Welcome to a world of witchcraft and wizardry. A world both familiar and new.
The story of Draconia Malfoid takes place during Malfoy’s fifth year at Hogwarts, corresponding to Harry Potter Book 5: Order of the Phoenix. Chances are, you already know the events of Order of the Phoenix, having read the book or watched the film.
My goal is to show you something new. Simply rewriting someone else’s story and hitting the same beats in the same order would be rather boring. Instead, this story changes the genders of several characters and branches into an alternate timeline, exploring different events, a new side of Hogwarts life, and characters who were largely NPCs in the original series. Ahem, Crabbe and Goyle.
Here are some of the key differences in my version of the wizarding world.
Aftermath of the Triwizard Tournament
Unlike in the original series, Harry is not stigmatised by the events surrounding the Triwizard Tournament. Things unfold differently, leaving less suspicion directed at him while He-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named remains hidden.
Sybill Trelawney’s Prophecy
Voldemort... oops, I mean He-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named, never learns of Sybill Trelawney’s prophecy. Instead, he pursues the Hollow King.
This is not Order of the Phoenix with a gender-bending reskin. I don’t rewrite other people’s stories; I make my own. Fanfiction is no exception!
Other Changes
Changing a character’s gender can lead to different decisions and, consequently, different outcomes. Even familiar places and magical objects may behave differently. The exit to the Room of Requirement, for example, can change, while Horcruxes and other magical artefacts may have altered effects.

Draco Becomes a Girl
I’m not simply giving Draco Malfoy a female reskin. My aim is to reimagine the character, retaining their shortcomings while exploring new strengths.
Draco’s mindset and worldview were never fully explored in the original books, so I’ve taken the opportunity to explore the perspective of a fashionista and diva who dominates Hogwarts’ social scene.
You’ll also discover sides of familiar characters that have rarely been explored: their vulnerabilities, their flaws, their personal struggles, and their capacity for love. You’ll see Draconia at her best, her absolute worst, her most vulnerable, and, of course, her most loving.

Malfoy Timeline
1769 – Fleeing persecution in Switzerland, Axeron Severus Malfoy settles in Scotland, joining a wizard-only community in Hogsworth (later Hogsmeade).
Malfoid Timeline
1769 – Fleeing persecution in Switzerland, Axeron Severus Malfoy settles in Scotland, joining a mixed-wizarding community in Astonia (later Aranshire). Still fearful, Axeron changes his name to Axios Severus Malfoid.
The Brum Family
Malfoy Timeline
1943 – Victor Brum marries a Muggle while keeping his magical heritage secret.
1950 – Victor Brum's daughter exhibits magical abilities.
1951 – Estonia Brum murders her wizard husband and daughter.
Malfoid Timeline
1943 – Victoria Brum marries a Muggle while keeping her magical heritage secret. She becomes Mrs Edwards.
1950 – Victoria Brum's son exhibits magical abilities.
1951 – Erik Edwards murders his witch wife and son. Victoria dies screaming and transforms into a Voisych.
The Prophecy and the Return of Voldemort

1980 – Draco Malfoy is born.
1980 – Sybill Trelawney makes a prophecy during a school interview concerning Harry Potter and Voldemort. Snape overhears it.

1980 – Draco Malfoy is born.
1980 – Sybill Trelawney makes a prophecy during a school interview concerning Harry Potter and Voldemort. Snape does not overhear it.

1995 – Voldemort returns and murders Cedric Diggory.
1995 – Professor Snape informs Voldemort about Sybill Trelawney's prophecy from 1980.
1995 – Draco Malfoy returns to Hogwarts to begin his fifth year.

1995 – Voldemort returns and murders Cedric Diggory.
1995 – The Voisych attacks Voldemort, and the Dark Lord binds the creature. While under his control, the Voisych informs the Dark Lord about the Hollow King.
1995 – Draconia Malfoid returns to Hogwarts to begin her fifth year.
1996 – Draconia Malfoid and Harry Potter...
