While Zukishi was busy making his wishes, his nose couldn’t stop itching, and he felt someone was talking about him non-stop.
And he was right.
Somewhere in the vast galaxy, on a very large ship that could host an army, King Vegeta was on one knee, fist on the ground, looking up at a short guy in a floating chair.
The little guy looked like a humanoid version of a breed between a dragon and a lizard.
He looked at King Vegeta with a sneer, as if the king before him wasn’t worth as much as a janitor in his eyes.
“Hohoho.
You came crawling to me, Vegeta,” said the floating humanoid, his tone mocking.
“Yes, Lord Frieza,” replied Vegeta.
Even though he was an arrogant, proud king, he hadn’t forgotten the terrors King Cold had shown him, and he hadn’t forgotten the overwhelming difference in strength.
Compared to him, King Vegeta, who had merely 10 thousand power level, Frieza had half a million power levels.
And his father was even stronger.
It was understandable why Frieza would look at him as a mere servant, nothing.
But he wasn’t the only one who dared to look at him that way.
Besides the floating Frieza stood two of his elite guards.
One was a handsome, tall man who had light green skin and dark green hair.
The other was a large, fat, red alien with spikes on his head.
They looked at him with no respect, and each time he visited and left, they would mock him.
It felt as if Frieza kept these clowns to roast him.
“You can’t handle a mere monkey that escaped the circus.
Do you think you are fit to be a king?” Frieza asked, his tone changing slightly.
“I sincerely apologize, Lord Frieza.
But that monkey has found a way to get stronger.
According to our last readings, he surpassed all of the power levels of an average Saiyan—no, elites across history—reaching a power level of 19 thousand.”
“Ho.
He managed to do that before you disposed of him.
That means he is 190 thousand in Great Ape form.
Hmm.
He could be the strongest member of my force,” Frieza said as he pondered deeply.
Frieza, despite being very powerful, couldn’t do everything.
His job was to rule and conquer, and to do that, he needed strong people beside him.
Yet, the strongest one was Ginyu, who only scored at 120 thousand.
“Lord Frieza!
You can’t be considering recruiting him!” Vegeta screamed.
“Are you second-guessing thoughts I haven’t expressed?” Frieza shot him a glare.
Vegeta, shaking, lowered his head.
“No, my lord.
It’s just… He knew we were working for you.
Yet, he dared to rebel against me, which is the same as rebelling against you.”
“Cut the crap, Vegeta,” Frieza said.
One of Frieza’s guards spoke.
“I’m quite surprised that you haven’t disposed of him.
Your way of stripping my lord of strong, muscular followers is what should be considered a rebellious act.”
“When did I?” Vegeta asked, eyes wide open.
“Like you aren’t sending people to that giant’s planet to die,” Frieza said.
Vegeta found himself restricted by heavy Ki, unable to move.
“You should consider yourself lucky that you need to find the best pillow in the universe,” Frieza said.
“Otherwise, I would have sent a monkey like you to dance on that planet.”
“My lord!
Forgive me.
It wasn’t my intention!
All I wanted was to give you a useful planet!” Vegeta replied.
He was strong with the weak, and weak with the strong.
To him, the most important things were his throne and his heir, Prince Vegeta, who would become the strongest Saiyan and overthrow Frieza.
All he had ever done, even going as far as getting rid of other strong rivals—like Broly—was for the sake of his son.
Even if he had to beg now, as long as he didn’t lose the throne and his son was fine, then there would be a day when all of his dreams came true.
“Well, you better be ready to deliver the number one pillow to Lord Beerus.
That’s the only reason you’re still alive.”
“Because he’s as useful as picking pillows,” commented the red alien.
Frieza chuckled, and the other alien laughed out loud.
Vegeta felt humiliated.
Being overpowered and serving a much stronger warrior was fine, as it wasn’t a shameful act for a warrior.
But what was shameful was being used for their amusement.
These comments hurt more than a brutal beating.
‘You think you can humiliate me and boss me around, you and that Destroyer Beerus.
Once my son grows strong and kills that motherfucker, I’ll be the supreme ruler of the universe,’ Vegeta thought.
‘And that Beerus is mad to think he can boss me around.
I’ll give him the second-best pillow and keep the first one.
He can suck on it!’
Suddenly, someone entered the room Frieza was in and got on one knee.
It was a Sepian species with blue hair.
“Lord Frieza.
Report.
Zukishi managed to hunt down all of our forces that went to capture him,” said the soldier, “and the latest reading of his power level was 190,000.”
“Impressive.” Frieza nodded slightly.
“What about the monkeys?”
“They have been erased, most of them.
But nevertheless, many of them managed to escape and got back to the ship.
From the readings, it seems that their elites have survived,” replied the servant.
Vegeta, who had his heart in his throat, suddenly breathed a sigh of relief.
He didn’t care about that woman, the queen of the Saiyans, as she was hard to deal with.
Though she was strong, she had been keeping her distance from him.
However, what mattered the most to him was whether little Vegeta made it out alive.
‘If the elites survived, it means that they escaped in time,’ he thought.
‘It was the right decision to make Fruita the leader of the operation.
Though, I wonder.
Only 19 thousand?
She should have found a way to deal with him, and with many elites, he should have died or been badly injured.
Vegeta thought of many questions.
‘Hell, even sacrificing two or three elites would exhaust him.
With less energy, he’d have less power level, and he’d die.
Unless he’s overwhelmingly powerful, so powerful that it wouldn’t drain his stamina to defeat that many.
But it’s impossible.
The scouter is never wrong.’
“Oh… seems he learned how to suppress his strength,” Frieza smiled.
“One of the monkeys is jumping out of the zoo.
That makes me want to recruit him even further.”
“Power suppressing?” Vegeta asked.
“It’s a trick brainless monkeys like you don’t know about.
It’s something for the strong.
We use it to not destroy everything with a touch,” Frieza replied.
“It has the same principle as suppressing power through transformation, the trick you monkeys developed when turned into Sepians,” added the green-haired man.
Vegeta, despite the shock, was on the verge of snapping and killing that green-haired alien.
The alien who was on his knee stood up and said, “Lord Frieza, I have sent the record of the battle to your scouter.”
Frieza floated to a nearby window and pressed his scouter to read the report.
It recorded the log of the power levels that appeared, and he focused on the ones from Zukishi.
Frieza thought, ‘Normally, they get weaker the longer they fight.
But his power was rising.
He made it seem as if 19 thousand was his peak, so that when he reached his peak, it would appear to be due to the Great Ape transformation.
‘However, he made one mistake.
A monkey transformation may increase their power ten times.
It’s significantly more when it should be slightly less.
‘The difference is apparent, as his power level is approaching 200 thousand.
‘He can’t control his power level well.
He’s new to this trick.
Amateur.’
Frieza smiled.
“It seems I was right.
That Zukishi has surpassed the limits of a normal Saiyan.
I’ll assume that he’s at a 200 thousand power level in base form,” Frieza stated.
Everyone in the room stopped, shocked.
The green-haired alien, Zarbon, blinked twice.
Dodoria, the red one, screamed.
“200 thousand!
That’s impossible.
Monkeys can’t be this strong!”
“Lord Frieza, I’m afraid we have to take this one down, considering that he even killed your forces.
He may even be considering us enemies,” Zarbon advised.
“Hohoho… a monkey, no matter how big they get, is still a monkey,” Frieza laughed.
“And I want that one captured alive.
Track him down, hack into his ship, and call the Ginyu Force to be ready.
I’m gaining something, nonetheless.”
