The Mist Dragon opened its mouth, gathering magical power.
A blue magical beam shot out at extreme speed.
Cid raised his hand.
Magic released from his palm, forming a shield that blocked the attack completely.
Cid swung his sword and struck the Mist Dragon again.
What followed was a one-sided beating.
The Mist Dragon wasn’t all that strong, but it was incredibly durable.
No matter how Cid attacked, he couldn’t break through its defense.
“Damn human.
Once your magic runs out, you’re dead.”
The Mist Dragon thought smugly.
Yet Cid kept pummeling it for an hour with no sign of his magic depleting.
Instead, the Mist Dragon couldn’t hold out.
It felt its magic running dry.
Once that happened, its physical defense would drop drastically, and then it wouldn’t be able to withstand Cid’s attacks.
“Stop hitting me!
I surrender!
I surrender!
This place is yours!”
The Mist Dragon quickly begged for mercy.
Seeing the opponent surrender, Cid stopped.
“Then this ancient capital, Alexandria, is ours!”
“It’s Alexandria!”
“Close enough!”
Cid took a lap around the ancient city but found nothing.
Not a single coin.
In the end, he left regretfully.
Shino returned to Shadow Garden’s temporary base and summoned the Seven Shadows for a meeting.
The next day, everyone sat around the conference table.
“It’s like this: Cid — that is, Shadow — discovered the lost royal capital Alexandria!
He defeated the Mist Dragon and earned its recognition.
It’s willing to cede Alexandria to us as our base!”

A gale-force wind swept in, dispersing the mist instantly.
“This!” The Mist Dragon was stunned.
“This human dispelled my mist even faster than the one yesterday!”
Shino flew straight toward the Mist Dragon.
Compared to Cid’s speed from the day before, Shino was indeed a bit slower.
“This guy should be easier to beat than yesterday’s.”
The Mist Dragon opened its mouth, gathered magical power, and fired a beam.
Shino swung his Stellar Sword and cleaved the beam apart on the spot.
Just as the Mist Dragon tried to attack again, Shino was already above it.
“Shatter.”
The moment Shino shouted, the Stellar Sword struck the Mist Dragon’s head with full force.
The Mist Dragon plummeted toward the ground at tremendous speed.

“With Lord Phantom’s terrifying strength, I have to work hard to keep up!” Zeta said, looking at Shino.
Eta’s mind was wandering, thinking about how to modify a bicycle.
