Karan’s timing had been absurdly precise.
He had counterattacked in the instant between Goku’s attack ending and his next move beginning, leaving him no time to react.

Vegeta glared at Goku and vented all his frustration on him.
“Oh, come on!
You got one-shotted too!
You got eliminated even faster than I did, so how can you talk?” Goku shot back immediately.
Vegeta’s face turned green with rage, but he couldn’t find a single word to argue.
At least Goku had managed to exchange blows with Karan for a while.
Vegeta had practically been sent flying before he could even warm up.
The battle on the stage continued.
However, Karan was already losing interest.
Gohan’s talent truly was extraordinary, but forcing him to awaken Super Saiyan 2 wasn’t easy.
Without truly cornering him emotionally, his hidden power simply wouldn’t emerge.
Ten minutes later, only five contestants remained.

And Android 18, who was comfortably leaning against Karan.

Karan answered with one of his own.

The floor beneath Trunks shattered.
The enormous force sent him flying off the ring.

Trunks smiled bitterly.
At the same time, Gohan launched a kick toward Karan’s side.
Karan grabbed his ankle and swung him away.

Gohan flew off the ring, but managed to catch himself at the last second and leap back onto the edge.
“So you still want to continue?”
Karan looked at the panting Gohan.
“I haven’t lost yet!”
Gohan’s eyes were filled with determination.
“Fine.”
Karan spread his hands.
“I want to see if a desperate situation can force out your true potential.”
“Haa!”
Gohan charged again.
Unfortunately, every attack missed.
“Too slow.”
“This level of power can’t even touch me.”
Gohan’s eyes reddened.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t even brush against Karan’s clothes.
“Warm-up’s over.”
“My turn.”
Karan vanished.
“So fast!”
Gohan froze.
Bang!
Karan’s kick struck his back.
Gohan rolled across the stage and barely stopped at the edge.
Karan had deliberately held back.
Otherwise, Gohan would have already been eliminated.

Karan spoke calmly.

Then Karan kicked him out of the ring.
Goku quickly caught his son.
“Are you okay, Gohan?”
“Sorry, Dad.”
Gohan smiled bitterly.
“I lost.”
“It’s fine.”
Goku laughed.
“Karan’s ridiculously strong.
Even Vegeta and I got one-shotted.”
“Kakarot!
Shut up!”
Vegeta exploded with embarrassment.
“Stop bringing that up!”
Eventually, only Karan and Android 18 remained on the ring.
Piccolo had already been defeated by an excited Android 18 and voluntarily stepped down.
“You should surrender.”
Karan looked at the beautiful blonde before him.
He had to win first place.
“Hmph.”
Android 18 smiled charmingly.
“I haven’t even fought you yet.”
She slowly walked toward him.
Instead of attacking, she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“What are you trying to do?” Karan asked with a smile.
“Defeat you, obviously.”
Android 18 leaned close and whispered into his ear.
Her blue eyes were filled with affection.
Rather than fighting, she simply leaned against him and refused to let go.
Anyone watching could tell that she wasn’t interested in battle anymore.
The audience stared blankly.
Krillin’s mouth twitched.
“Seriously…”
“Is this a fight or flirting?”
