“Ho ho ho ho…”
“A…
nostalgic face.”
The amusement gradually faded from Frieza’s crimson eyes, replaced once again by his polite, elegant smile.
“I did not expect that you, Mr.
Dalles, would be a Saiyan.”
Faced with Frieza’s smile, Dalles kept his expression neutral.
He stopped after maintaining a respectful distance from Frieza.
Then, he dropped to one knee.
“Lord Frieza!”
“Your subordinate can finally return to the embrace of the Frieza Force.”
Immediately after, Dalles began his meticulously rehearsed speech.
He vividly described the life of a wandering Saiyan, struggling to survive in the vast universe.
Yet, he claimed he never forgot his identity as a warrior of the Frieza Force.
Frieza did not speak immediately.
This silence was more agonizing than any interrogation.
Dalles’s mind raced.
He had repeatedly scrutinized this narrative on the ship; every detail he could think of had been carefully arranged.
From the timeline of his exile to a remote planet, to the reason he lost contact with his homeworld, and his subsequent wandering across the cosmos…
everything aligned perfectly with the Frieza Force’s existing archives on surviving Saiyans.
There were thousands of low-class warriors sent away; Frieza couldn’t possibly remember every single one.
Listening to Dalles’s account, even Armond and the others behind him were slightly moved.
They had no idea their boss had endured such hardships before meeting them.
“My, my…”
Frieza finally broke the silence.
“I didn’t realize Mr.
Dalles had such a difficult journey…”
The tip of his tail lifted from the armrest, drew a small arc in the air, and dropped back down.
“You have worked hard.”
Dalles’s heart clenched violently, then relaxed just a fraction.
He immediately raised his head, concealing any unnecessary emotion, and replaced it with the perfect amount of sincerity.
“It was no hardship!
This is all part of my duty.”
The tip of Frieza’s tail tapped lightly against the armrest.
His smile remained undiminished.
Behind Dalles, Armond and the others kept their heads bowed.
Since Dalles was kneeling, they knelt too.
No one dared to make a mistake in a situation like this.
Armond’s braided hair trailed on the ground, gathering a layer of dust, but he didn’t even dare to flick it away.
Frieza suddenly changed the subject.
His gaze lingered on Dalles’s face once more.
“The resemblance is truly uncanny!”
Hearing this, Dalles’s heart skipped a beat.
‘Resemblance?
To whom?’
He felt the weight of Frieza’s stare and quickly realized what it meant.
It was his face!
From the moment Dalles stepped off the ship, Frieza had been staring at this face.
Bardock.
The low-class warrior who had charged at Frieza alone just as Planet Vegeta was reduced to ashes.
In Frieza’s eyes, he was nothing but an insect.
Yet, it was this very insect who did something an insect shouldn’t do.
He charged right up to Frieza, armed with nothing but ridiculous fury and an insignificant power level.
And the physical appearance of Dalles’s current body was almost identical to Bardock’s.
This wasn’t exactly a rare occurrence among Saiyans.
The gene pool for low-class warriors was quite limited, making the probability of doppelgangers far higher than in other races.
As a transmigrator, Dalles obviously knew this, but the real Dalles shouldn’t!
He maintained a look of confusion on the surface.
“Lord Frieza, what do you mean?”
Frieza withdrew his gaze and smiled faintly.
“No, it is nothing.”
“I was merely recalling something nostalgic.”
After Frieza finished speaking, the tip of his tail began to swish slightly against the armrest again.
“Speaking of which, Mr.
Dalles.”
Frieza adjusted his posture, folding his hands over his knees.
“Did you know that your homeland—”
He paused.
“Planet Vegeta, no longer exists.”
His signature smile hung on his face.
Those unblinking crimson eyes locked onto Dalles’s face, observing his every micro-expression.
Dalles didn’t miss a beat.
He looked up.
His face displayed just the right amount of regret—but only a trace.
For someone who had wandered far from home for years, feeling a slight ripple of emotion upon hearing of their homeland’s destruction was perfectly normal.
But to act heartbroken?
That would be overdoing it.
“After returning to the North Galaxy, your subordinate heard about this on a passing planet.”
“Planet Vegeta being destroyed by a meteor…
is indeed a tragedy.”
He lowered his head slightly.
“But to be honest, my only memories of Planet Vegeta are rather unpleasant.”
“Coupled with the fact that it has been destroyed for so long,”
“I don’t really feel much about it anymore.”
“Yes…
it truly was a tragedy.”
Frieza’s tone was airy, carrying a kind of superficial pity.
“I am so sorry for bringing up such a sad topic in front of you, Mr.
Dalles.”
Dalles lowered his head.
“You are too kind, Lord Frieza.”
“Your subordinate does not feel sad.”
“To me, that planet was merely the place where I was born.”
Dalles knelt on the grayish-brown ground, the sharp gravel digging into his knees.
The sulfur-scented air filled his lungs, making every passing second feel agonizingly long.
Then, Frieza’s attention finally shifted away from Dalles.
The suffocating pressure that had locked him in place suddenly receded.
Dalles didn’t dare let his shoulders relax even a fraction.
When facing an entity of Frieza’s caliber, every subtle body movement had to be strictly controlled.
Frieza’s tail resumed its rhythmic tapping.
“Speaking of which—”
Although the oppressive aura had mostly been withdrawn, Dalles instinctively braced himself every time Frieza spoke.
“I hear Mr.
Dalles’s power level is quite remarkable.”
“If it is true…”
“Then Mr.
Dalles must be the strongest Saiyan I know of.”
With that, Frieza shot a glance at Dodoria, who stood nearby.
Understanding the cue, Dodoria immediately used the scouter over his left eye to check Dalles’s power level.
Dodoria couldn’t help but gasp in shock.
Even Sarbo, standing on the other side, was visibly shaken.
‘This power level!
It’s even stronger than my own ugly transformed state!
How could this be!
A mere Saiyan!
A barbaric monkey!
To actually possess such immense battle power!’
An uncontrollable sense of crisis welled up in his heart.
Afterward, Dodoria scanned the subordinates standing behind Dalles.
Their power levels were all exceptionally high!
Even the weakest among them, the brothers Rez and Lakasse, boasted a power level of 7,600.
The strongest, Cacao, had a power level reaching a staggering 13,000!
Seeing these results, a satisfied smile appeared on Frieza’s face.
