A sharp knock echoed on the old wood of his study door.

“Your Majesty,” came the muffled voice of a court attendant, “the Council of Ministers is assembled.

The court awaits your first address.”Full novel: Emperor of All Realms: I Have Proficiency As My Talent — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Kaiser closed his eyes, let the silence stretch, then stood.

He wore no armor.

No regal robes woven with spirit thread.

Just plain imperial silks, dark crimson edged in black, a subdued attire befitting a figurehead Emperor.

Just as he liked it.

The walk to the court was long, but familiar.

Twin lines of guards flanked him as he moved, each armored in the golden plated regalia of the Dawnwatch.

They didn’t speak.

They never did.

Their loyalty was to the throne, not the man who sat on it.

As he reached the great doors of the Hall of Morning Light, he could already hear the rustle of ministers inside, discussions veiled in diplomacy, ambition wrapped in protocol.

He inhaled.

Held it.

Exhaled.

The doors opened.

And the Emperor of the Dawn Empire stepped inside.

The voices of ministers began to rise, one after another, as the tide of discussion shifted from routine to grave.

“The Skyfall Sect has grown increasingly defiant,” announced Lord Varun of the Valebryn Clan, his tone sharp beneath the veil of formality.

“They refuse to send tribute this season, citing spiritual autonomy.

This is the third time they’ve ignored imperial decrees.”

A few heads turned at that.

The Skyfall Sect was not just any force within the Empire.

It was the number one sect under Dawn’s banner, controlling vast land and influence from the eastern highlands.

And rebellion from them would not be a flicker.

It would be wildfire.

“And what of the southern provinces?” asked another voice.

“Whispers of demonic cult activity have returned.

Some say the Demon Union God Sect stirs again.”

The words hit the room like a thunderclap.

For a moment, silence reigned.

All eyes flicked toward the empty seat normally reserved for the National Teacher.

Even in absence, his legend sat heavier than any presence.

It was he who had burned the Demon Union God Sect to ashes.

The idea of it rising again was not just troubling.

It was unthinkable.

Others followed with news of tensions between border clans, strange disappearances in trade routes, and rumors from the sea kingdoms.

And Kaiser?

He listened.

But only in part.

His fingers moved quietly over the scrolls laid neatly to his side.

A report from the North caught his eye, ink slightly smudged, clearly written in urgency.

“Massive flooding has struck the Northern Province of Kaelmoor.

Infrastructure collapse.

Farmlands drowned.

Civil unrest brewing.

Requesting emergency aid, food stores, and reconstruction workers.”

Kaiser reached for the seal of review and pressed it onto the parchment, marking it for immediate attention.

The moment his palm touched the scroll, something flickered in his vision.

A small, quiet glow.

No one else saw it.

A message shimmered across his mind’s eye, delicate and silent like the turn of a leaf.

[Imperial Action Acknowledged]

[You have gained 1 Imperial Point]

Kaiser didn’t react.

He didn’t need to.

The ministers around him continued to argue, their voices rising with the weight of empire shaping decisions.

The Skyfall Sect, the demons, the shifting loyalties.

All pressing matters, yes, but not for him.

Not yet.

These were the burdens his Ancestors would carry.

The faceless giants who ruled from the shadows.

He was merely the sun shaped coin on their chessboard.

Gleaming.

Decorative.

But he had his own game to play.

And now, one point more to show for it.

The arguing continued.

Lords clashed politely, their voices lacquered with protocol but brimming with tension.

Words like rebellion, war, and famine were tossed around with the same ease as market gossip.

But Kaiser heard none of it.

Not really.

He was still staring at the parchment before him.

Or rather, past it.

Beneath his composed exterior, something stirred.

A pulse.

A spark.

A storm held just under the skin.

Fifteen years.

Fifteen years of silence.

His fingers twitched slightly, almost trembling.

This damned system, bound to his soul since the moment he was reborn into this world, had been nothing more than an idle relic.

No tutorials.

No notifications.

No miraculous benefits.

It had simply existed, like a stone in his shoe.

A cruel reminder of potential without purpose.

And now.

It had stirred.

That one line still glowed faintly in the corner of his vision, invisible to all but him.

Kaiser exhaled slowly.

A small curl formed at the corner of his lips, there and gone, a flicker of satisfaction he refused to let linger.

He had an idea of what was happening, but it wasn’t enough.

Not yet.

He reached for another scroll.

This one was from the far north, where the coastal provinces met the edge of imperial control.

It detailed a request from a troubled region, where loosely allied tribal cultivators regularly launched raids along the coast.

The tribes followed strange, ancient paths of cultivation, beast blood rites, bone chanting, and elemental binding, and while not enemies, they were certainly no friends of the Empire.

The petition was formal, but desperate.

“We request urgent grain shipments for the displaced villagers… and reinforcements to secure the coast from future tribal raids.”

But now, there was no response from his panel, and that brought a frown to his brows.

‘Why didn’t it increase again?’ Many question came in his mind, and he wanted peace to analyze why he didn’t get an Imperial Point, and what all things he is going to use it.
