As expected, my mind simply gave out.

Because I lacked enough demonic power, forcing the Sin Devil Trigger only lasted a short time.

According to my pocket watch, the transformation lasted less than a minute—exactly forty seconds.Full novel: DxD: The Forgotten Lucifer in High School DxD — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“But in those forty seconds, I shattered the hundreds of barrier layers that Grayfia had carefully set up.”

“The power of the Sin Devil Trigger is truly beyond words…”

When Sebastian first unlocked his Devil Transformation, he had compared it to Sacred Gears.

Initially, he thought his Devil Transformation would match the Balance Breaker of the Red Dragon Emperor or the White Dragon Emperor, and that his Sin Devil Trigger would rival their Juggernaut Drive.

But once he fully understood the Devil Trigger, he realized he was wrong.

He didn’t know exactly how strong Dante and Vergil were when they transformed.

However, with his current body, activating the Devil Trigger pushed his power straight into the Satan-class.

He couldn’t do it just yet, and he felt that clearly.

It wasn’t because the Devil Trigger was weak, but because he lacked the skill to unleash its full power.

He was just one step away.

Once he crossed that final hurdle, he would completely master the Devil Trigger.

At that point, reaching the Satan-class would allow him to officially make Grayfia, a Satan-class Devil, a member of his Peerage.

As for the Sin Devil Trigger…

It made sense that if the standard Devil Trigger reached Satan-class, then activating the Sin Devil Trigger would technically still be Satan-class.

That sounded a bit silly, but the power gap between different Satan-class Devils was huge.

Grayfia was Satan-class, and those fools from the Old Satan Faction who used Ophis’s power at the Three-Faction Peace Conference were also Satan-class.

The difference in strength between them was obvious.

Furthermore, even the Heavenly Dragons needed the Red Dragon Emperor’s Dragon God form or the White Dragon Emperor’s Satan form to firmly reach the level of a Super Devil.

So, Sebastian had originally thought that if the Sin Devil Trigger could boost him to the level of a normal Juggernaut Drive, he would be incredibly thankful.

But looking at the results now…

“This destructive power doesn’t seem right.”

Sebastian lay on the ground.

Once the blue demonic flames fully faded away, Grayfia and the others rushed to his side.

Kuroka and Shirone crouched next to him.

Ingvild was completely silent, Sakura Amagiri’s face was filled with panic, and Irisviel looked deeply worried.

Even Karna kept his eyes locked on Sebastian.

Grayfia quietly helped Sebastian sit up.

“Are you alright, Lord Sebastian ?”

Her voice brought Sebastian back to his senses.

He managed to recover a little demonic energy, shook his head at the anxious group, and smiled.

“It’s just a transformation, right?

It’s my own power, so how could it hurt me?”

“At most, it drains a lot of energy and is hard to control.

It’s no big deal.”

“Besides,” he continued, “Grayfia, you all saw me when I lost control just now.

In your opinion, if that version of me fought Sirzechs Lucifer at his full power, who would win?”

Sebastian wanted to confirm his theory.

He had always felt that the true Devil Trigger was on a completely different level than the Juggernaut Drive.

He vaguely sensed that this form might actually rival the Dragon God or Satan forms.

Unfortunately, he had passed out and didn’t know what happened.

Because of this, he needed to ask Grayfia, the most experienced Devil present.

Grayfia thought about his question for a moment.

“If you could maintain it a little longer, we would have to see a real fight to know the answer.”

She offered Sebastian a rare smile.

“But I am certain of one thing.

In that moment, your strength was equal to Lord Sirzechs when he uses his True Form of Destruction.”

“Simply put, your power was so immense that you didn’t even seem like a Devil.

You were a Super Devil.”

Hearing this, Sebastian smiled.

“Then even if it only lasts forty seconds, this form is worth it.

It’s even stronger than a Longinus Juggernaut Drive.

If I keep training and learn to keep my sanity while transformed, it will be even better…”

As he spoke, his voice faded.

Exhaustion overtook him, and he drifted off to sleep in Grayfia’s arms.

Grayfia looked down and quickly checked his condition.

After making sure Sebastian was safe, she stared at his sleeping face with a helpless expression.

There was something she hadn’t told him.

If he could hold that form long enough for a real battle, even without his sanity, he would truly be a Super Devil.

The scene inside the shattered barriers flashed through her mind.

Sebastian’s body had grown larger, glowing blue blades had sprouted from his arms, his chest had split open, and he had taken on a monstrous form.

Her first thought was of the original Lucifer, a figure she had seen as a child.

But looking closer, his stance didn’t match Lord Lucifer.

If anything, he looked more like a god from the ancient war, standing alone against the Four Great Satans and facing countless powerful enemies.

He radiated violent power, explosive demonic energy, and an absolute sense of invincibility.

Even Rizevim Livan Lucifer, who was known as the strongest Super Devil, couldn’t compare to that sight.

When Sebastian opened his eyes, it was pitch black outside.

Being a Devil, he felt his body come alive now that the sun had set.

Demonic energy flowed smoothly through his veins, and he felt much lighter.

The improvement wasn’t huge, but it was noticeable.

“How long was I asleep…?”

He remembered passing out, but he had no idea how much time had passed or what had happened while he was unconscious.

Subconsciously, he tried to pull his hand from under the blanket to grab his pocket watch.

But he couldn’t move his hand.

Instead, he brushed against something soft, causing a faint, quiet whimper.

Sebastian’s eyes snapped open, and the last of his grogginess vanished.

Someone was holding his arm!

His movement woke the other person up.

The girl who had been hugging his arm crawled on top of him, resting her chin on his chest.

“You’re awake, nya~”

Long black hair spilled over him.

Two cat ears twitched from under the covers.

Sebastian could feel something furry wrapped around his left hand beneath the blanket—definitely her tail.

Kuroka was pressing her entire body against his, leaving Sebastian speechless and frozen.

His mind went blank.

This definitely wasn’t the right time to just say “good morning!”

Kuroka was dangerously close.

He could feel her body heat and hear her heartbeat.

Her breath carried a sweet scent that brushed against his face.

“Kuroka…

why are you in here!?” Sebastian asked, his voice suddenly rising in panic.

Kuroka giggled softly.

“Grayfia asked me to take care of you.

I got sleepy while watching you, so I took a nap, hehe~”

It was a terrible, obvious excuse.

Sebastian knew she had completely made it up.

Strangely enough, he couldn’t bring himself to call out her lie.

He just blinked and nodded.

Kuroka noticed his reaction, taking his silence as permission.

Acting like the cat she was, she placed her hands on Sebastian’s shoulders, pressed herself tighter against him, and leaned her face in close.

Only then did Sebastian notice how flushed she was.

Kuroka’s cheeks and ears were bright red, and her body felt unusually hot, as if she had a fever.

Was she sick?

With her hands on his shoulders and their breaths mixing, Kuroka purposely let Sebastian feel her racing heartbeat.

“Lord Sebastian …”

Before she could finish, the bedroom door burst open!

“Big sister, Lord Sebastian!”

It was Shirone.

Despite being much shorter than Kuroka, her presence was incredibly intimidating.

An intense, heavy aura flooded the room.

Puffing out her cheeks, she marched over to the bed and glared down at the two most important people in her life.

“Big sister, Lord Sebastian —”

“Yes!”

Sebastian and Kuroka sat straight up at the exact same time, kneeling on the bed in front of Shirone like children caught misbehaving.

But instead of the scolding they expected, Shirone threw herself right into Sebastian’s arms.

“I want to cuddle too!”

Wait…

what?

It took a long time to finally coax Shirone to sleep.

When Sebastian and Kuroka later sat down at the massive dining table, they were both exhausted.

“Taking care of kids is seriously tiring…” Sebastian sighed.

He picked up the decanter of red wine on the table and poured himself a glass.

Kuroka leaned back heavily into her chair, almost melting into the cushion, before sitting up straight.

“Pour me a glass too, nya~”

Sebastian nodded, sliding his glass over to her before grabbing a fresh one.

“Don’t drink too much.”

He poured a new glass for himself and checked his pocket watch.

“I didn’t expect to sleep through the whole day, but the timing actually worked out perfectly.”

It was now 11:20 PM.

“At midnight, I plan to use that scabbard to summon King Arthur.”

Hearing this, Kuroka took a sip of wine and looked up at him.

“Are you ready?”

“Yes,” Sebastian replied.

“If I get into trouble, my three Command Spells are enough to protect me for a while.

Plus, Grayfia is here.”

Sebastian held his wine glass, his tone completely calm.

“Since we have plenty of time, it’s just standard procedure to prepare everything we can.”

His serious attitude was completely different from how awkward he had been in the bedroom.

When discussing business, his face showed zero emotion, making him look calm and experienced.

“The Matou Family prepared thirty Command Spells for the Holy Church to act as referees.

Adding the three I already have, that makes thirty-three.”

“Furthermore, I have a good idea of this Heroic Spirit’s strength.

Even if she draws her sword and attacks the second she is summoned, I can hold my own for a few hits before deciding my next move.”

“If that fails, this is our base.

We have enough manpower to just take her down directly if necessary.”

Hearing Sebastian list off all these traps without a single thought of letting their guest leave peacefully, Kuroka couldn’t help but mumble to herself.

Even though she hadn’t served Sebastian as long as Grayfia had, Kuroka understood him just as well.

She knew that Sebastian was definitely not a soft-hearted Devil.

He was incredibly decisive and would not hesitate to kill.

He never held back when it was time to fight.

He only bothered with complicated traps and plans when his target actually needed to be kept alive.
