No wife, no pets, not even a roomba vaccum cleaner.

Just him in his apartment.

Saving up for the house his dream.

‘One day, Donald, the house will be yours.’ He tapped the picture for good luck and left.

He pulled up and parked down the street.

He took out a recorder and began speaking into it.

“This is Agent Donald Fegurson.

I have arrived at my location.

My long-term undercover mission is to observe a teenager named Zach Shaun Maddox and determine his character.”

He paused before continuing.

“He is the son of Jared and Nyla Maddox.

Jared Maddox works as an ambassador or diplomat for the United States of America.

His mother, Nyla Maddox, is the chief of security of the first lady of the United States of America.

Both are trained in CQC.

His mother, Nyla, is the stronger of the two in combat.”

He paused and ducked as Henry drove by with Zach running behind him.

“I have seen my target.

He will arrive at the family gym in approximately five minutes.

I received intel stating his mother and father have landed.

I will wait to see if any of them show up before making an entry.

It seems Zach’s grandfather, Henry Maddox, is taking his training seriously.”

“Speaking of his grandfather, Henry, he is a war veteran.

He served in special forces.

He started out as a Marine, then was recruited into the SEALs in 1961.

His call sign was Jaguar.

He went on to complete several official and unofficial missions.

He earned his call sign during the Vietnam War.

This was due to his ability to camouflage, swim, and his lethality when executing guerrilla warfare tactics.

He has 123 confirmed kills.

He is the first African-American to be inducted as a member of the DELTA FORCE when it was first founded in 1977.”

“He was honorably discharged in the year 1967 and started the gym Maddox Combat Training in the same year.

He married Diana Smith in 1971, and they had their first child, Jared Maddox, in 1973.

They have no other children.”

“Jared Maddox, in his youth, was a troubled, precarious young man.

Despite Henry’s record as a war hero, he and his family suffered from segregation.

Henry didn’t fight with his fists, although he could’ve; instead, he opened his gym to everyone and became the first African-American owner to own a successful business in his neighborhood.

Jared chose violence and going to parties until Henry brought him to the gym.”

“There, Jared found purpose and discipline.

He won the Golden Gloves Tournament three times before hanging them up and chose to focus on school.

He went to Columbia for his undergrad and Morehouse for his graduate program.

From there, he worked his way up until he got his current job as an ambassador.”

“Nyla Maddox did her undergrad at Columbia as well, which is where she met Jared.

She did her graduate program at Harvard.

She was recruited by the CIA for her ability to analyze and decipher codes.

She stayed there until she was offered the position of chief of security for the first lady.

She was born in Eastern Africa before her parents left and came to America.”

“Target’s mother just passed by.

I will finish reporting later.

Agent Donald out.” Donald put away the recorder and drove to the gym.

He got out with his bag.

He stopped and reluctantly took off his shades.

He mumbled, “Damn undercover missions.”

Donald walked into the gym to hear Jared raise his voice at Zach.

‘It seems Jared is going to give the boy a strong talking to.’ He looked around and saw Nyla talking with Fred’s parents.

‘Nyla Maddox…’ He shook his head and focused on maintaining his cover.

He walked to the front desk and rang the bell.

Henry showed up and smiled.

“Welcome to Maddox Combat Training.

Everyone is welcome here.

You don’t need to train in combat to combat obesity.” Donald chuckled.

“Is that your opening line for everyone or just for me?” Henry laughed and shook his hand.

“Not a chance, young’n.

My wife came up with that slogan years ago, and it just stuck.

She felt the name Maddox Combat Training would make it seem scary and cause women to not come in.”

Donald looked around and saw women working out.

He took another glance at Nyla before turning his attention back to Henry.

“She wasn’t wrong about that.

If women are there, then so are we men, right?” Henry slapped the counter and laughed.

“You got that right, young’n.

Now, how can I help you?”

“We can start by getting rid of this flap I have.” Donald patted his stomach.

Henry nodded his head.

“Absolutely!

Depends on how much effort you put into training, which membership you want, and how fast you want to lose the weight.”

Donald chuckled slightly.

“My time is limited to three months.

I have a wedding tux to fit into and a date to find.” Henry clapped him on his shoulder.

“In that case, you are going to want our middle-weight course.

You what around 220-245lbs?

This course can bring you down to 185lbs(middleweight for UFC) in three months, depending on how consistent you are.”

Donald nodded his head in agreement.

“Great!

It is expensive, just letting you know.

It comes with a personal trainer, food prep, and judo classes to help with your core since that’s the main focus.” Donald’s eyebrow raised.

“How much are we talking?”

Henry cleared his throat.

“For three months, you are looking at a total of 4,800 dollars.

Before you say anything, I want you to think about what you are getting.

A personal trainer, food prep, and a martial arts course.

I am even gonna throw in your equipment for free.

It’s fine if you can’t pay the total amount.

You can pay in installments.”

Donald pretended to think about the deal as he watched Zach walk out of the locker room and over to his friend.

‘His friend looks stronger than before.’ He sighed. Visit g.com for the full chapter.

“Alright, Mr.

Maddox, you have a deal.

I will take the payment plan route.” Henry laughed and shook his hand.

“Young’n, you just made the best decision of your life.

I guarantee that as long as you are disciplined and consistent, you will fit in that tux and get a date, no problems.

Heck, I can even introduce you to some young ladies from the gym, but just warning ya they ain’t easy.”

Donald laughed and signed some paperwork.

He made the payment, and Henry brought him to meet his trainer.

“Benji!

Let me introduce you to Donald.

He is doing the middleweight package, and I think you will be perfect for training him.

Donald Benji is a two-time judo champion and represented the United States at the 2008 Olympics.

If you excuse me, I have some boys to yell at.”

Donald heard Henry yell at Zach and his friend Fred.

Benji smiled and shook his hand.

“Old man Mad can be intense, but he knows what he’s talking about.

We will start off with some basics, just so I can know your physical level as of now.” Donald nodded.

“Let’s start you out with some cardio.

This way, your body can warm up, so don’t set the speed too high.

I will go grab your gear from the office.

What sizes do you wear?” “I wear 3x in shirts and a 48 in the waist.” Benji nodded and left.

Donald sighed and started jogging on the treadmill.

Zach and Fred came over.

They started running up an incline.

‘They both seem to be in extraordinary shape for 15-year-olds, but it makes sense considering they train in this place.

Fred seems empathetic, as evidenced by the way he comforted Zach.

Zach seems like a normal teenage boy so far.’

Donald observed them in closer detail.

‘Zach probably inherited his father and grandfather’s physiques, considering his height.

Henry is about 6’6, and his dad is 6’2.

He is still in his first growth phase.

Fred seems to lean more toward his mother’s body type, but he will be broader if he continues training with Zach.’

Zach and Fred left the gym with their respective parents.

Donald stayed and finished his workout with Benji.

“Donald, this is your food prep.

I will give you all your meals for the week every Monday.

This is a list of foods and substitutes you can eat instead of junk food.

I am not saying you have to follow this to the T, but it will help increase your health overall.”

Donald caught his breath and told him thanks before leaving.

Donald drove away from the gym before stopping and pulling over.

“This Agent Donald Ferguson reporting my ending observations.

The target, Zach Maddox, whom I will be referring to from now on as Z, appears to be a normal teenager at first glance.

His stamninia is larger than normal, but this may be because of the training he does.

He can be seen with Fred Adams, who I can confirm is his best friend or his right-hand man.”

“I will continue making reports on anything I find.

Agent Ferguson is clocking out.”
