I pulled the knife out of the woman's skull with a lot of effort, I wiped the brain matter and blood on her dirty lab coat. Walking out of the room I searched for the other two thralls. I walked through the bloodied corridors of the hospital hoping to find the monsters that mutilated all those corpses and created such a horrifying scene instead of running as far as possible, making me wonder if my transformation made me insane as well. I had to admit, I felt more blood thirsty than before and this...hunt was more about pride than any sense of vengeance for the people that were mutilated by those monsters. Adding that to the fact that I seemed to get stronger the more of them I killed, their was no way I was running away and if the entire world was like this, I would need to gather every scrap of power I could find. I needed to survive this no matter what, which means weakness and cowardice were not an option. I soon found another undead thrall, unlike the last two, it wasn't standing around sniffing the air instead it was devouring a corpse like a wild animal in a messy, disgusting display. Shaking my head in disgust, I took out a stapler from my pocket to throw at the feasting thrall and attract it's attention.
*Growl*
I froze mid throw as I heard a growl behind me, deep and guttural. Not hesitating at all I swung my arm holding the stapler behind me, putting my full strength in the stabbing motion towards the source of the growl. I struck the undead in it's face causing it to stumble backwards then I grabbed the knife from around my waist and struck at the undead's head but it swung it's hand at me causing it to be impaled on it's wrist, spraying black blood everywhere. Not deterred I pulled a scalpel from my waist and stabbed it in the eye as both of us tumbled to the ground and I pinned it with my body. The monster thrashed wildly while screaming in pain and fear.

As I struggled to kill the monster I suddenly felt something hit me in the back causing me to fall off the undead thrall. Getting onto my feet quickly, I saw the undead that was feasting in the corridor standing above the other one. It was standing up, with the scalpel still sticking from it's eye, growling at me. I didn't think twice before starting to run in the opposite direction and the two monsters chased after me as they snarled and growled. I ran through the hospital corridors looking in every room for some solution to my current predicaments, all the while the snarling and growling behind me reminded me that I was probably about to die. Somehow I found myself in a cold storage unit with vials filled with what I can only assume were vaccines. I was cornered like prey as my predators entered the unit after me, blocking the only exit.
The thralls ran at me with a hungry, bestial fervor and swung their claws at me with the desire of ripping me apart and devouring the flesh off my bones. I tried to dodge as best as I could but every now and then I would be hit by their claws. As I thought I was going to die under their joint assault I noticed something…..they were slowing down. It was very subtle so I couldn't be sure but I was able to dodge more of their strikes now which I didn't think was a coincidence. As the fight went on I started to notice them getting slower and slower then a thought entered my mind. Undeads were technically just walking corpses, Demon Miasma or not their bodies couldn't produce heat so. Suddenly a feral grin formed on my mouth as I lunged at the first undead and pulled my knife from it's hand while dodging a claw strike from the second one.
I gripped the knife tightly and lunged at the second one, I stabbed my knife into its neck before kicking it in the chest and pulling my knife out. The first one lunged at me for a bite but I spun around and held the back of it's head and slammed it onto the floor. I heard a sickening crack as it's frozen skull cracked open and I stabbed it in the head with my knife, the blade sinking in easier than before. I then turned around to see the second one walking towards me slowly, it's movements kinda reminds me of a robot with rusted joints or the slow zombies from the movies, and I ran towards it before tackling it to the ground with a vengeance. I pushed my knife down onto it's neck horizontally as it scratched at me with it's claws but I didn't care as I looked at it with a crazy grin on my face as I pushed the knife down. I continued pushing down on the knife with all my might and eventually I decapitated the monster as it's ugly blue head rolled onto the floor leaking black blood.
I slumped over and leaned against the wall, not even caring about the cold as exhaustion overtook my body. My shoulders relaxed as the tension and fear I was holding back disappeared, and I turned my attention to the series of system notifications that were appearing in my field of vision.

"Wait, what?" I said as black mist rose from the floor and my eyes widened as I remembered exactly what is responsible for the predicament I was in a few minutes ago. I immediately stood up and tried to get away, but I couldn't move as the mist surrounded my body, forming a cocoon. I screamed and shouted helplessly as I was once again surrounded and in the dark, my consciousness fading as I dreaded what I would become when I open my eyes once more.
