“I have plenty of time to grow stronger,” Sebastian murmured to himself.
“As for that final task Rizevim left me…”
A strange smile curled the corners of Sebastian’s lips.
He drew Yamato directly from his System space and gently pressed the tip of the blade against his own chest.
A orb of dark light was pulled from deep within his body, sliding harmlessly along the silver blade.
“You wanted me to stay in the Underworld as your spy?
Until I’m strong enough to kill you, I don’t mind playing along,” Sebastian whispered, glaring at the dark energy.
“But using a spell like this to leash me?
Rizevim, you severely underestimated me.”
Before abandoning the estate, Rizevim had placed a magical tracking curse on Sebastian to force him to serve as a puppet inside the Underworld.
Right now, Sebastian lacked the power to defeat Rizevim outright, so feeding the old monster selective information wasn’t a bad strategy—it might even create an opportunity for a counterattack later.
However, placing his life in someone else’s hands was out of the question.
Sebastian tossed the dark curse directly into his System inventory, sealing it away completely.
“Keep dreaming, old man.”
With the curse removed, Sebastian prepared to practice his sword techniques, but a servant’s nervous voice called out from behind the door.
“Lord Sebastian !
The Devil sent by Lord Sirzechs to serve as your caretaker has arrived.
Would you like to meet her?”
Sebastian paused, suddenly remembering the arrangement.
He thought it over for a second before nodding.
“Lead the way.”
Sirzechs had already sent word about this earlier.
Sebastian didn’t overthink it—at worst, she was just an observer sent by the Anti-Satan Faction, and he had already prepared several contingency plans.
However, the moment he stepped out and saw the silver-haired maid standing in the courtyard, he froze in surprise.
“My name is Grayfia Lucifuge,” she said, bowing with perfect elegance.
“Starting today, I will serve as your personal maid, Lord Sebastian .”
Grayfia?
Sebastian knew Sirzechs wasn’t married yet, but he hadn’t expected the Anti-Satan Faction to send someone as powerful as her.
They were certainly taking no chances.
Glancing at his System panel, Sebastian noticed a new notification light up.
He smiled slightly and gave Grayfia a polite nod.
“I see.
Welcome, Grayfia.
Let’s get along well from now on.”
[Objective: Spend 5 minutes with Grayfia Lucifuge.]
Seeing the simple requirement, Sebastian smiled.
After a few brief pleasantries, he used the excuse of showing her around the estate to walk her through the grounds and explain the current state of the Lucifer Clan.
Five minutes was going to be effortless.
“After Vali escaped, Rizevim abandoned the territory as well,” Sebastian explained as they walked through the empty hallways.
“Now, I am the only main family member left.
Vali took some retainers, Rizevim took the rest, and only low-class servants remain to do basic chores.
Forget an Ultimate-Class Devil—there isn’t even a High-Class Devil left in the castle.”
He turned a corner, gesturing toward the wide grounds.
“Though the territory is smaller now, the remaining servants keep basic operations running.
The House of Lucifer isn’t what it used to be, but it functions.”
Grayfia listened quietly, giving a slight nod.
“Understood.”
She knew the truth.
Before her arrival, the House of Lucifer was pitifully vulnerable.
The absolute lack of high-tier fighters was a massive liability; if enemies attacked, the servants wouldn’t stand a chance.
However, things were different now.
With a Satan-class Devil like her guarding the estate, no minor faction would dare invade easily.
“That covers the basics,” Sebastian said, stopping in his tracks.
“If you want to look around more, feel free.
There are no restricted areas for you in this castle.”
He took two steps forward, then paused once more, turning back to face her.
Grayfia looked at him with mild surprise.
“And…
thank you for coming here to help me,” Sebastian said quietly.
Before she could respond, Sebastian mentally clicked the [Claim Reward] button and stepped into the shadowy corner of the corridor, vanishing from sight.
Grayfia stared at the spot where he had been standing, her cold eyes gradually softening.
She had expected a hostile reception, prepared to face anger or suspicion from the young Lucifer descendant.
She had even planned ways to slowly earn his trust.
Now, she realized she had overthought it.
He really is different from Rizevim, she thought warmly.
He isn’t a lunatic at all.
Grayfia straightened her maid outfit, a firm look returning to her eyes.
Until you grow strong enough to stand on your own, Lord Sebastian …
I will protect the House of Lucifer.
[Sign-in Successful!]
[Reward Obtained: Summoned Swords!]
Back inside his private quarters, Sebastian stared at the system notification in disbelief.
“Is this system trying to turn me into Vergil?”
First the Yamato, and now the Summoned Swords—both were signature weapons from Devil May Cry.
The Summoned Swords were ethereal blades created entirely out of magic power.
They could float around the user to form a spinning defensive barrier, shoot across long distances to impale enemies, or track targets automatically.
However, Sebastian quickly noticed a slight adjustment to his version of the ability.
Instead of pulling enemies toward him or pulling himself toward an enemy, his Summoned Swords allowed him to teleport directly to where a blade landed—much like the Flying Thunder God Technique used by the Fourth Hokage.
Summoned Swords are formed using raw magic power, Sebastian thought, holding out his right hand.
A glowing blue blade materialised instantly above his palm.
With a casual flick of his wrist, the blade shot upward and began circling his body.
Moments later, dozens of identical blue swords appeared out of thin air, forming a tight defensive ring around him.
Sebastian waved his hand, dismissing the floating blades until only a small shield of four swords remained.
With my current magic capacity, maintaining a small defensive ring is easy.
But if I launch a massive barrage or teleport across huge distances, my magic will drain in seconds.
He sighed softly.
Unlike Vali, who possessed massive magic reserves from his dragon blood, Sebastian had to carefully calculate every drop of magic power he used in battle.
Still, this limitation was only temporary.
He lacked natural talent, but he had a Check-In System.
So far, the system only recognized major lore characters—like Rizevim, Grayfia, or Sirzechs—while ignoring background servants.
That meant to get stronger, he needed to meet the main cast.
Sebastian bit his thumb nervously as a bold plan formed in his head.
It’s time to make a move.
“Are you really planning to visit House Gremory?” Grayfia asked, her brow furrowing slightly in surprise.
House Gremory was one of the most prominent families in the Anti-Satan Faction.
Sirzechs Lucifer himself was born a Gremory.
For Sebastian —a direct descendant of the original Devil King Lucifer—to waltz into Gremory territory was an incredible political risk.
“That’s right,” Sebastian said calmly.
“My understanding of House Gremory is better than you think.
There are two main reasons we’re going.
First, I can meet several key figures there.
Second…
I need to handle Rizevim’s mess.”
He looked at Grayfia reassuringly.
“Don’t worry.
I’m not going there to pick a fight.
I have urgent matters that must be discussed privately with Sirzechs.
Official diplomatic channels would draw too much attention.
Sneaking into House Gremory is the fastest way to speak with him directly.”
Grayfia listened intently before giving a firm nod.
“In that case, using my magic to teleport us directly into the Gremory estate will be much safer.
It will prevent any leaks.”
Sebastian blinked in surprise.
“You’re not going to ask what I plan to tell Sirzechs?”
Grayfia stood tall in her maid uniform, her tone calm and unwavering.
“You are the master of the House of Lucifer.
As long as your intentions are genuine, I will support your decisions.”
Sebastian looked at her closely, searching her face for any hidden motives, but found none.
At first, he had assumed she was merely a spy placed by Sirzechs to monitor him.
Now, it seemed her loyalty ran deeper than he thought.
Even so, Sebastian wasn’t naive enough to place total trust in anyone just yet.
He put on a relaxed smile and nodded.
“Alright then.
I’ll leave the transport to you, Grayfia.”
“It is my honor, Lord Sebastian.”
Inside his private study at the Gremory castle, Sirzechs Lucifer sat behind a massive wooden desk, reviewing stacks of official documents.
Ever since he took up the title of Crimson Satan, his workload had been endless.
Even when Ajuka Beelzebub granted him a few days off, official paperwork continued to pile up.
“Being a Satan is more exhausting than fighting a war,” Sirzechs muttered, rubbing his temples.
Suddenly, a bright blue light flared in the center of the room.
Sensory alarms went off in Sirzechs’s mind as a massive surge of magic power filled the office.
He raised his hand, ready to destroy the incoming teleportation circle, but stopped instantly when he recognized the magic signature: it was the crest of the Lucifuge Clan.
The crest faded, revealing two figures standing in his office.
Sirzechs looked at the silver-haired maid first.
Remembering their previous conversation, he suppressed a soft sigh, knowing their romantic past was truly behind them.
He shifted his attention to the young man standing beside her.
Sirzechs recognized the face immediately.
“Sebastian Lucifer…
You came all the way to House Gremory just to see me?”
Sebastian met his gaze without flinching.
“Yes.
I don’t know many people here, so I couldn’t exactly pretend I was stopping by for a casual visit.”
Sirzechs let out a low chuckle, not bothering to call out his direct tone.
At the same time, a familiar system prompt sounded in Sebastian’s mind:
[Objective: Talk to Sirzechs Lucifer for 10 minutes.]
Sebastian’s lips twitched upward into a faint smile.
Technically, as representatives of the Old Satan Faction and the Anti-Satan Faction, they were supposed to be enemies.
Yet, Sirzechs offered him a warm, gentle smile.
“Speak then,” Sirzechs said kindly.
“What brings you here?
Have the servants abandoned the Lucifer estate completely?
Do you need financial or military aid from the Underworld government?”
He asked with genuine concern, and Sebastian knew the Crimson Satan meant every word.
If Sebastian asked for help, Sirzechs would grant it without hesitation.
However, with Grayfia protecting him, Sebastian didn’t need superficial favors.
“I’m not here to beg for security,” Sebastian said steadily.
“Having a Satan-class bodyguard like Grayfia is more than enough protection.
I came here to talk about Rizevim.”
The moment the name was uttered, the warm atmosphere vanished.
Sirzechs’s expression darkened instantly.
Expecting this reaction, Sebastian pressed on.
“Before Rizevim abandoned the Underworld, he ordered me to act as his internal spy.
He wanted me to gather intelligence on government troop movements and defensive layouts.
His departure wasn’t just a simple escape—he took a faction of veteran Old Satan Devils with him, and others are working with him in secret.
It’s a coordinated operation.”
Grayfia’s eyes widened in shock.
Her body tensed instantly, her magic flaring up as she prepared to grab Sebastian and escape the room if Sirzechs reacted aggressively.
