Sebastian knew everything about the allegiance of Arjuna and Saint George.
He was even there on the day Tohsaka Tokiomi summoned Saint George.
This gave him a thorough understanding of the Amagiri camp; even if Tokiomi Amagiri and Rin Amagiri sensed something was wrong, they could do nothing about him.
However…
“The information I can get lately is becoming less and less.
I have to stir up some trouble now.” Kotomine Kirei huddled in the corner of the sewer.
After hearing the news brought back by Hundred Faces, he squinted in the darkness and laughed.
“Assassin, do you think we will be the ones to win this Holy Grail War?”
In the past, Hundred Faces hadn’t thought about this question seriously.
Even after seeing Heroic Spirits of the caliber of Arjuna and Saint George, she didn’t think she could win at all.
But now…
There was no other way.
Her Master was recklessly running toward his own doom, and she had been dragged into this situation with absolutely no way out.
Since it had come to this, she could only nod silently.
The clone of Hundred Faces nodded, and Kotomine Kirei glanced at her.
“Then pray hard and look forward to it.
Compared to others, we at least have reinforcements that can help us.”
“If worse comes to worst, we still have reinforcements that can be of use,” Sebastian said with a sudden smile, looking at his nervous peerage members in front of him.
“Reinforcements?
Lord Sebastian, do you mean that the Underworld will send people to help us?” Kuroka blinked and looked at Sebastian.
Sebastian shrugged.
“The Underworld won’t send troops just for the sake of the Old Satan Faction.
Although Sirzechs is a Satan, he isn’t that free.”
“However, among my nominal family, there is indeed one person who is free and willing to do anything as long as there is a reason.”
“Contacting him is a bit risky, but if it really comes down to the other side breaking the rules, we will have no choice but to unleash the dog.”
He was referring to Rizevim, and he was still holding the communicator meant to contact him.
Right now, Rizevim thought Sebastian was a mole planted in the Underworld, while Sirzechs thought he was an undercover agent placed by the Underworld inside the Old Satan Faction and Rizevim’s inner circle.
To put it simply, Sebastian was playing both sides.
Whether it was Rizevim or Sirzechs, both could become useful allies under specific circumstances.
Most of the time, he needed Sirzechs on his side, but on very rare occasions, he had to coordinate with Rizevim.
Of course, unless it was absolutely necessary, he didn’t want to rely on Rizevim at all.
The hatred this body felt toward Rizevim was carved into its very bones.
Once his power broke through to a higher level, he would definitely join forces with Sirzechs to take Rizevim out.
On this point, he felt the exact same way as his estranged half-brother, Vali Lucifer.
The only difference was that Sebastian understood Rizevim better and was far more likely to have the last laugh.
“It’s about time.” Grayfia walked downstairs, and Sebastian stood up.
“Thank you for your hard work.”
“It’s nothing.”
As soon as Grayfia came down, Rin Amagiri greeted her and rushed to the second floor.
Seeing Tokiomi Amagiri lying on the floor with a steady heartbeat and breathing, sleeping peacefully, Rin still couldn’t quite believe it.
She walked over and gently nudged him.
“Dad…
Dad…”
It wasn’t until Tokiomi Amagiri opened his eyes and looked at her in confusion that Rin sat down on the floor with a thump, letting out a long sigh of relief.
“Rin, what happened…?” Tokiomi was thoroughly confused.
Rin offered a faint smile and shook her head.
“Dad, we have completely lost this Holy Grail War.”
“I’m really sorry to ask you to keep working right after finishing such delicate magic, but none of us can help with this, Grayfia,” Sebastian said, sighing softly as he watched Grayfia monitor the movements of Heaven and the Underworld.
Tokiomi Amagiri had finally accepted reality after Rin explained everything that happened after he died.
The man who had always taught his daughter to act with grace sighed heavily.
“We lost.
Although I considered this possibility, I never expected us to lose so completely.”
Every Heroic Spirit was wiped out, not a single Command Spell was left, and a traitor had struck from within.
To make matters worse, he had been saved by his enemy, and his own daughter had signed a contract with a High-Class Devil.
Tokiomi realized that if he hadn’t sent his wife away in advance, their entire family would have been ruined.
Even so, he managed to compose himself.
Tokiomi had never been a natural genius; his magic talent was modest, and he had struggled through desperate situations at least twice before.
He was not so easily broken.
Sebastian was not good at emotional speeches, nor did he know how to comfort people.
Delicate magic manipulation was his weakness.
He had always viewed himself as a brawler who relied on raw power to crush obstacles, and that approach had always worked for him.
Grayfia shook her head gently.
“It’s no trouble, Lord Sebastian.
This is part of my duty as your Queen.
Once Miss Ingvild masters her magic power, she will be able to share the workload.”
Remembering how Ingvild complained whenever training was mentioned, Sebastian smiled helplessly.
“Don’t set the standard too high for her.
Even though she is over a hundred years old, she was only seventeen before she fell into her deep sleep.
She’s still at an age where she gets restless easily.”
Grayfia offered a rare, subtle smile.
“Lord Sebastian, even you can misjudge someone occasionally.”
“Oh?”
“Miss Ingvild wants to master her power faster than anyone else so she can become useful to you sooner.”
“Is that so…” Sebastian chatted casually with Grayfia until she put away her observation spell.
“The Fallen Angels also live in the Underworld, so their movements are easy to track.
They aren’t interested in the commotion here; instead, they are actively hunting for Sacred Gear possessors.
As for the Angels…” Grayfia closed her eyes.
“…They are doing their best to hide their tracks, as if they are preparing for something big.”
Meanwhile, Tokiomi Amagiri quickly analyzed his situation.
He regained his composure and looked at his daughter.
“Rin, take me to see the benefactor who saved our family.”
“Eh?” Rin was caught off guard.
Tokiomi maintained a calm smile.
“I have critical information to report regarding Kotomine Kirei, the Master of Assassin.”
Tokiomi had already accepted his new reality.
Rather than fighting a superior enemy whose full power was unknown, smart survival meant proving his worth to a new master.
“So Heaven is indeed making a move…
Kotomine Kirei must be behind it,” Sebastian said, narrowing his eyes.
“If I could lock onto his location, I would just capture him and force out the truth.
Unfortunately, he’s hiding like a rat in the dark ever since he took out Tokiomi.”
Sebastian used his Clairvoyance alongside his Observation Haki to scan the surrounding area, but Kotomine Kirei’s trace remained completely hidden.
Grayfia remained quiet.
While she was a master of high-level magic, her specialty lay in direct combat rather than tracking spells.
Her flawless fusion of power and technique was what eventually made her the strongest Queen in the Underworld.
While Kotomine Kirei remained a problem for later, Sebastian had one important matter to handle first.
He retrieved the box of Evil Pieces from his storage, opened it, and held out the Queen piece to Grayfia.
“Grayfia, if you have truly made your decision, then officially join my Peerage as my servant.”
As he spoke, Sebastian activated his Devil transformation, entering his Sin Devil Trigger form.
An iron mask materialized over his face as his aura surged into the realm of a Satan-class Devil.
“I cannot offer grand promises right now, but I can assure you of one thing—become my servant, and I will never let you regret it.”
Grayfia stared at him, her heart filled with shock.
Satan-class…
While lower-tier Devils in the Old Satan Faction could temporarily reach this state by consuming Ophis’s snakes, achieving true Satan-class power naturally was the absolute peak of the Devil race.
It put Sebastian in the same tier as the Five Great Dragon Kings and the original leaders of the Underworld.
Beyond that tier lay only Super Devils—monsters whose power completely broke through the natural limits of the Devil race—and beings of the Dragon God Class like Ophis and Great Red, whose power was infinite.
For a pure-blooded Devil, reaching the Satan-class usually required centuries of refinement.
Grayfia had assumed it would take Sebastian decades to climb past the Ultimate-class level.
Yet, her shock lasted only a brief moment before a look of absolute resolve took its place.
