“Whaat are you doing?!”

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” The middle-aged woman apologized repeatedly. Everyone’s eyes turned to them.

“My screen is broken, tell me what I should do?” Shu Shu looked at them.Full novel: Downstairs 249, Upstairs 251 — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Ah? We pay…”

“Sure! To change an original screen costs 900 dollars, give me the money!” Shu Shu put out her hand.

The woman was shocked, “So expensive?”

She then showed an awkward expression, and tugged on her old clothes cautiously.

A smile curled upwards on the man’s aged face, “Miss, you can’t extort money from us. You bumped into us yourself, and then you asked us to pay you that much money! How will I have that money? You can even buy a new phone using 900 dollars!”

The woman also came forward and looked at her, trying to please, “Miss, it’s unintentional, we are just trying to bring our child to the doctor, we have no money!”

Shu Shu looked at the child again, “You’re not paying me? Then I’ll report it to the police!”

“No! Miss, we really don’t have the money!” The woman turned anxious, and came forward with an uneasy face.

Some people had began to gather around them, and a young lady around her twenties came forward to say,

“Pretty girl, I see that you’re also not a poor person, and you are the one who knocked into them just now. Don’t extort money from honest people, can you?” She glared at Shu Shu with a face of righteousness.

More people began to stand around them. Some even took out their phones. In this world of technological advancement, the first thing people do was not to care about the factor and consequence, but to record it and upload it on the internet.

They used it as a joke, or to stand at the peak of moral values to condemn others.

The couple also saw that people had taken out their phones. The man’s face became tense, “Miss, we really don’t have the money, this is all our money. Now we have to take the train, we need to go.”

He took out a roll of money from his bag, and there was even a cent inside. They were all small changes that made it look almost pitiful.

Shu Shu grabbed the middle-aged man with both hands, holding tightly, “You can’t go!”

“Hey, what kind of person are you! Can you have some sympathy? How much money do you need, I’ll give it to you!”

Showing her righteousness, people around them also began to discuss among themselves, as more people gathered.

The man couldn’t stand his ground anymore and was about to escape with the child. Shu Shu held onto him firmly, and the woman also came to pull her away with explosive strength. Shu Shu fell down to the ground, but she still hugged the man’s leg, unwilling to release it.

“What are you all still looking at?! Call the police!”

The people around them started to feel something was wrong, and were hesitating, “We’re not human traffickers!” The source of this chapter is g.com.

The woman shouted. The two of them looked so plain that the bystanders were confused.

“What are you still thinking?! Use your brain, call the police!” She shouted at the young lady.

“Oh, oh.” She took her phone out in a rush, her face filled with panic.

The man saw that someone was going to call the police, and kicked Shu Shu hard. She was dragged across the ground and her arm started to bleed from the friction.

The people around them ran up to them immediately. Even an idiot could see that something was wrong.

“Don’t go first, explain yourself!” A few men grabbed them and turned to Shu Shu,

“Pretty girl, you can stand up now, we’re holding on to them!” Shu Shu only stood up after that, and touched her arm.

Security guards and managers came over first, then the police on duty also arrived. The commotion became bigger.

“What happened?”

Everyone looked at Shu Shu.

“The child they’re carrying is not theirs, the child is passed out all this time. I suspect that they are human traffickers!”

“Is this child yours?”

“It’s ours!” The middle-aged man said.

“Impossible, this child is obviously unconscious, and seeing how you looked, you can’t even believe it when I need 900 dollars to change a screen. So how could you manage to buy this clothes costing about a few thousand dollars for this child?! I only said the word police, then why did you have to run? Don’t resist it anymore, we called the police and they’ll be here soon!”

The middle-aged woman looked desolate. The truth was obvious.

The police arrived, and took the couple, the child, Shu Shu, the young lady, and the man who took the full video to make a report.

They did steal the child. This couple came from a mountainous area far away, and both of them were poor farmers. They had a child in the past, which got sick and died young. Since then, they never had another child.

In the past few years, the two of them continued to farm diligently to make money. The doctor told the woman that she couldn’t conceive a child anymore when they went to the hospital last time. The man didn’t blame her but he was very unhappy.

They worked hard to earn another two years of money and came here. They hoped they could silently contact the human traffickers in this big city.

However, they were disappointed. The country put a lot of pressure on this, and they also didn’t have a choice. This was an immoral matter that would earn them a scolding if they even tried to speak up a little.

Initially, they planned to buy a ticket to go back home, but before they did, they wanted to sightsee the big city. They met this child in the park!

There were a few children playing, and the nannies were chatting at the side. This child knocked into them with his small race car. He came down and apologized to them politely. Both of them were enthralled.

It was easy to guess what happened next. They found a small clinic and bought some tranquilizers. As for which clinic sold it to them, the police wouldn’t let them go either.

The conscience that remained in them made them leave all their money into the small race car.

The small boy woke up early. He cried once he woke up. No matter how mature he was, he was still a child, and he was still afraid about what happened in the park.

The few police were helpless. Shu Shu was still telling them about how she found out something was wrong, when she saw him and pulled him to her.

“Small child, don’t cry anymore, man up like a boy. Quickly wipe your tears away and tell the police your parents’ names!”

The small boy still couldn’t stop crying and hiccuped. The police then said,

“Listen to this sister, she saved you today. Look at her arm, it’s injured because of you. You need to listen to us so that you are worth her effort!”

The small boy blinked and looked at Shu Shu. She smiled at him gently, then patted him lightly,

“Cooperate with the police, let them contact your parents and you can go home!”

The young boy finally nodded, “Thank you sister!”

After they finished giving their statement and were about to leave, the small boy suddenly hugged her leg,

“Sister, my name is Yang Yang!”

Shu Shu smiled, “Yang Yang, my name is Shu Shu!”

When she was leaving, the small boy’s parents hadn’t arrived yet. Shu Shu moved her arm around and planned to go to the hospital, since she cared for her body very much.

……

“What?! Yang Yang is missing?!” Yu Yu was greatly in shock and jumped up, his eyes showing red.

(TN: Welp, Yang Yang is Yu Yu’s cousin)
