An hour later, Wan Ling returned home.
The sun had set and a streak of dark orange stretched across the skies above the sect.
Wan Ling had settled on his bed, his mind slightly reoccupied.
His plan of making Hei Wumei sexually attracted to him had worked maybe even more than he wanted but it still worked nonetheless.
Of course that wasn’t all because after she had returned in a slightly less embarrassed state.
She promised to spread word of his wonderful hands.
Having a core disciple advertise his business for him would do wonders and he was certain by tomorrow or in a week’s time customers will start coming his way.
More importantly than that, his mastery of the massage technique had also gone up.
[Divine Palm Massage techquie]
[Mastery: 2%]
[You have obtained 20 comprehension points]
[Current comprehension points: 50]
With the fifty points, he searched through the system store and bought a cheap Cultivation pill for 20 comprehension points.
He then popped it into his mouth and began to cultivate.
The stored up Yin energy swirled within his body, breaking down into pure qi that was greedily soaked into his muscles, bones with a few spilling into his organs.
To venture into the path of Cultivation one first needed to temper their body.
It was the only way one could use qi without their body exploding.
It didn’t matter if one was a demonic Cultivator, soul cultivator or used whatever form of unorthodox technique, everyone followed the same first step.
Right now the Qi following through wan ling’s body was strengthening his bones, enhancing his muscle, clearing his organs and refining his blood.
Though not painful it was quite discomforting resulting in occasional groans from Wan Ling as the moment passed.
Hours passed as he absorbed every drop of Qi refined and like the birth of a star, a spark ignited around his heart and a powerful surge of Qi exploded from his body engulfing the room with a tremendous presence.
Wan Ling’s clothing flutters about, his ashen hair defying gravity and floating up eeriely.
"Huff!" He exhaled deeply, beads of sweat dropping from his forehead as he felt his breakthrough grow near.
The energy surged further, causing the windows to sway about violently.
Seconds, minutes, hours, maybe even days passed.
Frankly, Wan Ling couldn’t tell.
He was so focused on controlling the Qi in order to facilitate his breakthrough.
His mind was riddled with stressful thoughts, his body growing sore by the second but his spirit and will was unbreaked and eventually he prevailed.
It ended when he heard a soft crack, then came a sense of lightness as if all the burdens he carried had been ejected out his body, leaving him anew and completely refreshed.
Qi flowed more kindly with his blood, his body burnt with incredible power and when he opened his eyes, it was as if he was seeing an entirely different world.
His Qi sense had grown more potent allowing him to see the Qi that gathered about.
It was like a myriad of different colors as if he was seeing through a kaleidoscope.
Just before he could gasp in awe, a terrible stench assaulted his nose causing him to trip off his bed in disgust.
He ended up landing into a puddle of dark sludge that almost made him vomit out the entire contents of his stomach.
The stench was akin to rotten eggs mixed in with horsecrap.
It smelt so bad that even he began to doubt this shit came from him.
"I hate...I hate...I hate this!"
His cheeks bloated and he almost gagged on vomit.
Bringing his hands to his mouth made it worse.
In the end he couldn’t hold it any longer and let it all out, feeling very miserable after.
"Why did the Heavenly DAO invent impurities!"
Having spent hours cleaning the damned room that smelled like a morgue while subjected to the disdainful glares of his colleagues.
Wan Ling having taken a bath that could leave most nobles women jealous casually strolled the streets in new garments and a grim smile.
He had a breakthrough and he was very happy about it.
The experience however didn’t make him look forward to twelve more Cultivation realms he would have to conquer before his eventual ascension.
"From now on all breakthroughs will happen in the wilderness." He muttered to himself.
The impurities were so potent in smell that after an entire hour of cleaning, they haven’t let out.
He doubted he could sleep in his room for days.
Of course that didn’t bother him per say.
He always had elder Han lie’s cave and he had experience camping in his previous life to survive in the wild.
Either way he was more optimistic than pessimistic because after a decade long he finally wasn’t facing a bottleneck.
Cultivation was no longer a dream but within his reach.
All he had to do was be a scumbag, trick powerful women and use them to climb to the top.
" Now I see why unorthodox methods of cultivation are so highly sought after." He thought.
They covered the weakness of the untalented albeit being dangerous or impractical at times.
These methods weren’t about talent but rather mentality.
For instance those who followed the demonic path.
Cultivators were cruel but a demonic Cultivationer was on an entirely different level.
Their sheer ruthlessness wasn’t for everyone and at a certain stage it was less about ruthlessness and more about how insane one was willing to get.
Wan Ling, no matter how much of a scumbag he was, could never become a Demonic Cultivationer.
Even if his earth morals were no longer applicable it simply wasn’t in his nature.
One might call him a hypocrite given he was self centered enough to use the innocence of two women to fuel his growth.
He will accept that label nor was he going to deny what he did.
He might be evil, bad and many other negative labels but insane he wasn’t and he very much believed he wouldn’t become one.
