My answer came quickly, and I immediately started looking around as I tried to find a way into the building that wouldn't allow the thralls easy access into the building as well. Soon I found an open window on the second floor, the perfect access point. Now with an objective in mind I ran towards the window as fast as I could.

*Growl*

*Growl*

Of course I attracted a few thralls who started running after me but I didn't have time nor the bullets to deal with their sheer numbers. Not yet at least. Reaching under the window, I jumped with all of my supernatural might. And surprisingly, I managed to cover the entire distance to the window then I quickly grabbed onto the window's frame and pulled myself into the building. The thralls were down below growling at me while trying to get into the building the same way I did, but they fell a bit short. I gave them a mocking smile before I closed the window behind me. Using the blue aura as a guide I found a small group of humans pretty easily. The group consisted of ten people, 6 girls and 4 guys, and they all looked absolutely terrified, something I could relate to.

"Hi." I called out excitedly to them suddenly, and their heads snapped in my direction. Maybe I craved human contact too much after all I've been through, but I ran towards them despite the look on their faces. Luckily, I had taken a bath before leaving K town, or their reaction would have been much worse than just backing away. A muscular guy stepped forward with a metal pipe in hand, and I finally slowed down my strides as my brain finally processed how terrified they were.

"Get away from us you monster!!!" He shouted bravely, but I could hear the tremor in his voice and see his shaking hands, making me realize he was scared. I also just noticed something else, inside was super dark as none of the lights were turned on, with only the evening sun providing any light for these guys. I guess I could add night vision to my list of abilities.

"Look I…" I said while taking a step forward and that triggered the muscular guy as he lunged at me with the steel pipe in hand. He swung at my head but I simply ducked and gave him an uppercut to the face sending him flying. This caused the group to get even more scared as they huddled up even closer to each other, then one of the girls stepped forward between me and the rest of the group.

"Please don't kill them." She pleaded, her voice shaking with fear. This caused me to sigh as I simply sat on the ground and raised my hand making myself look as non threatening as possible. She was a beautiful girl with long blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes.

"Look I'm not one of those zombies walking outside, okay." I said

"So how did you get inside?" She asked suspiciously

"I used a back entrance." I lied, since no normal person would have been able to run from a horde of zombies and jump two stories in a single jump. The others visibly calmed down with the exception of the brave girl who seemed to still be suspicious.

"My name is Colin by the way." I said

"Claire and these guys are…" She then went on to introduce all the members of the group and I tried my best to remember all their names, but it was inevitable that I'll forget a few. I also learned that the muscular guy's name was Tim.

"So how long have you guys been here?" I asked

"Three days." Claire replied being the only one who had the guts to talk to me. Although the rest knew I wasn't a monster they still didn't trust me fully due to what happened with Tim but I really didn't care about that at the moment. Trust can be built later.

'Three days huh.' That made me realize that they've been stuck here since the 'Zombiefication' of K town.

"Do you guys know what's going on with the rest of the school?" I asked wanting to know the status of the school. I knew that the upper floor didn't have anyone inside them but I wasn't sure about the base floors as the aura from the undead thralls outside were interfering with [Aura Vision].

"The upper floors are safe but the ground floor isn't. There are a bunch of zombies walking around down there but thankfully they haven't broken the glass doors or showed any interest in coming upstairs or we would all be fucked." Claire said

"Okay then." I said as I got up to leave.

"Where are you going?" Claire asked with a frown on her face.

"Downstairs." I said not stopping.

"Downstairs are you insane?" Claire said as she followed after me but when she saw me start to walk down the stairs she stopped. This time though I didn't answer her question and just walked down the stairs. There were a few reasons why I wanted to kill the thralls on the first floor, firstly I didn't want them to evolve, secondly I needed a lot of exp to evolve and they were currently my only source, thirdly, I want to see how strong I've become after becoming a halfling and fourth, they might trust me more if they saw how strong I was….or trust me less and think I'm some kind of monster. Humans were fickle like that.
