Zach walked through the beam and when he opened his eyes he saw a fox.
It was sitting at the desk using its tails to flip through paper.
His brain needed a few seconds to catch up with what he was seeing.
“Huh, so God is a fox?” The fox looked up at him from his desk.
A puff of smoke came and went and a man with fox ears wearing glasses and a suit appeared.
The man waved his hands and a chair and pot was placed in front of Zach.
The man chuckled, “Take as much time as you need to process this.
I am sorry that you had to see my animal form, this human form is still strange to me.
You would think after ten millenniums I would be used to it by now.”
‘Breathe Zach, he is a talking animal, no, a talking and living being of intellegence.’ Zach slowly sat down in the chair and tried his best to remain calm.
He reached out to the pot and poured himself a cup of coffee.
He moaned as he drank.
The fox man leaned back in his chair and smiled in appreciation.
“I know, the coffee here is the best in the entire omniverse.” Zach agreed by pouring another cup.
After he drank half of the cup he regained his composure.
“Do you have a name or title?” The fox man sat his cup down and sat up straight.
“You can call me X for now, most people do anyways.
I will get to core of the matter, or rather I will address the elephant in the room.”
X snapped his fingers and a thick file appeared in front of him.
“Your name is Zach Theodore Riley.
You married a woman named Sonya Stevenson and had two children Henrick and Tatianna.”
Zach nodded his head.
“Wait!
I had twins?
How are they?
Is it possible for me to see just a little bit of their life?” X took his questions in stride.
“The answer is yes to the first question and the answer is no to the others.
I can tell you however, Sonya Stevenson, rather Riley, never remarried and raised your children with love.”
Zach cried as he heard the news.
‘Sonya you could’ve remarried and moved on.
Thank you for raising our kids, I am sorry I couldn’t be there with you.’ X didn’t rush him as he cried.
‘I hate this part, but it lets me see their character.
Any good man will cry when hearing this type of news.’
It took Zach some time to recover.
X handed him some tissues.
“Thank you, I am sorry for making a fool of myself.” X shook his head, “Nonsense, any man who loves his wife and children would get emotional.
I do have to continue if you don’t mind, and I will try to answer any questions you have once I am done.”
Zach sniffled and straightened up.
“Right so, heaven does exists but this,” he gestured to the surroundings, “Is a special space.
Think of it a sub reddit page.”
Zach chuckled at the reference.
“I work for the All of Nature.
The title All is just what it sounds like they are a being, an entity, god, or goddess that controls everthing.
In this case its the All of Nature.”
Zach interupted him.
“So does this mean God doesn’t exist?” X face turned stern and serious.
“Zach, God does exists but remember god or goddess are just titles given to beings who are strong.
Never think or believe otherwise.”
Zach nodded quickly.
“Zach you are being given the opportunity to be chosen as a ambassador for the All of Nature.
This is a humongus opportunity for you, to be frank with you, I am envious of you.”
Zach swallowed hard.
“If I were to accept the offer what responsibilities would I have?” X sighed and leaned back.
He murmoured softly, “If only I was born in this era.” He looked back Zach.
“Your responsibilities are pretty straight forward.
You will be going to places where the All of Nature pressence is low or thrown out of order.
You be responsibile for establishing her pressence.”
Zach started tapping his foot.
“Like a church, organizations, or cults?” X smiled and chuckled.
“That is one way to think about it, but you basically just need to leave a mark where ever you go using the powers you get and gain from being an ambassador.”
Zach thought about his options.
“Is it possible for me to meet my wife, Sonya again?” X frowned then changed to shocked and then composed again.
“Your wife can be found again but only if you accept the position.”
Zach sighed.
He smiled and stood up.
“X, I accept the position in that case.
What are the next steps?” X smiled and took his hand.
“I would like to congratulate you and say I look forward to the day you can know my actual name.”
X took Zach to a different room.
Inside the room were weapons, armors, books wrapped in thick chains, and giant wheels.
X stopped in front of the wheels.
“Each wheel correspond to a different category.
The only wheel you can’t spin is the first one because the All of Nature has already chosen where you will go first.
The second wheel represents your talents, these are things that you are born with.”
X gestured at the wheel.
“Some examples are singing, dancing, fighting, or even mentality.” Zach nodded and strained his neck as he tried to see the needle.
X coughed.
Zach took a deep breath and spun the wheel with everything he could muster.
A small screen appeared and he saw the needle spinning at speeds so fast that for a second he thought it wasn’t moving.
X nudged him along.
“Don’t worry about the result, you still have more wheels to spin.” They stopped in front of the third wheel.
“This wheel decides what gift you will have.
Some examples could be mastery of cold weapons, divine discernment, or super durability.”
Zach spun the wheel and moved on.
“The fourth wheel determines your talent.
This means how fast you grow in terms of overall strength.
The lowest is F and the highest is SSS, but the one you really want is a title like prodigy or blessed.”
X didn’t explain why and he made Zach move to the last wheel.
“The fifth and final wheel, determines your luck and if you will have any bloodlines.
I suggest you don’t focus too much on bloodlines, they can be very tiring to deal with.”
X sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose.
“The political mess that comes from having one is not something I wish upon anyone Zach.
Always remember one thing, blood does not make you strong but rather what actions and deeds you do with it.”
X walked them back to the office.
A file was there on the desk.
Zach reached for it but his hand was swatted away by X.
“Calm down.
Have a seat while I log this information.” Zach rubbed his hand.
“What type of world or universe will I be going to first?
I hope its not DC, Marvel, or God forbid some place with a lot of fan service.” X ignored him as he copied the file.
“Its a place you are familiar with and I can’t say.
I will however tell you to mentally prepare yourself and try your best.”
Zach rolled his eyes.
“X, that does not make me confident.” He smirked.
“Good cause it wasn’t supposed to.
Now onto the last bit of information.
You will get a system, it does not talk, you will have missions, a limited inventory, a shop, and finally a way to contact me.”
Zach groaned.
X raised his hands, “Easy, easy the missions are all optional there are consequences but none of them invovle you dying or being punished.
They are more like minor annoying inconviences.
Such as your shoes coming untide every fifth step or always waking up one minute before your alarm.”
Zach slumped in his chair and wiped his forehead.
“X, you had me scared for a second.
Why or rather when should I contact you?” X took out a cigar and lit it.
he offered one to Zach.
Zach never had the chance to smoke back on Earth.
He took a drag and coughed.
X laughed at him, Zach took more puffs and gradually found his rhythem.
“I see how people can become addicted to this.”
X agreed.
“Back to business, you contact me when you encounter another ambassador, ALL, a threat you can’t handle, and when its time for you to travel to a new destination.
I will not respond to any other messages.”
Zach nodded.
They finished their cigars in comfortable silence.
“So, X what are my next steps?” X snapped his fingers and a doorway appeared.
It was yellow, blue and black.
“You only need to walk through that door.”
Zach stood up and started walking for the door but was stopped.
“I almost forgot to give you your ambassador token.
Keep this on you at all times” Zach caught the token.
It was heavy.
There was a tree, the sun, the moon, the stars, and they all lived on or in a womans hair.
Zach turned back to X, “Thanks again X, I look forward to the day I can be your friend instead of some lost soul to recruit.” He stepped through the door before X could respond.
‘New life, new world, and the love of my life.
Here I come.’
