Master Roshi agreed to Alvin’s request.
From that moment on, Alvin and Goku no longer had to worry about ring-outs or staying on the platform.
The only rule left was simple:
Don’t endanger the spectators.
After defeating Yamcha, Krillin, and Tien, Alvin’s battle power had risen to 386.
Goku, meanwhile, was hovering around 260.
If Alvin fought at full strength, Goku probably wouldn’t last more than three exchanges.
So instead, Alvin deliberately suppressed his own power, matching Goku’s level and using the fight to draw out the hidden potential still sleeping within him.
“Come on, Goku!”
Once the spectators had retreated to a safe distance, Alvin grinned and called out loudly.
“Haaah!”
Goku shouted as he burst forward, attacking first.
He moved so quickly that ordinary eyes couldn’t even follow him.
Alvin met him head-on without yielding an inch.
Fist collided with fist.
Kick met kick.
Bang!
Bang!
The continuous impacts echoed across the arena.
Tien’s expression grew increasingly serious.
“So fast…”
“I can’t even see them anymore.”
Krillin stared at the battlefield in amazement.
The two fighters had already reached a level beyond anything he had ever witnessed.
As one of Earth’s strongest martial artists, Krillin’s dynamic vision had been honed alongside his combat ability.
Even so…
He couldn’t keep up with their movements at all.
That alone showed just how terrifyingly powerful they had become.
“Don’t rely on your eyes.”
“Use your ki.”
“Sense the battle instead.”
“When the difference in strength becomes this great, your eyes become unreliable.”
“Your ki is far more useful.”
Master Roshi truly lived up to his reputation as one of Earth’s greatest martial artists.
Although he had only recently learned ki sensing after Alvin pointed him in the right direction, he was already able to use it to follow the battle.
Aside from Krillin, everyone in the group could now sense ki.
They silently observed the clash between Alvin and Goku.
The collision of those two immense auras…
Was no less overwhelming than King Piccolo’s.
When Krillin realized that even Lazuli and Lapis could sense the battle while he still couldn’t, his confidence took another blow.
“I’ve only been dead for a few days…”
“How does it already feel like the whole world has moved on without me?”
For the first time, Krillin understood exactly how Alvin’s family had felt earlier.
It was as though the world had received a major update…
And somehow he’d been left behind.
Meanwhile, the battle only grew fiercer.
As the exchange intensified, Goku’s ki continued climbing.
“Around 300 now…”
Alvin carefully gauged the aura radiating from his opponent.
Not yet…
He can go even higher.
“Yaah!”
Goku’s expression was utterly focused.
His small fists struck with enough force to shatter solid rock.
Yet Alvin blocked every blow with apparent ease.
“Hah!”
Alvin landed a clean punch to Goku’s abdomen before following with a powerful kick that launched him into the air.
Without hesitation, Alvin shot upward after him using Flight.
Clasping both hands together, he hammered Goku straight back toward the ground.
BOOM!
The impact exploded like a bomb.
Dust and debris surged skyward, completely swallowing Goku from sight.
“Goku!”
Krillin cried out in alarm.
The words had barely left his mouth when a figure burst out of the smoke.
Goku rocketed into the sky and slammed a punch into Alvin, sending him crashing toward the earth in return.
Those capable of sensing ki remained calm.
Although the two looked like they were beating each other senseless…
Neither one’s aura had weakened noticeably.
The battle continued high above the ground.
Through fighting Alvin, Goku had already grasped the principles of Flight, learning how to use his ki to soar freely through the sky.
The battle between Alvin and Goku raged high in the sky, leaving the ordinary spectators completely dumbfounded.
Humans…
can fly?
Neither of them had wings, yet they soared freely through the air, exchanging blows at incredible speed as if gravity simply didn’t exist.
“So they’ve both mastered Flight.”
Tien glanced at Chiaotzu, who nodded in agreement.
Flight wasn’t considered an especially advanced technique.
In the original timeline, even Videl, with a battle power of only around eighty, had learned it shortly after understanding how to control her ki.
After watching the battle for so long, Master Roshi turned to everyone capable of sensing ki.
“You’ve all learned quite a bit just by observing Alvin and Goku.”
“When you return, don’t become complacent.”
“The future of martial arts will be carried forward by all of you.”
His gaze settled on his two disciples.
Krillin.
Yamcha.
Neither of them possessed Goku’s pure, unwavering devotion to martial arts.
“We understand.”
Yamcha nodded seriously.
“I may not surpass Goku…”
“But at the very least, I won’t let myself fall behind.”
Krillin clenched his fists.
“Yamcha…
explain this ki sensing thing to me.”
“I’ve only been dead for a few days, but somehow it feels like everyone has left me behind.”
As Yamcha patiently began explaining the principles of ki and ki sensing, the battle overhead shifted once more.
Alvin and Goku descended from the sky, preparing to continue on the ground.
Compared to Alvin’s calm, composed appearance…
Goku looked far worse.
Bruises covered his body.
His clothes were torn in several places.
A thin trail of blood lingered at the corner of his mouth.
“His growth is slowing down.”
Alvin carefully judged Goku’s strength through the force behind each attack and the intensity of his ki.
When Goku’s battle power had risen from 260 to 300, the increase had been astonishingly rapid.
Now…
From 300 onward…
The improvement had become noticeably slower.
Alvin estimated Goku would ultimately stabilize somewhere around 350 to 360.
Panting heavily, Goku charged once more.
Even knowing Alvin was stronger…
He had no intention of giving up.
That was simply who Goku was.
A martial artist who loved fighting.
A warrior who delighted in challenging stronger opponents.
“Haaah!”
Almost instinctively, Goku unleashed his ki.
It flooded every part of his body, strengthening his muscles as a brilliant white aura erupted around him.
“Fight, Goku.”
“Release every last bit of power hidden within the Ultra Divine Water.”
Alvin rushed forward again.
The collision between the two unleashed violent shockwaves that blasted dust and gravel into the air.
A miniature sandstorm swept across the battlefield, forcing the spectators to shield their eyes.
Just as quickly as it appeared…
The dust dispersed.
When the cloud finally cleared, everyone looked up to see Goku floating in the air with a brilliant blue sphere of energy gathered between his hands.
“Kamehameha!”
A massive blue beam erupted toward Alvin.
It contained nearly all of Goku’s remaining strength.
Even Alvin couldn’t afford to underestimate an attack of that magnitude.
“Kamehameha!”
Another brilliant blue beam burst from Alvin’s palms.
The two energy waves collided in midair.
For a moment…
Neither side gave an inch.
Their beams pushed against one another in perfect balance.
After several tense seconds, both fighters simultaneously dispersed their attacks.
Goku slowly descended to the ground, breathing heavily.
“I lost.”
He smiled brightly despite his exhaustion.
“You’re really amazing.”
“No wonder you defeated that evil monster.”
“But next time…”
“I won’t lose.”
Alvin walked over, wrapped an arm around Goku’s shoulders, and laughed.
“Then let’s fight again next time.”
The two walked back toward the others side by side.
Because Alvin had already inherited Goku’s battle power earlier that month, the system granted him nothing this time.
But he didn’t mind.
This wasn’t a battle fought for strength.
It was a battle fought for the joy of martial arts.
A battle that helped Goku unlock even greater potential.
To Alvin…
That was far more meaningful than simply gaining another increase in battle power.
Send those stones my way—the more, the merrier.
