The news of Vegeta being swatted into a wall spread throughout the headquarters base in less than a day.
Although Vegeta had deliberately chosen a spot outside the corridor’s surveillance coverage, the commotion caused by the impact was simply too massive.
The shockwave shattered the lighting panels across two adjacent corridor sections, and the cracks spiderwebbing across the alloy wall extended quite a distance from the point of impact.
An insectoid communications soldier patrolling nearby was so startled by the muffled crash that his antennae stood straight up.
By the time he rushed to the scene, all he found was a clear, human-shaped dent in the wall and debris scattered across the floor.
Naturally, this incident was reported directly to Dodoria.
In the dining area.
Dodoria was gnawing on a piece of roast meat.
Grease ran down his thick fingers, dripping onto the table.
His communication terminal beeped.
He freed up a hand to swipe open the message.
Before he could even finish chewing the meat in his mouth…
“Pfft—”
Meat scraps sprayed all over the table.
Dodoria threw his head back and laughed, his fat face flushing red.
“Hahahahaha—”
Inside the command room.
Frieza was looking through a star sector resource report from his hoverchair.
Sarbo stood to his right, holding a data terminal and making annotations.
The alloy doors parted from both sides.
“Lord Frieza!
Lord Frieza!”
Dodoria walked in.
Frieza looked up and glanced at him.
“Mr.
Dodoria, you have something on your mouth.”
Dodoria subconsciously wiped it with the back of his hand.
The meat scrap fell off, but the grease stain smeared even wider.
“Lord Frieza!
Guess what!”
He rushed up to the hoverchair in two quick strides, completely unable to suppress the excitement on his fat face.
“That brat Vegeta.”
“He got beaten up!”
Frieza’s hand stopped turning the page.
“Oh?
What happened?”
“According to a patrol soldier’s report, that guy Vegeta got beaten up by Dalles.”
“When the patrol soldier arrived, all he saw was a human-shaped crater!”
Dodoria’s schadenfreude was palpable.
He had waited far too long for this day.
Sarbo stood in place without making a sound.
He rested his index and middle fingers on the edge of his scouter and pushed it up.
He exchanged a brief glance with Dodoria.
Dodoria saw the exact same thing in Sarbo’s eyes as his own.
Sarbo also confirmed the same emotion on Dodoria’s fat face.
Satisfaction!
Over the years, bearing the title of Saiyan Prince and relying on Frieza’s inexplicable tolerance towards him, Vegeta had been arrogant, domineering, and condescending.
He even dared to give attitude to Frieza’s right-hand men, Sarbo and Dodoria.
Today, someone had finally vented this frustration for them, and that person was a fellow Saiyan.
That was the most satisfying part of it all.
The tip of Frieza’s tail tapped against his armrest.
His eyes narrowed slightly, and a smile crept onto his face.
“Ho ho ho—”
“That sounds quite amusing.”
Sarbo took a half-step forward and suggested that the repair costs for the corridor wall and compensation for the damaged facilities should be charged to Vegeta.
His reasoning was solid.
According to Article 17 of the army’s internal regulations, the party that initiates an attack on a colleague in a non-training area must bear the cost of all collateral damage.
Hearing this, Dodoria immediately chimed in.
“That’s right!
This Vegeta is getting more and more unruly.
To openly pick a fight with a colleague at the headquarters base…
it would be unjustifiable not to teach him a lesson.”
The two of them echoed each other, directly pinning the cost of the damages onto Vegeta.
Frieza smiled and nodded, his tone carrying a trace of the same amusement.
“You two make a fair point.”
…
Vegeta’s squad barracks were located in the east wing of the headquarters base.
The training room door was locked from the inside.
Over the past few days, Vegeta had spent an average of seven or eight hours a day inside.
The corpses of Saibamen were scattered all over the floor.
Green bodily fluids splattered the walls and floor; some spots had dried and turned black, while others were still slowly dripping down.
A sour stench permeated the air.
Three Saibamen remained huddled in the corner, their small bodies squeezed together, trembling all over.
The attack command signal light flashed continuously on the control panel above their heads, but none of them dared to move.
Vegeta stood in the exact center of the training room.
The chest plate of his battle armor was mostly shattered, revealing the sweat-soaked bodysuit underneath.
His breathing was heavy and ragged, his entire chest heaving drastically.
He raised his right fist.
The knuckles on that hand were still swollen.
He stared at his fist for a moment.
Then, he slammed a punch into the nearest alloy wall panel.
Fresh blood mixed with the swelling of his old injuries.
He didn’t pause at all, immediately following up with another punch.
And another punch.
With every punch he threw, Dalles’s face flashed in his mind.
It was a good thing the training room walls were specially reinforced, otherwise this punch would probably make their pockets bleed credits again.
Outside the training room.
Nappa and Raditz stood in front of the transparent observation window.
The muffled sounds of impact coming from inside vibrated against the soles of their feet.
Once every few seconds, the frequency getting faster and faster.
Nappa crossed his arms over his chest, tilting his head as he watched inside.
Another Saibaman was casually blasted to pieces by Vegeta.
Raditz’s brows furrowed.
“Our stock of Saibamen is running low.”
Nappa curled his lip.
“We’ll just buy more when we run out.”
“Buy?” Raditz’s face fell.
“With what?”
Nappa turned his head to look at him.
Raditz didn’t answer directly.
Instead, he pulled a small data terminal from his belt.
He held the screen up to Nappa.
Nappa looked at it, then frowned.
“This is all the damn money we have left?”
“The corridor repair fees and equipment compensation have already been deducted,” Raditz said, taking the terminal back and tucking it into his belt.
“This is all that’s left.”
“Saibamen aren’t cheap to begin with, and now that we’ve been hit with such a massive fine…”
Nappa’s mouth twitched.
He looked back at Vegeta in the training room.
He muttered, “Why the hell should we have to pay for all of this?”
“Vegeta was the one who got smashed into the wall by that guy…”
Raditz threw his hands up and sighed.
“Vegeta threw the first punch.”
“Besides, given our situation in the army, there are plenty of people who want to mess with us anyway.”
“Now that they have the chance, of course they’re going to kick us while we’re down…”
Right at that moment, the training room door suddenly opened.
Vegeta walked out, his face dark and brooding.
Nappa and Raditz immediately fell silent, standing stiffly on either side.
Vegeta was still highly emotional right now, and they didn’t dare provoke him.
If they ended up getting beaten, they’d only have themselves to blame.
Vegeta might have been humiliated by Dalles, but dealing with them would still be as easy as lifting a finger.
The two kept their heads down.
Vegeta walked right between them without a care, but a second before he entered the break room, he suddenly stopped.
“Pack up.
We’re leaving.”
