“Sister Tianmeng, can’t you turn into a smaller form?

You’re taking up half the bed.

How am I supposed to meditate tonight?”Full novel: Douluo: Reborn, The Silver Dragon King Became My Clingy Wife — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Huo Yuhao looked at the Skydream Ice Worm lying on his bed, who had already taken human form and was lazily stretching.

His voice was filled with helplessness.

The Skydream Ice Worm wore a light blue dress and reclined lazily on her side, her curves exquisitely defined, with her long, ice-blue hair scattered across the pillow.

She blinked her bleary, sleepy eyes and muttered discontentedly, “Why meditate?

After such a tiring day, of course you should just cuddle me and sleep, Yuhao.

This is a Shrek Academy dormitory, after all.

The bed might be a little small, but it’s soft, far more comfortable than sleeping in the Great Star Dou Forest.”

“It’s a single bed,” Huo Yuhao emphasized.

“What’s wrong with a single bed?

Given our relationship, why distinguish between single and double?” Sister Tianmeng patted the empty spot beside her with complete justification.

“Come here, let me hold you.”

Huo Yuhao pressed a hand to his forehead.

He had just made his bed with the academy-issued bedding and set up his meditation array plate underneath.

Before he even had a chance to catch his breath, Sister Tianmeng had already brazenly claimed his bed.

As his first Spirit Soul, the Skydream Ice Worm could appear beside him anytime, anywhere, either as a spiritual projection or in physical form.

In this small single dorm, she seemed to prefer taking human form and crowding onto his bed.

“Go back into my sea of consciousness to sleep.

It’s much more spacious in there,” Huo Yuhao tried to reason with her.

“No way.

It’s freezing in there.

Holding you is much warmer.” As Sister Tianmeng spoke, she even shuffled toward the middle of the bed, leaving him even less room.

Huo Yuhao was completely out of options.

He looked out the window.

The moonlight poured like water through the window frame onto the floor, while the distant, intermittent chirping of crickets made the night seem exceptionally serene.

This was the east side of the academy, near the faculty quarters—a rare and quiet spot indeed.

*Whatever.

I’ll just squeeze in.*

Just as he was about to take off his outer coat and make do for the night, a soft knocking sound suddenly came from the door.

*Knock, knock-knock.*

The sound was faint, carrying a hint of hesitation.

Huo Yuhao froze.

Who could it be this late?

“Who is it?” Sister Tianmeng also sat up on the bed, looking toward the door with curiosity.

Huo Yuhao walked over, opening the door gently with a mix of caution and confusion.

Outside, bathed in moonlight, a slender silhouette stood quietly.

Gu Yuena wore a pure white silk nightgown, the smooth fabric hugging her golden-ratio figure.

Moonlight cascaded over her signature long silver hair, as if plating every single strand with a holy aura.

She wore no shoes, standing quietly on the cool stone path with a pair of delicate, fair bare feet.

Her face remained expressionless, her purple eyes in the night like two bottomless pools, staring straight at Huo Yuhao.

For a moment, Huo Yuhao’s brain went blank.

He had imagined countless possibilities, but she was the absolute last person he expected.

Wasn’t she supposed to be in the girls’ dormitory?

Before Huo Yuhao could speak, Gu Yuena brushed past him and walked inside as naturally as if entering her own home.

She gaze swept across the small room, finally settling on the woman with long ice-blue hair on the bed.

Her brow furrowed imperceptibly, but she quickly returned to her tranquil composure.

Then, she sat down on the other side of the bed’s edge, her movements fluid and completely natural.

The air in the entire room seemed to freeze solid.

Sister Tianmeng looked at the silver-haired girl who had barged in, then at Huo Yuhao, who was still petrified near the doorway, her lovely face written with a giant question mark.

Huo Yuhao finally found his voice.

He shut the door, turned around, and looked at Gu Yuena sitting on the bed.

“…Where’s your dorm room?” he asked dryly.

Gu Yuena raised her head, her purple eyes fixing on him as she uttered two concise words: “Too far.”

The excuse was so overwhelmingly powerful that Huo Yuhao couldn’t even refute it.

For someone capable of manipulating space itself, distance probably depended entirely on whether she felt like walking.

“I… only have one bed here.” Huo Yuhao bit the bullet and pointed at the single bed—half of which was already claimed by Sister Tianmeng, and a corner of which was now taken by her.

“I know,” Gu Yuena replied as calmly as ever.

“I’ll just sleep next to you.”

“…”

Huo Yuhao was left completely speechless.

Her purple eyes were crystal clear, filled with total earnestness, as though she were stating the most normal matter in the world.

The atmosphere in the room turned extraordinarily weird.

Sister Tianmeng looked between the two of them, the flames of gossip burning brightly in her eyes.

Huo Yuhao took a deep breath, feeling he had to defend his last shred of dignity as the owner of the room.

“Gu Yuena, this is Shrek Academy.

Men and women shouldn’t be cohabitating like this.

It’s inappropriate.”

Gu Yuena listened quietly until he finished.

Then, a sudden ripple stirred in her usually unruffled purple eyes.

She tilted her head slightly, her gaze flickering as she looked at Huo Yuhao.

A barely discernible trace of grievance entered her previously flat voice.

“I could sleep with you at home, but I can’t once we leave?”

Her voice was soft, slightly nasal, brushing over Huo Yuhao’s heart like a feather.

Huo Yuhao froze completely.

Immediately afterward, the corners of Gu Yuena’s mouth turned slightly down, a hint of accusation in her gaze.

In a tone he had never heard from her before—one touched with playful pouting—she drew out her words soft and low:

“Huo Yuhao, you big baddie…

*Hmph~*”

*BOOM.*

Huo Yuhao felt as if a bolt of thunder had struck his mind, turning it instantly blank and sending his brain buzzing.

What had he just seen?

What had he just heard?

Gu Yuena…

the Gu Yuena who remained cold and distant no matter what, as if nothing in the world could leave an impression on her heart.

That Silver Dragon King, an existence possessing world-shattering power…

was actually acting cute with him?!

And in a tone…

a tone that could melt any man’s bones into jelly!

How was he supposed to refuse that?!

It was completely impossible to refuse, okay?!

Beside them, Sister Tianmeng’s jaw dropped in shock.

She looked at Huo Yuhao’s completely entranced state, then at Gu Yuena, who had suddenly turned into a coquettish young girl, her expression becoming exceedingly complex.

*This Silver Dragon King is playing on a ridiculously high level!*

A fierce war was raging inside Huo Yuhao’s heart.

Reason told him this was absolutely out of the question.

If word got out, it would cause a massive misunderstanding.

Yet emotionally, facing Gu Yuena like this, he couldn’t bring himself to utter a single word of refusal.

What was worse, Sister Tianmeng was sitting right there, eyeing them like a hawk!

She was already taking up half the bed!

Huo Yuhao glanced left at the lazy, alluring Sister Tianmeng, then right at Gu Yuena, who wore a look of aggrieved stubbornness.

A desperate thought welled up from the depths of his soul.

*Whatever.

Screw it.

Just let me be destroyed…*

Giving up all resistance, he walked expressionlessly to the bed and lay down in the sliver of space left between Tianmeng and Gu Yuena.

“Yuhao, you’re so warm,” Sister Tianmeng immediately wrapped around him like an octopus, placing an arm over his chest and pulling her head close to nuzzle intimately against his neck.

On the other side, Gu Yuena didn’t make such exaggerated moves, but she quietly lay down, pressing right up against Huo Yuhao’s other side.

Huo Yuhao could distinctly feel the touch coming from her—cool yet impossibly soft—along with the delicate fragrance emanating from her hair.

Huo Yuhao lay stock-still in the middle, his body rigid as a wooden plank.

On his left was a warm, passionate, mature charm; on his right was the cool, moonlight-scented fragrance of a young maiden.

What training?

What meditation?

Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night.

…

The next morning, just as the horizon turned pale with the first light of dawn, a rhythmic knocking echoed once more.

This knocking was far clearer and firmer than the night before.

“Huo Yuhao, wake up for morning practice!” came Wang Qiuer’s crisp, energetic voice from outside.

On the bed, Huo Yuhao, sporting dark circles under his eyes, struggled to open them.

He had barely slept all night.

As powerful as his spiritual power was, even he couldn’t withstand the torture of having absolute beauties on both sides.

He gently shifted Sister Tianmeng’s arm off his body, then carefully pulled away from Gu Yuena, slipping out of bed like a thief.

Sister Tianmeng and Gu Yuena also seemed to be awakened by the knocking.

Sister Tianmeng rubbed her bleary eyes and yawned, while Gu Yuena sat straight up, her long silver hair cascading like a waterfall.

Her expression was cool and aloof, without a trace of sleepiness visible. New chapters come out on g.com first.

“Who is it?

So early in the morning, can’t a girl get some sleep?” Sister Tianmeng grumbled discontentedly.

“It’s Wang Qiuer,” Huo Yuhao replied softly as he put on his outer coat.

He walked to the door, took a deep breath, braced himself mentally, and opened it.

At the doorway, Wang Qiuer wore crisp, martial attire, her long golden hair tied into a high ponytail, looking dashing and spirited.

Seeing Huo Yuhao open the door, a radiant smile appeared on her face.

“You’re quite punctual…

Uh…”

Her smile froze on her face.

Because behind Huo Yuhao, she saw two women of completely different styles—yet equally breath-takingly beautiful—strolling lazily out of his room in sleepwear.

One was a stunningly charming beauty in a light blue dress.

The other was an exquisitely gorgeous girl in a pure white nightgown, with silver hair and purple eyes, bearing an aura as cold and pure as a fairy from the moon palace.

Wang Qiuer’s lovely golden eyes widened instantly.

Her gaze darted back and forth between Huo Yuhao’s weary face and the two women behind him, who clearly had just woken up as well.

An indefinable awkwardness and strangeness filled the air.

A few seconds later, the shock on Wang Qiuer’s face gradually faded, replaced by an extraordinarily complex, truly spectacular expression.

There was shock, disbelief, sudden realization, and finally, it all dissolved into a thick layer of teasing banter.

Looking at her face, Huo Yuhao knew things had already taken a turn for the absolute worst.

He felt his temples throbbing violently.

Expressionless, he could only offer an explanation in a voice he himself found utterly unconvincing: “Qiu’er, don’t misunderstand.

It’s not what you think.”

Hearing this, Wang Qiuer lightly raised an eyebrow, a playful curl touching the corner of her lips as she crossed her arms with keen interest.

Looking Huo Yuhao up and down, she drawled unhurriedly, “Oh?

And what do I think it is?”

“…”

Huo Yuhao was choked into silence once more.

How could he explain?

Say that one was his million-year Spirit Soul and the other was the Silver Dragon King, and they simply slept on his bed last night without anything happening?

If he said something like that out loud, forget Wang Qiuer not believing it—he wouldn’t even believe it himself.

Just then, footsteps came from not far away.

“Oh, it’s Yuhao and Wang Qiuer.

You two woke up so early,” Tang Ya’s gentle voice reached them.

Huo Yuhao turned to look and saw Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan walking together out of the adjacent dorm building, seemingly heading out for morning exercise as well.

However, as they drew near and clearly saw the “one man and two women, loosely dressed” scene at Huo Yuhao’s doorstep, both of them froze mid-stride.

A moment of stunned surprise flashed across Jiang Nannan’s classic, tranquil face, before being rapidly replaced by understanding and embarrassment.

Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she subconsciously avoided Huo Yuhao’s gaze.

Tang Ya’s reaction was much more direct.

After staring blankly for a second, a flash of surprise crossed her eyes, followed immediately by a look sent to Jiang Nannan that said, “We get it.”

Then she grabbed Jiang Nannan’s hand, turned on her heel, and hurried away, declaring loudly:

“Oh my, Nannan, I just remembered the scenery over there is lovely!

Let me take you for a walk over there.

I didn’t see anything at all!”

Jiang Nannan caught on immediately, keeping her head low as she chimed in, her voice as quiet as a mosquito’s buzz, “Mm, me too.

I didn’t see a thing.”

Having said their piece, the two picked up their pace without looking back, quickly vanishing around the bend of the path as though being pursued by fierce beasts.

Huo Yuhao stood at the door, watching their fleeing backs, then glanced at Wang Qiuer, who wore an “I see through everything” expression.

Finally, he looked at the two culprits behind him, who were completely oblivious to the severity of the situation.

He felt the world spinning around him.

He was finished.

On his very first day of school, Huo Yuhao’s “innocence” was utterly ruined.

Seeing his completely hopeless expression, Wang Qiuer finally couldn’t help bursting into laughter.

She stepped forward, gently nudging Huo Yuhao’s arm with her elbow, and lowered her voice to tease, “Not bad, Yuhao.

I really couldn’t tell.

You seem to be a bit greedy this time~ But…

can your body handle it?”

Huo Yuhao stared at her expressionlessly, squeezing a few words through his gritted teeth: “Let’s go do morning practice.”

Right now, he didn’t want to say another word.

He just wanted to find a place to be alone.

His new life at Shrek Academy seemed, from day one, to be hurtling out of control in a direction he could never have predicted.

Yet beneath this chaotic and hilarious beginning, Huo Yuhao was remarkably clear-headed inside.

He had come here not merely to study and cultivate.

In this number-one academy on the continent, there were old acquaintances he had to meet and karma he had to settle.
