

But strangely, it didn’t feel as world-shattering as he had imagined.

Perhaps it was because, from the moment he woke up, Ning Chuan had been mentally preparing for the worst.

Or perhaps it was because…

That so-called “All-Heavens Garbage Recycling Station” that had just bound to him in his mind, which he hadn’t even had time to examine properly, gave him a faint, almost laughable shred of confidence?

After all, could things get any worse than this?

A garbage station sounded a bit better than a Blue Silver Grass that could only be cut down by a sickle, right?

Just as Ning Chuan was lost in these random thoughts, his younger sister Ning Xiaohe’s Awakening was completed.

A slender plant Martial Soul appeared in the little girl’s palm, seemingly a pale white wildflower.

The Spirit Power testing crystal ball also showed no reaction.

“Also a Waste Martial Soul, no Spirit Power.” Su Yuntao announced flatly, then without delay began packing up the black stones and blue crystal balls on the floor, his movements efficient, his mind clearly already set on leaving.

Ning Xiaohe stared blankly at the unremarkable little white flower in her hand, then looked up at the equally pitiful Blue Silver Grass in her brother’s hand, before finally gazing at Su Yuntao’s indifferent back and his actions devoid of any lingering care.

The little girl’s eyes reddened almost instantly.

Glittering tears welled up, swirling desperately as she pressed her lips tightly together, fighting not to cry out loud.

Though she didn’t fully understand yet what “Waste Martial Soul” and “no Spirit Power” truly meant, Su Yuntao’s undisguised indifference and the vaguely sympathetic—or something else—looks from the other children around her made her clearly feel that this seemed like something very bad, something very sad.

Ning Xiaohe timidly walked over to Ning Chuan’s side, reached out her small hand, and tightly grasped the hem of her brother’s clothes, seeking her only anchor.

Sensing his sister’s fear and disappointment, Ning Chuan sighed softly in his heart.

He withdrew the Blue Silver Grass from his palm and, turning his hand, clasped his sister’s cold little fingers.

In a low voice, he comforted her, “It’s alright, Xiaohe.

Your brother is here.”

Su Yuntao paid no mind to the feelings of these two children at the moment.

For him, the Awakening mission in Holy Soul Village was now completely finished.

The only ripple—that Blue Silver Grass boy with Innate Full Spirit Power—had already been recorded.

Though it was a pity, it had nothing to do with him.

All Su Yuntao could think of now was returning to the Martial Soul Sub-Hall in Notting City as soon as possible to submit his report, and then going to see his goddess, Sisi.
